Employee is suing Dunkin donuts for unlawful termination and discrimination

This isn’t as uncommon as you would think and even a common tactic of managers/supervisors. They lead the employee to believe they are given permission to be excused from work and then fire them without proper procedure. I’ve had this done to me twice. It’s even worse when it’s someone who is discriminating against a transgender person.

Unfortunately, discrimination for sexual orientation or being trans is not illegal in most of PA. It's legal at the state level. Banned in the more populous cities.

Also not a hate crime in PA.

There is a state-wide executive order from the governor though that's supposed to be protecting her.

So having read that over, what a marvelously convoluted mess. It looks like the courts are likely to be on her side though. Interestingly, she needs to file with the PA Human Rights Commission. It doesn't appear to have much in the way of teeth though. I also learned I can do the same thing in my home state, so that's something.

Ugh, Poor woman! My gut tells me that corporate will throw that management team under the bus.

Yeah, that's my gut reaction too. They'll pull the lizard defense by shedding their tail to save the company from liability. That doesn't protect "Jane Doe" from further harassment by the community though. I hope she can find work somewhere less terrible. No, I hope she can build a life somewhere less terrible.

Unfortunately a large segment of the population will never accept trans-ness in any form, it goes back to the basic personal choice of not liking or accepting someone or some people often for illogical reasons and has lass to do with someone's religious upbringing. Often times haters have no established moral codes other than their own brand of self righteousness. We can make all the laws in the world in an attempt to quell it, but bottom line is no law will change what goes on in a person't mind and heart. Everyone discriminates in multiple ways, it's just part of the human condition. Knowing that, we have to go about our lives with thick skins and fend off the slings and arrows as best we can, because no one is going to protect us, not even the Supreme Court.

Disagree. I still have hope that we can move past this as a species. We're not currently putting in the work, but if we focused on educating people and exposing them to different ways of being human... well, we could stamp it out going forward. We're starting to see it now. Less and less of each new generation discriminates. I probably won't see it in my lifetime (barring some sort of science fiction longevity treatment in the next forty years), but I think it will happen given enough time. The world's moving in the right direction, there are just some stragglers trying to hold it back.

Like the saying goes, "If you have a misty optic you can't be optimistic!" Which means we have to have a sense of vision like you are expressing here, you are probably right as the generations pass on things are bound to change over time. Meanwhile, we need to develop our senses, be wary of surroundings and dangerous people, places and situations just as genetic women have always had to, because in our lifetime this is our reality.

I have shared my doses and levels a lot and no one has said anything. Yeah I put alarms on my phone to make sure I don't miss a dose. I tend to forget a lot of stuff on what needs to be done. I have been also using the calendar on my phone a lot. I missed an appointment because I didn't put it in my calendar.

Feeling better than I did yesterday

It's official. My doctor wants me retested after the last results (too high). The test, that she scheduled, was likely too close to the dose. She did tell me to keep the increased dose instead of reverting to my old one, probably because my "too high" wasn't that high. I don't know what the forum's stance is on results, knowing full well the rules against sharing dosage, so I'll keep those under wraps until I know if it's OK to share those. Less to say, it was over the range she feels comfortable with by about 50%, but taken a day earlier than the midpoint value she was expecting. Grains of salt everywhere!   Of course I messed everything up too, missing my dose for the first time, yesterday. I had to re-reschedule the lab I setup yesterday to Monday from Saturday after taking my shot this morning to avoid the same issue with the testing. I woke up and thought, "Thursday, what do I have to do for work today? OH -crap-, IT'S THURSDAY! I missed my shot yesterday!"   Anyhoo. Question for the ladies: does anyone else get a mild zen-like high after their shots/doses? My brain feels lighter and I'm happier and I feel a lot more girlie this morning. 💃

I'm into my fourth month of HRT and just titrated up in dosage after my last checkup. This is my life. 🤭   I have yet to grow out of my B cup bras, but I have noticed more fullness, having started with gynecomastia. I am seeing less gapping in bras with my right breast, which has always been smaller than my left. My areolae are slightly pronounced/projected now, that are larger but not vastly greater in circumference, and I have noticed little to no nipple changes beyond their painful sensitivity.

-It's not a sprint it's an endurance.  -It won't happen overnight. -Seek a gender therapist. -You might lose a lot of support but hang in there. If they truly loved and cared about you they would stay. -Retail therapy helps and plus it builds your wardrobe and shoes. -Makeup is an artwork. It takes lots of practice to do it right and watch YouTube videos on how to put it on or someone who is knowledgeable. -You are going to have roller coaster emotions so don't rush anything.

You have grown more breast tissue than most some only get one size and that is it. I went from 42C to 42DD but I'm also taking supplements. It's risky to take the supplements but to me it's worth the risk.

I'd echo some of the advice in Imma Asher's letter in the book To My Trans Sisters:   Take your time.  See yourself. Be proud.  Be strong. Indulge in the transformation.  Read more.  Put down the brow pencil.  Live.  And be happy.

I hope that there is some kind of justice. It's very sad and it doesn't even mention the family and I could only imagine how they feel.
