Binders and itchy nipples

LlanMatt

Recommended Posts

So I'm FTM and I've been wearing binders for nearly 2 years now. These past 2 - 3 weeks my nipples have been unbearably itchy when I take my binder off and nothing is soothing them... Tried moisturising to anticeptic cream. I cannot physically stop myself from itching and it's really starting to wind me up. Any suggestions? TIA

PS. I'm not on Hormones, haven't changed my type of binder recently, haven't changed washing powder or soap or anything.

I have no experience of your specific issues, but would suggest, at least unless anothe FTM comes up with an answer from experience, that you see your doctor who could diagnose the problem. Otherwise I would only wonder about how tight the binder was (I wonder if a tight binder could limit blood flow to the nipples) and whether there are differences dependant on your hormonal cycle (which if only two or three weeks you won't really know).

I agree with @tracy_j. Nipples don't form calluses, but if nothing else has changed... see a dermatologist maybe? It could be something stupid like you've put on a little weight, but better safe than itchy. I have eczema. I hate itchy.

Hugs!

You could place a piece of tissue over the nipples so to avoid the rubbing that will occur as you move about throughout the day.  Even a little bit of movement in the binder will translate to pain.  A change in weather (temp or humidity) could affect this as well.

All my best to you,

Jani

I too wear a binder but I have only had this one for a year and have had no problems, I am no expert but I am just guessing it's the age of the binder?

Gc2B is the first answer that comes to mind, as I have a few of their binders and find them to be comparatively comfortable and breathable. They are not the cheapest, but you really need the best because you don't want to casuse any long lasting damage to your lungs at this age.

Yeah, that’s where I got mine. There are some you can buy on amazon but they’re trash. I suggest  underworks as a second option
