Belle's New Look

Belle

I've been having so much fun with makeup and clothes this week! I wanted to post a couple of selfies I took after spending way too much time on makeup. I had thought it was going to be terrible until I finally put on the foundation and it all came together. This is a blast!

The eyes are very good.  Your lower lip needs a little less volume and the top a little more to even up the mouth look.  You are on the way girl.

Thank you Vicky! That is a helpful tip!

I'm planning on going out to a club tomorrow night (I guess technically it's tonight) because it's trans night. Hopefully I'll be able to get my makeup on faster this time.

LIps on this second one are more even, guess the top one was how you were posing your mouth if you did not change it.

No I didn't change it. It must have been how I was holding my mouth.

I had such a difficult time with the eyes tonight. It turned out okay but not like I wanted. And my glasses hide them some.

A brow tip I learned was take a flat brush with eyebrow powder (I actually use a blush powder)  put the brush in this I beam direction "|" at the nose end of the brow, and rotate it to "__" at the cheek end of it.  It is a bit of calligraphy if you get me, but it starts wider and narrows at the outside.

Looking good Belle! I think upper lips get thinner with age. If so then a thinner top lip would make you look older.

Pre Diabetic is a range on your Hb a1c blood test, your range can go back to  Pre from full blown diabetes if your diet and meds are being taken care of properly.  Congratulations on getting your life in shape.  It's a good thing.  What with cooking for myself these days I am probably going to do better there myself.

Well, h*ck, it seems like you are on the right path; congrats! :0

Contrary to what some have said, I definitely think you can be cis and have dysphoria; there are many reasons why one might have it other than being transgender, including the fact that gender expression is just plain wonky from culture to culture (and even subcultures and communities).   That being said, it is a lot more common for trans people people I'll give you three anecdotes: My cousin came out as a (trans) boy to supportive parents a few years ago with a similar story to yours, but has since come to the conclusion that she (her pfp) is actually a butch lesbian-- she doesn't want to be a boy, but enjoys the "masculinity" (I put that in quotes because a butch friend once informed me that it was a different kind of masculinity?) My spouse had a lot of gender dysphoria as a kid and into adulthood, but enjoyed some "traditionally feminine" things like makeup. They have since come to the conclusion that they are non-binary and genderfluid. (For them, gender is like an expressive art form. They don't wear makeup to hide, they wear makeup as a way of expression.) For me, I do go through phases of gender dysphoria, sometimes it is okay, sometimes it is bad. Sometimes I just really want to be feminine, sometimes it is fun to be masc. Most of the time, I just don't care about gender; it's overrated (until it's not). I kept a diary, tracked my patterns over the course of a year, and decided that I definitely need to go on hormones even if I occasionally don't mind my body. I came to the conclusion that I am genderqueer.   All three of us had dysphoria. In my cousin's case, she is cis, in mine and my spouse's case, we are trans, and I'm the only one doing medical transition.

Congratulations!  Telling family is one of the hardest steps to take, and you've done it!  "On your side" is a very good start.   Good luck talking to the gender therapist tomorrow.   Kathy

Well step 2 was taken   I told my dad and my sister.  They were both very supportive.  Not crazy supportive... They need some time to digest, but they're on my side.   I have a call with a gender therapist tomorrow.

Copy places or Office Depot, etc. Take the file on a stick or disc and they'll print it. I'm very happy for you. And a bit jealous over my having to continue waiting. But I'm happy for you still. You got this gal! TA

Yes especially at first it's a real rollercoaster ride! Between the highs and lows, going from being ecstatic one minute and crying uncontrollably the next I found that every emotion that I felt just added to the affirmation that I was on my way to being the woman I was meant to be. It's a wild and fun ride so hang on tight!

Congratulations KathyLauren! Congratulations Willow! I could do with a narrower waist, I'm built like a barrel! Someday things will get back to normal and I can commence HRT. Soon, please, soon!?! TA

@Susan R Thank you so much for your advice! I have always been irregular, but when I was 14 I did have anorexia which caused me to not have a period for an entire year. I am now at a healthy weight, and my doctor is not worried about the irregularity especially since my mom and older sister were both irregular for a long time. I did download clue and will be monitoring whether they seem related. It seems like a great app!

I would like to comment on this subject. I think for me it’s more how I feel. I own both female and make clothes. I use to have mini skirts and dresses but I had to sell them because money got tight. I had a wig but I got rid of it because it was to hot on my head and made me itch plus it wasn’t convincing me I was a woman. I sold my dresses to. I’m down to panties and nightgowns now. I can choose my undergarment on how I feel that day. My men’s clothes are unisex so it doesn’t matter. I’ve bought men’s bright clothes to bring out my feminine side. I can also choose how I want to present inner self. Sometimes I will shave my legs and other times I won’t. My personality though is more of a woman’s. I’m a writer, journal, soft spoken, very emotional, love romance, and love to dress cute regardless of its men’s or women’s I am always put together. I thought I was a trans man but I’ve begun to see in my journey that I just have female traits. So am I a cross dresser? I will never label myself because labels mean you belong to a group. I am me and if I am truly free that means I can be a woman or man. When someone or myself needs a little love that is when Tessa comes out and when I need to think logical about something I use my woman’s intuition. If I need to be strong and brave my manly side comes out that is not to say woman aren’t strong and brave but in my case that’s when my male side shows up. I do think I primarily live in my woman brain though. If this has made sense to you or helped you in anyway please comment.    love to all    Tessa 👩‍🦰

I tried to talk to my mom a little but she just makes me feel like the way I feel isn't correct like I'm wrong in some way for feeling this. I might try and talk to my aunt though.

She finally got back with me I got my spironolactone. The only bad news is I'm pre diabetic. Which worries me, because she knows I'm diabetic according to me telling her, my health records and the metformin I take. Oh well no more fruits I guess. Also I was low in Vitamin D. I used to drink close to a gallon of milk i day, but I gave up everything but water when i quit drinking pop. All I know is I'm happy again. Which is extremely rare. So I need to savor the moment, before it leaves. Big hugs and kisses to everyone who comes to my aid when I think the sky is falling.

Hormone blockers/testosterone is really the only way, or you could just be in constant stress like me. You have to be patient, these things take time. It is possible that she wasn't trying to lie to you, many parents suggest the same thing while being unaware of the hormones in birth control. I usually just try to wish the testosterone to appear, maybe if I just flex enough it will be beckoned into my systems.
