🤔I'm feeling the sense of exhaustion from trying to over look things that hurt/disappoint/and make you upset. But not sure adding a general connection to all women to everything bad, is fair. Yeah there are those individuals that should go back to the dark hole from where they came and good riddance, but not all women should be equated so casually as things that just are an annoyance that tire you. But that's my interpretation of the words. The way it's written, it's more targeting specific types of woman, maybe  'i love "those" women,' I feel is a more appropriate title.

Hello this is my work in progress poem meant to express how much I love women and the deeply respect the concept of womanhood. Thank you for the criticism! I hope I can make my poems easier to understand in the future. This poem is fueled by my exhaustion hurt disappointment and upset from anti feminist men and also by my awe of women and the way their existence in itself subverts the patriarchy. In the poem I name different categories of women that inspire me (all of the women in the poem but especially women named alexa, katrina, and marta [atl public transit,] [couldnt think of a rhyme for siri but shout out to siri, you go girl) nurses, and women who wish all men death.] I also am attempting to reference common anti-feminist 'complaints' to reject them for example although it's not common for womens words to scar you, even if they did, I would still respect her. The poem is meant to express my awe for all women and my complete subjugation to them. What are types of women that exist? I would like to shout out more types of women and also make my point more clear as I would hate to seem to spread the opposite of the literal message of my poem entitled I love women.

Women who foster children

Women who lost millions

Women who's always on their phones

Women with student loans

Women own.

Women make me weak

Women who tweak

Women who miles in a week

Women who stay inside

Women make me glad to be alive

Women with her own hair salon

Women with brains and brawn

Women are like the dawn

Women who turn over a new leaf

Women who use a booster seat

Women with right shoe on left foot

Women. Good.

I think it was the last line that made me think it was more a sarcastic love, not a love of being winded from awe.  And maybe it's a bit of my own perspectives that gave me my first thoughts. But this is why we discuss these things cuz not everybody sees things the same way. But it definitely makes the nurse part fit, but I'm not so sure bout the "women wishing all men death, " part. This isn't something I believe that should be respected. I think there's enough death in the world as is, there is no need to be wishing for more. I wish you success in your future writing pursuits. Thank you for posting.

The rest of the work is fine. The only other pick I got is the "Women. Good." at the end is a bit weird, like in a "me Tarzan" sorta of way. Cuz you respect women for these specific things but then end it with all equaling the literal word "Good" instead of the more than just good you seem to want to describe/convey. The "Women are like the dawn," part I think is better at describing your awe, love and respect for women. Just my perspectives. Many thanks for posting. Hope to see more future work.

Nice to meet you @key plate! and welcome! You've found a great place to let this out.  We are all here facing both similar and different obstacles to transition, but all with the same hope ... to be happy. I cannot and should not give you advice about your mother.  You seem to know her well, since your are not surprised but rightfully disappointed by her response. I do hope you make the choices that are best for yourself (and not somebody else) but ... When its all said and done, she still is and will forever be your mother.  Don't let go of the love in your heart for her (it seems like she needs it)   Deep breaths ... one step at a time❤️

People who are sincerely kind (without expectation of anything in return) are truly compassionate.  They are that way because they know deep down that we are all intimately inter-connected as part of this complex and eternal universe.   You figured it out, @Mary Jane.  You are enlightened❣️

    • Liam da potato
I don't know how u did that but it's really impressive if your ok with comments I' say that the nose with mouth are not really on the vertical line that separates the head in 2, if you understand what I mean. (not my drawing) Mouth and nose are like that \ and eyes like that | But seriously that's really good!

Bless you Sweetie. . .hang on 'til the sun comes back up!

I dressed someone else's feeling about that very same sort of thing. What i said then and strongly suggest now is that you find a gender therapist! Like alcohol counselors, it is most typically Gender Therapists are trans themselves and so have been through the early stages of doubt and confusion and come through with experience and the knowledge that provides.  Hope that offers you some hope and help?

Thank you girls for all the really kind and hilarious comments, a few of those I laughed out loud so hard I think it shook the walls! I’m sure I’ll get through it just fine, I’ve already mixed up the jug of horribleness and have everything ready for tomorrow morning. Not my first rodeo so I’ll just “go with the flow”! Hugs to you all! Jackie

Hi Charlotte!  Yes, I might say that, but I guess what I was really saying is .. .You can identify however you want (or not).  Its your life .. your identity .. and don't worry if it changes as you discover more of yourself.

Thank you Kay 💕   Tw/cw: so much. Sexual harassment, alcoholism, drug mention, suicidal ideation... I'll keep anything triggering I mention brief and vague. I don't really want to talk about it anyway.    So I haven't been active here for almost two weeks. I just caught up with all the posts I missed. Didn't introduce or say anything helpful to anyone. I've been so stressed, busy, tired... Anyway, sorry.    Transition wise I've been great. I feel more like a woman than ever.    Life in general not so great. My last paycheck, despite working 2/3 full time, was pathetic. I think the state is finally collecting on all my traffic violations. I'm dead broke.    The past few months I was in a poly relationship with two trans gf's and a cis bf. I more or less broke up with all of them on the 4th of july. Gf #1 just used me for money and had no desire to be intimate with me so I ditched her in the middle of the day. Gf #2 ghosted me like a month ago enough said. The bf and I had a wonderful 4th of july, neighbors setting off fireworks and magic everywhere, one of the best 4ths ever. But then later that night he assaulted me for lighting a cig in the house (like jumped on me and ripped it out my hand). It was pretty terrifying. So anyway that's done. Me and him still live together as roomates. We made up and are being civil. But he still kinda scares me. I dunno.   Another roomate, a 60 yo man, came onto me. Grabbed my butt and boobs, said he wanted to have sex later. I froze and just let it happen (the grabbing, not the sex). Anyway, he hasn't brought it up since. But between him and the ex-bf, being home is just scary. A couple nights later I went out to a nearby bar bc it was sunday and I was shook up and wanted a drink. Right away another 60 yo chaser started hitting on me and tried to tempt me with crack and meth to come to his place and do dirty. I slammed my drinks, let him talk his talk and walked out.    Then just the other night on the train on my way home from work, some homeless guy crept up right next to me, whipped out his peni and started jerking it while staring me down. I got up quick and ran to the other end of the car, then ran to the next car at the next train station.    I've been spending most of the past few weeks crying and not sleeping, hoping I don't become a statistic. I feel like I aged 15 years in two weeks. And I'm drinking again. And no, I don't want to talk about that in some sort of intervention kinda way. If I ever do I know there's the section on alcohol and substance abuse. It's the only solace I want or need right now. At least it hasn't violated me like the government or men have.    Anyway, I'm polishing off some rum and seltzer, cuddling with my cat and chilling to some vaporwave, so life is tolerable in this moment. Here's to another day...    ~Toni
