For the first time, yes Doctor Rumer did it in office. After that, well, the power is yours.

Sort of like training wheels on your first bicycle.  You'll be wobbly at first but then it becomes natural.

Yeah, I'm thinking it'll be less uncomfortable as the swelling goes down. That can happen any minute now. Any minute...

Hugs!

Well your profile pic still shows you smiling.  How bad can it be?  LOL

Just Kidding .  I'm sure you are a lot tougher then I will be during that.

Swelling up for no good reason is apparently one of my super powers. I kind of expected it after I had my eyebrows done. The swelling really freaked out my tattoo artist.

I'm hoping the downstairs remodel heals as nicely. Right now it looks more like somebody dropped a roast beef sandwich.

Hugs!

Maybe you should change your thread title to "Jackie goes for lay down comedy routine, knocks it out of the park"?

On a more serious note though, if you're at all like me, the humor is to disguise the discomfort. I hope you heal quickly and can get back to your regular routines.

Got me. Humor is how I deal with stress. Surprisingly comfortable here in the lounge though. I think I'm getting the hang of how to sit. I hope so anyway. There's a lot more sitting before I'm home.

Jackie, glad all is going well with the exception of the swelling you’re having.  One of my lady friends just had her revision revised again because after her swelling went down, she had trouble with the direction of her urinary stream.  Have you had any issues with regards to this?

My Best,

Susan R?

It does tend to be a little "messy"looking for a bit.  I couldn't look for a week (weak stomach)!

Right now it goes basically everywhere and makes a hissing noise like a nest of snakes. I'm still very, very swollen though.

I'm going to dilate at noon then take a nap in my own bed. That's as about as close to heaven as I can imagine right now.

I hope you are resting peacefully. It sounds like you are making some progress in your recovery.

Jackie C,  when you say things like this I just bust out laughing. I hope I don't think about what you said and start laughing in the operating theater before I am put under.  When I went in for my FFS I was very teary-eyed until I was put under.

I know, right? Her description of undergoing surgery (of all things!) has been one of the most entertaining reads in my life! She's the best anti-depressant I've ever taken!

Side effects may include uncontrollable outbursts of laughter, coffee-covered keyboards, and puzzled onlookers. Ask your doctor if Jackie C. is right for you!

Milestone last night: I slept on my SIDE! You have no idea how wonderful that was. As a bonus, I also didn't wake myself with my own snoring. That happened a LOT on the train.

The night sweats are somewhere around "Monsoon" levels. I'm a little surprised I didn't float out of bed. Four more days until I can start my precious HRT again.

The cats are remarkably curious about dilation, and want to help. Fortunately, the latch on the door works. I'm having enough trouble keeping my schedule thank you very much.

Hugs!

So glad to hear things are going forward at a good pace Jackie!

Again you make me giggle over the cats and their willingness to help.  You slay me some days.

Thank you I needed a good laugh as this day is not a good one for me.

I thought you were getting pampered today! With a glamour shoot! That sounds awesome! Especially to someone is dreading going downstairs to move the laundry into the dryer. The basement steps are HARD.

That's later.

I'm at work by myself pining over my failing marriage and trying to stay focused.

@Jackie C. I'm a side sleeper and I was told to put a pillow between my legs for support for at least a few weeks.  Concerning the night sweats, it could be the result of you going back on estrogen after being off for surgery.  My doctor cleared me one week afterwards.  I went back to full dose and really had trouble so I cut back to half for a couple weeks  (I use patches) which saved me.

Hey @Jani! I'm not back on my precious, precious E again until Tuesday. My internal thermometer has been on a rampage since about two weeks before surgery and it only got worse afterwards. I've been bouncing back and forth from "Dear goddess, it's hot!" and "When did it get so cold? What can we light on fire?" with not a lot in between. The night sweats have been prodigious. The pillow is a good idea though. It should take some pressure off my nethers. Between your thighs, knees or calves? I'm guessing thighs. That seems to be where the most swelling is.

@ShawnaLeigh, your marriage is completely out of your hands. All you can do is be the best wife you can be and hope she changes her mind. My wife has trouble with this too. Worrying over things where you can't affect the outcome doesn't help anyone. Instead, look forward to the pampering a little? I would LOVE to be able to take advantage of something like that. In a couple months. When I can move right again.

And maybe get some work done. It sounds like you've got a pretty cool place of business, it would be a shame if they had to delete you for something as silly as not doing your job.

In the meantime, pampering, upcoming orchi, hot lesbian doctor... honestly, that sounds like the lead in for some niche porn.

In this I have no worries.  I have completed 8 hours of work orders in 5 hours.  I take a break or two throughout the day.  LOL

Plus I work alone so there is no one here to watch over me.  LOL

Good morning, everyone! I've finally pretty much finished with this head cold. I actually got 5.5 hours of straight sleep last night without taking any cold medication...or waking up to pee. I feel amazingly rested!!   Oh, @Willow, you are in my thoughts and prayers that your throat issue becomes less of a problem over time and not more.   I'm, hopefully, going to get our grass cut today. It takes me somewhere between 2.5 and 3 hours on the zero turn mower but the ground is still so wet that I'll have to slow down a bit. At least it's supposed to be sunny and around 60.   Have a wonderful day!!

We have had some real dillies come out as the initiative sort of thing, but as @Carolyn Marie said, very few make it out of the petition signing seasons.  I am not surprised at the origin site of this thing, it is probably one of only 3 regressive leaning counties we have in the state. We actually had one of these initiatives started to make it mandatory for police to shoot dead on site any Gay behaving individuals wherever they found them.  For the most part the matters are poorly written in ways to be unenforceable even if enacted.  Thus most never become law or get to the voters.

You make some good points, AYS.  But there are usually already too many ballot propositions each election, so the proponents know it's best to wrap it all up into a nice package.  Plus, it's easier for the signature gatherers.  Otherwise they have to have a separate clipboard for each proposition.  Too much paperwork, dontcha know?   This kind of proposition is a loser in CA, so the only possible way the proponents can succeed is to give it the scariest title imaginable and try to put one over on the voters before they get wise.  Bottom line; an ice cube on a hot summer sidewalk has a better chance of success.   Carolyn Marie

Reading that article, it seems like the attorney general gets to call it whatever unless its an outright lie.  Given the nature of politics in CA, it seems like one side has the bully pulpit for sure.  Labeling it "Restricts Rights" vs "Protects Kids" is very much a matter of perspective.  Unfortunately, that matters since many voters don't bother to read.  Perhaps a better (unbiased) way to handle it would be to simply give the ballot measure a number with no title, forcing folks to read it.    I think it would have been better to handle the various issues covered by the ballot measure separately, rather than all at once.  For example, issues relating to disclosure of medical and social information to parents.  That could be its own ballot measure, rather than lumped in with everything else.  Besides, shorter and more succinct measures are more likely to be read completely.

Seen my hrt specialist this morning and nothing but good news, estrogen levels looked good.Boyfriend was with me and I admit he has been learning well about my transition showing his support. Our relationship is going great and we both see each other much happier now.

This reminded me of an individual who, due to child sexual abuse, lived as a woman for 15 years, detransitioned and noisily insists that all trans people have his story.  His name comes up fairly often because it fits the narrative.   I don't know that anyone actually has been railroaded.  People may say it, they may look back at what happened and decide that happened.  It's a he said / she said, but it feeds a narrative that is useful for those who are already convinced that trans people are abuse victims first and foremost.  That the detransition rate is so low tells me that railroading is not actually a problem, and I regret giving the impression that I thought it was.  That so few detransition is a success story.   What is pertitent at heart is that people hear and believe all the stories out there, and the story we have to tell is not heard, because TG folk are, after all, untrustworthy in their view and unworthy of an audience.  Somehow it needs to get out there as to what the real situation is.
