Voice Coach Has Vanished?

Krisvm

Recommended Posts

I had been doing voice lessons with my coach online. I had done the first 3 sessions and we were working really well together.

We then had a delay and needed to have our next session at the start of October but it came and went I didn't hear any more from her. I have tried to contact her through multiple emails, her contact form and social media we have used to communicate before and I have heard nothing.

I paid in advance for a full course of lessons and want to continue but I am mystified about what happened? Any advice?

Yikes, I hope she didn't take your cash and run for it. : (

I mean, you've exhausted all avenues of communication with her. Anyway you can report her to somebody? Like the better  business bureau or something to that affect?

If she was professional she would have some background. For instance, if a speech therapist she may be a member of a professional organisation. Look for this membership of a professional body and try contacting them for information.Professional bodies do provide directories of members for members. I am not sure how easy they would be to find but not impossible. Maybe it's possible she was doing the coaching as a sideline to her day job? If so she will be working somewhere. Thorough examination of her details you have might provide a link?

It is cold season so there’s a possibility that they might not be feeling well. Although it is probably a courtesy to inform clients about these things, depending on how severe it is they may not be in any shape to respond right now.

Not all voice coaches are attached to organizations but I do know of one that has a decent YouTube presence who gives singing lessons as well and is also transgender.

It may or may not be something that was intentional but try to keep in mind that sudden illness, family emergencies and accidents can effect anyone, even voice coaches.

I think that may be the same one I am trying to get in contact with!

I know that and that is why I have tried to be patient but now it has been over a month and nothing I am getting a little concerned.

It’s also been a month since her last video. I’m not sure exactly where she is based but I want to say Toronto. There’s several transgender YouTubers that have just fallen off the map lately. Sometimes it’s love that steals their focus, sometimes they get into trouble, sometimes they have an emotional crisis. There’s any number of reasons to fall silent.

I’ve actually done that myself because things just fell apart in one huge devastating blow and I had no way to contact anyone even if I wanted to. That’s a very scary place to be.

We don’t know what someone else is going through. It’s easy to expect others to just be reliable like some mega corporation, but individuals are vulnerable to all kinds of dangerous things.

I know it sounds like I’m playing devils advocate, but I’m just speaking from my own experience of powerlessness. I’d get knocked on my butt by misfortune but my own family and friends would fault me for “disappearing” as if it was intentional.

Keep trying to get in touch, but just keep in mind that you might be contacting them when they are in a very difficult position.

Update: I finally managed to get in touch with one of her assistants. They haven't provided me with much information so far but I sent them the emails and discussions we had and will see if I can hear more.

yes sorry about the delayed response. We manage to arrange times again, it was basically that they had a new system where all their communication went through an assistant for all their appointments as she is so busy now. My messages were not getting through as I needed to use a new address for appointments. So all good now.

Glad to hear you are back on track. I just started my voice training, it is way too early for me to notice results.

Wishing you good luck:)

I have shared my doses and levels a lot and no one has said anything. Yeah I put alarms on my phone to make sure I don't miss a dose. I tend to forget a lot of stuff on what needs to be done. I have been also using the calendar on my phone a lot. I missed an appointment because I didn't put it in my calendar.

Feeling better than I did yesterday

It's official. My doctor wants me retested after the last results (too high). The test, that she scheduled, was likely too close to the dose. She did tell me to keep the increased dose instead of reverting to my old one, probably because my "too high" wasn't that high. I don't know what the forum's stance is on results, knowing full well the rules against sharing dosage, so I'll keep those under wraps until I know if it's OK to share those. Less to say, it was over the range she feels comfortable with by about 50%, but taken a day earlier than the midpoint value she was expecting. Grains of salt everywhere!   Of course I messed everything up too, missing my dose for the first time, yesterday. I had to re-reschedule the lab I setup yesterday to Monday from Saturday after taking my shot this morning to avoid the same issue with the testing. I woke up and thought, "Thursday, what do I have to do for work today? OH -crap-, IT'S THURSDAY! I missed my shot yesterday!"   Anyhoo. Question for the ladies: does anyone else get a mild zen-like high after their shots/doses? My brain feels lighter and I'm happier and I feel a lot more girlie this morning. 💃

I'm into my fourth month of HRT and just titrated up in dosage after my last checkup. This is my life. 🤭   I have yet to grow out of my B cup bras, but I have noticed more fullness, having started with gynecomastia. I am seeing less gapping in bras with my right breast, which has always been smaller than my left. My areolae are slightly pronounced/projected now, that are larger but not vastly greater in circumference, and I have noticed little to no nipple changes beyond their painful sensitivity.

-It's not a sprint it's an endurance.  -It won't happen overnight. -Seek a gender therapist. -You might lose a lot of support but hang in there. If they truly loved and cared about you they would stay. -Retail therapy helps and plus it builds your wardrobe and shoes. -Makeup is an artwork. It takes lots of practice to do it right and watch YouTube videos on how to put it on or someone who is knowledgeable. -You are going to have roller coaster emotions so don't rush anything.

You have grown more breast tissue than most some only get one size and that is it. I went from 42C to 42DD but I'm also taking supplements. It's risky to take the supplements but to me it's worth the risk.

I'd echo some of the advice in Imma Asher's letter in the book To My Trans Sisters:   Take your time.  See yourself. Be proud.  Be strong. Indulge in the transformation.  Read more.  Put down the brow pencil.  Live.  And be happy.

I hope that there is some kind of justice. It's very sad and it doesn't even mention the family and I could only imagine how they feel.
