Yesterday I finally got my name changed. First thing I did was to renew my driver's license with my new name and gender marker. Social security was next. On cloud nine!! ?

Congrats @BrandiBri, it feels good doesn’t it?  I bet you’re anxious to get carded with your new ID.  Great timing and gift for yourself since I just noticed that it’s your birthday? too.  I’m happy for you! ?

Happy Birthday hon,

Susan R?

Ya the fun begins getting everything else changed! My granddaughter's husband gave me a present for my name change, a bottle of brandy! ?

Big congrats, Brandi!  Name change is a huge step forward on the journey.  Be sure to get lots of certified copies of your berth cert, as many agencies and corporations want that and want to keep a copy.  :goodjob:

Congratulations! I did exactly the same thing the day I got my name changed.

Well, almost, I'm still working on the gender marker because Michigan laws are stupid.

Hugs!

This is my next big project.  Well, after I am done buying clothes purses and makeup.  I've been on a sorta spending spree for these things lately  LOL

Well you need clothes.

Women's clothing rarely has useful pockets so you obviously need a purse to carry your phone, wallet and keys.

Makeup is more of a luxury, but hey, if it makes you feel good about yourself...

Also, the wheels of bureaucracy turn slowly. At least in this state, the name change thing can take as long as three to four months and most of that time is "hurry up and wait."

Hugs!

Oh, I would be broke if I could finally buy my own women's wardrobe. Nordstrom here I would come. (They did my first bra fitting and were so warm and understanding).
