Holiday Outing

I am a member of a trans social group that meets monthly for dinner, and next weekend is our annual Christmas gathering.  I always look forward to this event because it is our yearly “glam” event, giving me the opportunity to wear one of my dressier outfits.

Of course, I’m always thinking about what I’ll wear on my next outing, but the Christmas Dinner event, has me pondering my outfit weeks in advance.

After much contemplation I think I have settled on what I’ll be wearing.  My dress is a “little black dress” with a hemline that’s just wee bit shorter than what I’d normally wear, but this is a special occasion, so I’m throwing caution to the wind.  It has a scoop neck, long sleeves, and is made of a shimmery black fabric that makes it sparkle.

I’m still undecided about footwear, but I’ve narrowed the choices down to two options.  One option is a pair of high-heel knee boots.  Paired with my dress, the combination is an edgy mix of styles.  The other option is a very sexy pair of stiletto-heel booties, which are dressier than my knee boots.  Both options look good, so I suspect it will be a game time decision.  Usually, I’d opt for a pair of dress pumps, but it is wintertime, and boots or booties work well in colder temperatures.

I’ve decided to compliment my dress with silver bling, and I’m particularly excited about wearing a favorite pair of rhinestone earrings.  They are really only appropriate for formal occasions, so I don’t get to wear them very often.

I plan to top off my outfit (no pun intended) with one of my “Glow Girl” wigs from Forever Young.  Glow Girl is a long flowing wig with a side-part, and it’s my go to style.  I own five of these wigs, all in different shades.  For Christmas Dinner I’ll be a strawberry blonde.

So, I can hardly wait for next Saturday.  Before dinner, I’ll be meeting friends for drinks at the restaurant lounge.  The restaurant is in an extremely popular area, and consequently, it is always packed with people, making it a wonderful place to socialize.  Additionally, it will give me the opportunity to show off my holiday outfit.

Hugs,

Sally

ADMIN NAG here recommends that you load the pictures into your gallery here and link them to your posts instead of putting them in the posts.  Our galleries are only visible to members, but the forums are visible to the public who cannot follow the links in and clone the pictures.  Start your Gallery through the "Create" icon to the left of your profile icon.  It is much easier now than when I had less than 200 posts.

That's a valid "nag" though.

Looking forward to seeing your outfit Sally!

Ladies,

I'd like nothing more than to provide images, but I have always been a little timid when it comes to posting them online.  That's not to say I've never done it, in fact, there are a couple of bio photos out there that accompany some of my online articles.  Still, I'm cautious about letting go of an image online.  I actually waffled a lot before I chose a selfie for my my avatar.  So, all I can say, is we will have to see.

Hugs,

Sally

Agreed. I have got to see this glam girl when she is all dressed up.  It sounds like a wonderful time and I can definitely see you are excited about the outfit.
I look forward to feeling this way.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

      I think I lost a friend :(

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
