Hi!! My name is Jade ❤️

 

So, I've very recently accepted that I am trans after so many years of lurking on trans websites and repressing. I'm so unbelievably happy and excited about it! And honestly a little scared, but you know, lol. I'm very excited to meet everyone!

 

I actually found this forum after trying to find my way to Laura's Playground. I used to spend a lot of time there several years ago when I was younger and first questioning things. I remember it was one of my favorite websites, but now I can't find it anywhere. A lot of people seem to not remember it, I guess because it was a long time ago lol. And now the URL brings me here? Is this site related to Laura's Playground?

Yes, but it was before my time so it's not really my story to tell. Not that I know much of anything. I get the impression there was drama involved but I don't really know the specifics. Not helpful to dredge up old business, y'know?

Welcome @jadewaters, It’s a pleasure to meet you. Like you, I visited Laura’s Playground years ago but only a few visits. I was still in complete denial about my identity. After such a long time denying the truth, it’s refreshing to finally accept who we are...despite that road being the one much less travelled. With good support, allies, and understanding, you’ll do well, I’m sure. Being a little scared is normal when traveling into the unknown but you may just find out it’s just what you need.

Hi Jade,

Welcome to Transpulse. I'm glad you're here!

 

Yes, this site is the old Laura's Playground. The name changed when Laura transfered the site control to another, but this is formerly Laura's Playground. Just a piece of trivia now, but it was called Laura's Playground because we were starting our new lives kind of like children.

Back around 2009 and until about 4 years ago this site was Laura's Playground, and Laura herself had managed it.  She retired as the result of a progressive illness and turned this place over to the current management who changed the name for safety reasons related to hacker attacks.  Most of the posting you read in your early days is still in our archived posts, and the Admin staff is still the same group that worked for Laura so we know the experience that you most likely had and love to keep it in the same spirit that it had been run.

 

Welcome in as an active part of the group here and we hope we can fulfill your needs and wants for the current stage of your journey.

Interesting, I didn't know that and had wondered what had ever become of Laura's Playground. Now you have me wondering if I can have my previous postings here reinstated? I had some meaty commentaries that may be useful to some of the newby's and at my age I can't recall a lot of it myself. ?

We have a large number of old posts that had to be archived when some older names did not come over during the server move when the re-named site was transferred to a new server.  The posts can be linked to new posts, but the names of the oldest members were lost and they are now identified as "guests".

I stumbled upon Laura's Playground back in the day. Didn't join, just passed through. But I heard about it. Interesting to learn this is what it became...

      Good morning    I should not have said about sleeping in, now I have to go in 2 ½ hours earlier.  Oh well at least I. Off tomorrow and Monday, I think.as of now, hope I didn’t just jinx that too.     Hot today high 80s dropping quickly and rain to the 60s for a couple of days then more normal 70s.  It just depends on which way the wind blows. Off the gulf, hotter, off the ocean, cooler, out of the north rain and when they all converge, look out.  That’s today.   i made a pot of coffee but I think most of it is going to waste.  My wife went back to bed and I’m not good with coffee when I’m hot, and I am. That’s my fault, I was 4 days.late with my E again.  I just st have a really hard time keeping on a 10 day schedule.  And my reminders aren’t helping..   now I’m going to peak by tomorrow since it isn’t all absorbed in one day, I’ll hold fairly steady but if I’m late again I’ll drop well below my target yet again.     Im down in the valley, the valley so low But I see my true love, at the top of the hill i climb the mountain, but she is not there for she has gone back down, to the valley below   I didn’t come up with a refrain and with that I’m calling the guys with the padded cells. lol   Willow

      Finding a few pictures from a trip to Thailand I went to 10 years ago.They were pictures taken with Katois aka ladyboys.It was cool to meet them and planning to go back next year.A couple of them saw I am transgender too.

      It's funny with photos isn't it, how we think we look in them vs. how we actually do look in them! I'm hopeless at smiling and I have to try really hard not to frown or look like a zombie. I'm never sure how I come across to others.   I had a moment late last night when my eldest daughter facetimed my wife for some now forgotten reason, and when I was handed the tablet and talking to her, I was fixated on my image in the corner. My hair was wild at the time, I was a bit tipsy and all I saw was a woman! I have no idea what she saw in that context. I'll probably never know.

      I hope to see you on the Zoom meeting tonight, April.  I might be late, since I am doing lights and sound for a play that opened last night.  I was home before ten last night, so I think I'll be able to make it.   Today is an anniversary for me.  Seven years ago today, I stood up at the weekly community kaffeeklatsch as <deadname> and announced that henceforth I would be Kathy.  It went as well as I could have imagined: there were some surprised looks, but no hostility and lots of support.  A whole layer of stress disappeared that day and has never come back.  (There have been other stresses, but that one is gone.)  I have been me full-time ever since that moment.

      This is a scarily accurate description of what I feel!   I hope I don't sound too schmaltzy by saying this, but I remember when I signed up to this forum last year, during the sign-up process the question is asked, "Why do you want to join TransPulse?" to which I wrote, "Looking for a home where I can freely write about my issues and interact with similar people."    I think I just found one. ❤️

      Good morning, everyone!! I was up early again - already on my third cup of coffee having walked/fed the dog and read the local paper.   We have a birthday party for a friend to go to this afternoon but no real plans otherwise.   I hope to be able to attend tonight's TGP Zoom session. It's been weeks since I've been able to participate with the illness/loss of our dog, two horrible colds in succession and our trip to chase the solar eclipse.   Have a wonderful day and look for the goodness in it.
