Bleeding depression

The void

Endless expanse

In hollow feeling

Curled in the dark

A trivial drop

In reality

No way of seeing

No way of breathing

Drowning empty

Forever holding

Forever waiting

Nevermore being

As it consumes

Removing all

Matters of meaning

Till all is left

Is the void

Into Space

Not much left

Not much care

Starring into space

Never

Know what's there

Is it worth

Is it great

Maybe

I should just wait

Starring into space

A 1920s jazz song I wrote,

'I'm happy... for now'

Everything's fine

Everything's great

Everything's sweet like a piece of cake

I'm happy

Oh... so Happy

For Now

Everything's well

Everything's swell

Everything's cool like the bottom of hell

I'm happy

Oh... I'm happy

For Now

Meeting in the moon

Meeting you in tune

Singing to you my mood

To reach out to you

Everything's fine

Everything's great

Everything's sweet like cake

Oh...I'm Happy

Can't you tell

SO Damn Happy

Oh oh so happy

Oh... I'm happy

For now

Another 1920's song

Danc'n and a Swing'n

Come my little bunny

My honey dear

Danc'n and a Swing'n

Till the night is done

Come my little bunny

So sweet and strong

Danc'n and a Swing'n along

We just might get a little tipsy

After a drink or two

Take my hand and come join with me

Having fun till dawn

Come my little bunny

My honey dear

Hop'n and a Bop'n

Till the night is gone

Come my little bunny

So cute and fine

Danc'n and a swing'n tonight

We just might get a little spiffy

After flirting awhile

So take my hand

And come join with me

Having fun till dawn......

Come my little bunny

My honey dear

Danc'n and a Swing'n

Till the night is done

Come my little bunny

So sweet and strong

Danc'n and a Swing'n...

Hop'n and a Bop'n...

Danc'n and a Swing'n and

Hop'n and a Bop'n

Danc'n and a Swing'n along

I like "I'm Happy for Now," I listen to a lot of songs and artists like that, a false sense of joy that is hiding a depth of sadness. Hobo Johnson is a great example of that, or you could listen to Anxious by Hippocampus it has a lot of that too. I would like to hear it to music, that would be cool...

Took more chorus than to my liking when I was in school, but love music. Like musicals, live music, big sounding stuff. Once in a while I like to think of those small little old joints in a basement somewhere. Cig smoke and other heavy air, you got a piano, maybe a brass, a string, wind, a bunch of grumpy folks young and old drinking, and somebody who sings to reach outside literally grabbing people with their voice to be heard.  Can probably sing a female and male version? It would just take practice so it doesn't sound too terrible. Thank you for the review and the music referral. I like listening to different things. ?

Rhyming time

Stuck in space

Without a place

Floating adrift

With no way to shift

Wishing for bliss

But what did I miss

Rhyming is fun

But easy to shun

Like my face

Covered in mace

Too much waste

If only for a taste

For the simple love

Like a white dove

Easy to spot

If only had a shot

To keep up pace

To end this race

Out of tune

Feel like the whale

That sung out of tune.

Too high pitched

For any whale review.

Adrift at sea,

To oceans deep,

Search for the one

To join in and sing.

All so far now,

Haunts an empty reply

For the whale

That sung too high.

Those are amazing. I really like the second one. And happy for now it's my jam

Many thanks, the recognition is most appreciated. ?It can be difficult at times to write, let alone post feelings, gets a bit overwhelming. Tend to destroy more work than make just out of frustration. But I really like the little song "I'm happy...for now" too. Helps me get past the overwhelming feelings of anger and disappointment with a slight admission, even though I'm just not satisfied with the reality as it is, I still need to grin on past and just be happy, even for a second, and it won't last forever. Have another bit I wanted to post for a while but guess "fear is the mind killer." -Dune

-Once upon

Once upon a dream

I've wondered where you've been

Living in your fantasies

Shooting for the stars

So high above it all

In your warped reality

Are you feeling cold

Are you all alone

Are you even there

For anything at all

Or are you lost

Once upon a dream

I've pondered if you have been

Ever worried for thee

Dancing through the days

All blurred in a haze

In this twisted life we lead

Are you in pain

Was it all in vain

Was it even worth

For what was let astray

Or are you blind

Trapped inside

With nowhere to hide

Caught in the web of lies

The hell we devised...

Resigned to

Once upon a dream

I wondered

Once upon a dream

I pondered

Once upon ...

A rainbow shines like the colors of your mind.

As spectral lights glisten through passing mist, as clear crystal reflects.

Enlightened by the light's rays gaze in gentle kiss.

There's no need to chase the rainbow, though it may fade from sight.

As we traverse and remain aware and prepare.

In the right moment it will be there, as you look for thee by chance.

When clear crystals and drops meet light.

The rainbow will shine again with it's brilliance enchanting life.

If you like it, write her a nice review. I worry about her self-esteem sometimes.

Hugs!

@Mx.Drago I really like your poetry, especially 'I'm happy... for now' I was visualizing sitting at a table in a smokey bar as a women onstage sings the words you wrote. I am hearing it sung similarly to blue skies. Please keep sharing your work with us. It is a balm to my soul.

I also loved the quote from Dune. I just wish I could control my fear by reciting the fear is the mind killer litany. I sometimes feel like transitioning is our Gom Jabber.

This really speaks to me! Feeling out of place for the last 60 years with no one I could really relate to.

I have read some of it, mostly in areas specifically targeted at the LGBTQ+ peoples.   You also have to take into account what and who is behind the words, not just the words themselves. Together that creates context, right? Let's take some examples, under the Department of Health & Human Services section:   "Radical actors inside and outside government are promoting harmful identity politics that replaces biological sex with subjective notions of “gender identity” and bases a person’s worth on his or her race, sex, or other identities. This destructive dogma, under the guise of “equity,” threatens American’s fundamental liberties as well as the health and well-being of children and adults alike."   or   "Families comprised of a married mother, father, and their children are the foundation of a well-ordered nation and healthy society. Unfortunately, family policies and programs under President Biden’s HHS are fraught with agenda items focusing on “LGBTQ+ equity,” subsidizing single-motherhood, disincentivizing work, and penalizing marriage. These policies should be repealed and replaced by policies that support the formation of stable, married, nuclear families."   From a wording perspective, who doesn't want to protect the health and well-being of Americans or think that families aren't good for America? But let's take a look at the author, Roger Severino. He's well-quoted to be against LGBTQ+ anything, has standard christian nationalist views, supports conversion therapy, etc.   So when he uses words like "threatens the health and well-being of children and adults alike" it's not about actual health, it's about enforcing cis-gendered ideology because he (and the rest of the Heritage Foundation) believe LGBTQ+ people and communities are harmful. Or when he invokes the family through the lens of, let's just say dog whistles including the "penalization of marriage" (how and where?!), he idealizes families involving marriage of a "biological male to a biological female" and associates LGBTQ+ family equity as something unhealthy.   Who are the radical actors? Who is telling people to be trans, gay, or queer in general? No one. The idea that there can be any sort of equity between LGBTQ+ people and "normal" cis people is abhorrent to the author, so the loaded language of radical/destructive/guise/threaten are used. Families that he believes are "good" are stable/well-ordered/healthy, specifically married/nuclear ones.   Start looking into intersectionality of oppression of non-privileged groups and how that affects the concept of the family and you will understand that these platitudes are thinly veiled wrappers for christian nationalist ideology.   What's wrong with equity for queer families, to allow them full rights as parents, who are bringing up smart and able children? Or single mothers who are working three jobs to get food on plates?

Well yesterday didn't work like I wanted to. I met a guy and started talking and he was wanting to be in a relationship. I asked my kids on how they thought of me dating a man and they said gross and said no. I guess it's time to look for women. I think that is going to be harder. Oh well I guess.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"
    • Carolyn Marie
Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".
