should I seek another opinion?

I have messaged my GYN about my self medicating possibly causing my blood clots. I am still looking to get on E. This is what I received back from her:

Please let Ms. Hunter know that I am grateful that she chose to share that
information with me.
In addition, please let her know that her decision to try xxxxx xxxx was
not an act of stupidity. It was an act of self care.
That being said, did the blood clots occur while on the xxxxx xxxxxx?
As she knows, the xxxx xxxx has estrogenic properties. If the blood
clot was related, then, it actually makes treatment with estrogen more of a
concern for possible recurrence.
It is so difficult, but estrogen is really not a safe option.
We're working with the national Transgender E-Consult team, but I'm happy
to send her to endocrine for additional counseling/discussion regarding estrogen
if she wishes.

So with this information.  Should I check into seeing an Endocrinologist for the additional information? Reminder this is all thought VA

thoughts comments?

Thanks

Kymmie

PS: I love the use of the female pronouns and the Ms.  It feels so good.

Yes, Kymmie, I think you should see an endocrinologist, and the sooner the better.   If you are still self medicating, please don't stop what you are taking until you check with an endo, because suddenly stopping hormones can be just as damaging as starting to self-medicate in the first place.  I wish you luck and good health.

I'm sorry you had that experience Kymmie.  I'm glad you shared it here as it helps others to understand the dangers of self medication.

Don't despair.  I have found that with careful medical care i found an HRT course that is good for me with minimum risk.  A clot for me with my heart issues would be fatal so good care is critical but in time i found it possible.

Hugs,

Charlize

Absolutely you should see an endocrinologist. They're great and more importantly, can get you on E safely through the use of patches, pills or injections. Meanwhile, don't beat yourself up too much. Most, if not all of us have been desperate enough to try ANYTHING if it meant letting our inner woman into the sunlight.

Hugs!

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P
    • Abigail Genevieve
      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

      I think I lost a friend :(

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
