So the long awaited surgery to remove a lump on my left testicle is tomorrow at 1015am est.

I am getting a bi-lateral orchidectomy at the same time.
I admit to being afraid of many thing concerning this. As of now we do not know what this lump is. I’m hoping not malignant obviously but very likely with how it has reacted snd grown in such a short time.
I’m looking forward to completing the Orchidectomy and getting off Spiro.
I’m not looking forward to the pain but in the end it will be worth it.
Please wish me luck guys and girls!

I had the full GCS vaginaplasty but what my friends who have done bi-lateral Orchi's say is that it is more soreness for a few days than serious pain.  I can completely understand your worry about the lump there, cancer can drive you out of your mind nearly.  I had a suspicious growth in my right breast three months after my bottom surgery.  I had to have a needle biopsy and the procedure was not much but the four days between the biopsy and results drove me up a wall and across the ceiling.   I am still on Spiro, but for its original purpose of reducing body water for blood pressure.  Good luck and hope for the best.

Good Luck @ShawnaLeigh. I’ve heard the recovery is very fast which is not the case with many surgeries.

Best of Luck,

I could be mistaken, but I think she meant "luck".

I asked  Shawna if it would be okay with her if I relayed a play by play to the rest of the TP community. Her response was to quote our mantra: 1 + 1 = 1. So in other words 'I trust your judgement'. Angela has also graciously volunteered to call me with any updates. And I have her cell if I'm just plain overcome by worry or curiosity. Shawna and I talked for our usual 3 hours on the phone tonight, just encouraging her for tomorrow with a focus on what the coming months and years will be like. We also discussed what questions were most pertinent to ask the surgeon regarding routine pathology specimens vs frozen sections, etc

This is a lot of nervous energy and worry on my part. But I've never had a loved one go under anesthesia without me being there for support. So, it's gonna be hard for me not to be there, but I think she's in good hands with Angela.

I'm going to try and get some sleep, but I'll post as often as I can tomorrow

Hugs!

I hope everything has gone well for your surgery!

There's no scare to compare with the "c" word, so you have every right to be concerned. Trust your surgical team. They do this stuff without batting an eye. They'll take good care of you.

Then you can get on with living your live fully.

Okay....... Shawna was wheeled into the OR at about 8:32am East Coast time. Angela said that she was nervous, but who wouldn't be? No reports yet after that. She's been in the OR for about 50 minutes and the procedure is scheduled for about 2 hours, assuming no surprises.

Fingers crossed!

Correction: Just heard from Angela, She's listed as pre-op call as of 6:35 am her time. My bad.

Wonder how it went for you Shawna? I was awake when mine was done, I recall crunching up on my elbows and saying "Bye Fellas!" The little nurse holding onto the little fella to keep it out of the way of the laser knife chuckled. The surgeon asked me why I had said that and I said it had been the hard drive for some very naughty past behavior. Total elapsed time was 43 minutes start to finish.

Get several bags of frozen peas, keep it cool and get well. You'll be doing kip-ups in no time!

OK, late to the party but in my defense, I was asleep when the thread started.

Good lunch Shawna. I say that because I couldn't keep a damn thing down when I was recovering. My your digestive system not be an ass about it.

Big hugs sweetie. You'll be fine!

Best wishes on the biopsy, Shawna, as well as the orchi.  I had one and for me it was a piece of cake (although I prefer pie).  I think I took one of the pain meds they gave me.  Take care and wishing you a speedy recovery.

I hope everything went well! It was extremely painful the first couple of days when I had one teste removed. When I had mine the put an incision at my waist and went down. Regardless the first couple days are painful then after that it heals quick

Ok I’m home. Everything went very smoothly and I have almost no pain.  I feel great knowing that lump and those two little evil doers are out for good.
Im sure this evening the pain will visit me and move in like a unwanted relative that doesn’t know when to leave.
Thank you all for your support!❤️❤️❤️

@awkward-yet-sweet, good for you! I hope it works out. We all know about the three basic things required for happiness; someone to love, something to do and something to look forward to. You've just ticked a couple of boxes there!

There is no question that what is going on is abusive, and an overreach of authority with regard to going after medical records. Where things get a little dodgy, The Health Information Portability and Accountability Act includes clauses that permit a healthcare entity to disclose information relevant to a criminal investigation. It is not a carte blanche offering of the entire medical record. It will be interesting as the attorneys general in a number of R states have tried to criminalize our treatment, especially kids. As such, it will be interesting if they will be permitted to engage in these fishing expeditions.   These AGs are so convinced that their fantasies of transitioning kids are being held hostage and forced to transition, are being done to punish the kids. I am fed up with their overreach of authority. Unfortunately some supremely elevated jurists seem to be somewhat polarized and are supporting their R associates no matter what the science says. It is truly sad.

Had a new neighbor come over last night and we talked getting to know each other more.Saw there was something about me when we first met.Nice to me and I did tell her I am transgender. Then she opened up to me,said she is like me.Her name is Natalie, she lives and dresses as female since she was 23.Said since she was 5 years old as a little boy, alway liked the feminine clothing and had the dream of wearing them.Like me,she lost her parents at age 23 whom were very controlling of her and knew it was time let the inner woman side of her to come out.She is married to a very supportive wife, wife loves it.

What do you do to make someone else feel better or just smile?
    • Heather Shay
A mixture of good and bad.

EXCITEMENT The feeling when you expect something good or nice will happen to you. You cannot wait for it to happen. You feel excitement when something very nice is about to happen. For example, when you are about to see a good friend who just returned from a year abroad, when you just received the keys for your new car, or when you are waiting in line for a thrilling rollercoaster ride. In each case, you are experiencing eagerness and impatience in expectation of the upcoming pleasant experience. Excitement is more likely when the anticipated experience is both novel or unique and desirable. It is especially intense if you have been waiting for a long time to obtain the goal, or when excitement is shared with other people and the event makes you feel like you are part of something bigger.

https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-news/several-attorneys-general-made-abusive-legal-demands-get-trans-patient-rcna147910     This is a complex issue and I'm no expert, but the actions of these GOP Attorney's General don't pass the smell test.  Their motivations and actions are highly suspect and they lack any credibility.  What else is new, right?  I guess it will all come out in the inevitable court fight.   Carolyn Marie

I went to work with my husband today.  He asked me this morning if I wanted to go...of course I said yes.  I enjoy being with him, and getting away from the house for a little while.  He spent half the day in his office, which I think is why he asked me along.  He made a nest in the corner for me, where I can plug in my laptop and do my stuff...nobody minds me being there.     But today ended up with a strange opportunity.  I had a conversation with my husband's boss, the company owner.  They want some basic graphic design work done, so I think they might hire me to do it.  Nothing fancy, not nearly as complicated as what I've attempted to do for our county.  So I have a meeting with them on Monday, just to look at some details and see if I can do the work they want.  And especially talk about when they need it done, because I still work pretty slowly.  I don't really need or want the money, but its nice to feel like I can do something again.

I went to WM today with the objective of buying sandals: they would be women's, but look like men's; they would be brown or black, not white.  I realized the cheapest way to go  was to go for flip-flops, which I observed were prevalent in the store. So I checked out the women's.  Flowers. White shiny straps. Nothing that could possibly be men's. The best deal was one flip flop for $3.98.  At first I thought that was a pair, then, nope.  And because I comparison shop (is there the same thing in men's?) I found the cheapest over there was $6.98 for a pair of flip flops in green that also match my women's cargo shorts that I love.  Doing the math, finding the pink tax.  Rip off.  I have found a blue tax this way, but usually they charge women more for something than they do men. I guess women tend to lose one flip flop at a time or something. Weird.  The pairs were a lot higher.   So, following my rule, but unhappy with it, I bought the green men's flip flops.  They were the cheapest.  Later wife of mine complimented how masculine I look in my matching shorts and flip-flops.  Inward groan. We have not discussed the Subject in a long time because I think she forgets it is there as soon as the conversation ends.  Or she is trying to talk me out of this.  Not sure.  We only discuss it when necessary, and how often do most couples discuss whether one spouse is one sex or the other? Outside of here, I mean.  So we very seldom talk about it and she is happier if she does not know about it. Super stealth.  I do the laundry and I shower in the shower in the wing away  from the master bed room so I have my own shower.
