Recently I find myself with a massive green thumb. I am attempting to propagate my succulent and taking care of my baby sequoia tree :)) It has grown at least 4" since I got it. My other sequoia is around a 1' tall and still growing heathily :))

Awww...Happy little ?...Grow fast, tall, and strong little one.

?That monster. That's messed up. I'm happy your neighbor broke his machine, teach them a lesson. So happy plants are so resilient. Always wanted to grow a wall of bamboo with honeysuckle, ivy and morning glories. Bamboo is a devilish plant but I love it's usefulness.

My hobby is astrophotography.  I have a backyard observatory that I built myself, several very capable telescopes, and a fancy cooled camera.  I have been into astronomy all my life, but only got serious about it ten years ago.  The observatory is fully automated, so I can fire it up any night when the sky is clear, and it will take pictures while I sleep.

The hard part is "developing" the pictures.  It is all digital, of course, but there is a lot of semi-technical, semi-artistic work that has to be done to turn the raw images into something worthy of posting.

Here is a recent example that I am quite pleased with:

?So cool...and pretty.

NB, those tomatoes look delicious.

Kathy, make sure you give us a heads up when that rogue comet is going to wipe us out. LOL.

Patti, The music is why I am into Car audio. if you ever seem me driving with out the radio on something is wrong. My oldest plays the Sax. He was in the Wyoming High School All-State marching band and marched the 7+ miles of the Rose parade in 2004. Also did the main street parade at Disney land two days before . At one time he wanted to be a HS band director. Sight unheard, he was offered first chair at University of Florida. Just from his experience. Now he is the one I haven't talked to in over a month.

My middle and youngest were in choir. My middle son did the ambassadors of Music for WY. and toured Europe. England, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Germany. When you and Shawna visit, I'll tell you the family joke about his travels.

I enjoy two passion hobbies, maintaining a 6000 gallon Koi pond that I constructed and stocked years ago and growing tomatoes and green peppers from seed during the summer months. We can what we don't eat right away.

?I love fish, they are so relaxing to care for, if you have the space and meditation time space for it.

Those tomatoes look really good and very clean. Must be a very happy plant, but healthy fruit, is worth it.?

Karma!  HA!

I might be the major geek here ?... my main hobby is birding.  For those not familiar, unofficially, birdwatching usually means watching the birds in the backyard.  Birding is like hunting, going to other areas and actually searching for different species.  I was an avid birder for a few years, but haven't gotten out as much lately, settling for watching the birds in the backyard.  I have a good place for it... have seen 102 species in or over my place.  I keep up around a dozen feeders.  A bear took down 3 last night, btw.  Between WV and OR, my life list stands at 232 species.  To birding geeks that means something but most people just don't get it, haha.  I think the best thing about birding is that you can do it anywhere, even the Walmart parking lot.  Here's one of my favorite photo captures (a red-breasted sapsucker):

NB those pics are wicked awesome! Between the fresh veggies and koi pond you have a sweet life going on in just the right niche for you. Good positive passion there.

Yep, but I actually had some nice texts from him. No mention of him still being mad at me about things. Tomorrow is my grandson's 5th birthday. I had to make sure all the presents that were sent from Amazon got there.

That's great @Aidan5 that you're growing plants! There a perfect metaphor for your stage of life. You nurture the plants to maintain everything on the outside to the best condition. You provide all the right things to make the outside reach full growth potential. But what you see of that plant is literally only half of it. Those strong beautiful roots are what keeps it alive.Beneath that soil grows many roots in many different directions seeking nourishment, growing strength daily and making a solid foundation. Your feelings are those roots. They might be beneath the surface where your parents can't see them, but they're most definitely a strong and essential part of you. They're the core of your existence and no on can take that from you. Keep on being the amazing person you are and grow those roots to stabilize your life. Small metaphor--my cruel neighbor purposely mowed over my ivy plants. He moved over the protective rocks I put around them, broke his machine and there was only 1 single leaf left. I brought that leaf upstairs and now he's over 18" long with no signs of stopping. Nurture the roots beneath the surface and build your foundation man.

That was so cool of you to say- er type. haha. That really made my day and to help with the metaphor, I am growing succulents. Which, can have leaves torn off and each of those leaves that were torn off will grow back new plants and if you cut the roots, a new plant. If you take the stump, a new plant! As long as you have something, it's possible to regrow. I never would have made the connection if you didn't comment that :)) Wowie, I now hold my plants closer to my heart now, thank you.

Your'e welcome, but really, you just did all that thinking and found the solution completely on your own. Your core is strong and intelligent and I know that with this positive attitude, you will thrive as strongly as the plants you nurture. Wishing you all the best!

Good morning everyone,   @KymmieLI hope you're misreading your bosses communications. As you say keep plugging a long. Don't give them signs that you're slow quitting, just to collect unemployment.   I have a few things to do business wise, and will be driving to the St. Louis, MO area for two family gatherings.   Have a great day,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Good morning everyone, TGIFF   It seems like I am the one keeping or shop from being the best. According to the boss. I don't know if my days are numbered or not. But anymore I am waiting for the axe to fall. Time will tell.   I keep plugging a long.   Kymmie

AMUSEMENT The feeling when you encounter something silly, ironic, witty, or absurd, which makes you laugh. You have the urge to be playful and share the joke with others. Similar words: Mirth Amusement is the emotional reaction to humor. This can be something that is intended to be humorous, like when someone tells a good joke or when a friend dresses up in a ridiculous costume. But it can also be something that you find funny that was not intended to be humorous, like when you read a sign with a spelling error that turns it into an ironic pun. For millennia, philosophers and scholars have been attempting to explain what exactly it is that makes something funny. This has led to several different theories. Nowadays, the most widely accepted one is the Incongruity Theory, which states that something is amusing if it violates our standards of how things are supposed to be. For example, Charlie Chaplin-style slapstick is funny because it violates our norms of competence and proper conduct, while Monty Python-style absurdity is funny because it violates reason and logic. However, not every standard or norm violation is necessarily funny. Violations can also evoke confusion, indignation, or shock. An important condition for amusement is that there is a certain psychological distance to the violation. One of the ways to achieve this is captured by the statement ‘comedy is tragedy plus time’. A dreadful mistake today may become a funny story a year from now. But it can also be distant in other ways, for instance, because it happened to someone you do not know, or because it happens in fiction instead of in real life. Amusement also needs a safe and relaxed environment: people who are relaxed and among friends are much more likely to feel amused by something. A violation and sufficient psychological distance are the basic ingredients for amusement, but what any one person find funny will depend on their taste and sense of humor. There are dozens of ‘humor genres’, such as observational comedy, deadpan, toilet humor, and black comedy. Amusement is contagious: in groups, people are more prone to be amused and express their amusement more overtly. People are more likely to share amusement when they are with friends or like-minded people. For these reasons, amusement is often considered a social emotion. It encourages people to engage in social interactions and it promotes social bonding. Many people consider amusement to be good for the body and the soul. By the end of the 20th century, humor and laughter were considered important for mental and physical health, even by psychoneuroimmunology researchers who suggested that emotions influenced immunity. This precipitated the ‘humor and health movement’ among health care providers who believed that humor and laughter help speed recovery, including in patients suffering from cancer1). However, the evidence for health benefits of humor and laughter is less conclusive than commonly believed2. Amusement is a frequent target of regulation: we down-regulate it by shifting our attention to avoid inappropriate laughter, or up-regulate it by focusing on a humorous aspect of a negative situation. Interestingly, amusement that is purposefully up-regulated has been found to have the same beneficial physical and psychological effects as the naturally experienced emotion. Amusement has a few clear expressions that emerge depending on the intensity of the emotion. When people are mildly amused, they tend to smile or chuckle. When amusement intensifies, people laugh out loud and tilt or bob their head. The most extreme bouts of amusement may be accompanied by uncontrollable laughter, tears, and rolling on the floor. Most cultures welcome and endorse amusement. Many people even consider a ‘good sense of humor’ as one of the most desirable characteristics in a partner. At the same time, most cultures have (implicit) rules about what is the right time and place for amusement. For example, displays of amusement may be deemed inappropriate in situations that demand seriousness or solemness, such as at work or during religious rituals.

Love it! This is great news. We need more of this to combat the excessive hate-filled rhetoric and misinformation. 👍

The experience was the same for me @April Marie. I slept much deeper and I woke up each morning feeling so much more restful sleeping with forms solidly in place. For me, wearing breast forms at night started when before I was a teenager. I had no access up to modern breast forms and certainly no way to buy mastectomy bras back then. I wore a basic bra my mom had put in a donation box and two pairs of soft cotton socks. I have some crazy memories of things I did in my youth to combat my GD but regardless, these makeshift concoctions helped me work through it all.   All My Best, Susan R🌷
