Hi, I'm Zoey!

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Zoey. I am MtF on HRT. This is my second time on hormones. The first time was 2003-2007. I made the decision to stop because I decide ultimately SRS wasn't what I wanted at that time. The Therapist and Dr. I was seeing had me believing that I only had a binary choice and I wasn't ready to make a dramatic change. I stopped HRT and put my wig back on the shelf.

In 2018, I met someone who encouraged me to try again. I dropped 20 lbs. to get back my girlish figure and in Spring of 2019 I started going back out in public on a fairly regular basis. In July, I did some Lipo-sculpting with fat transfer to the bootie (BBL). Last Fall I got an awesome new cut and color for my hair and started figuring out some new make up tricks and the new me started to emerge.

I decide to begin HRT again in March of 2020. I discovered that Planned Parenthood was willing to prescribe HRT with "Informed Consent" so no therapist or endocrinologist would be required. Health insurance under Obamacare even covered the Estradiol with a $4/month co-pay. My body responded very quickly to the Estradiol. First thing I noticed (after two weeks) was my sense of smell had intensified. After 1 month my skin was noticeably softer and smoother. Most of my facial hair was mostly gone from laser treatments in 2003/4 but I did a few rounds of Electrolysis and 1 laser treatment in early March (pre-COVID lockdown) just to get back to where I wanted to be. After 60 days my breasts were really starting to fill out. Lots of tenderness and nipples were extremely sensitive. After 90 days I can almost fill out a C-cup and I'm pretty sure that they are still growing due to the continued tenderness and constant itchiness. I was surprised to see such a dramatic change so quickly in my breasts since my first round of HRT had somewhat limited results.

So other than the current insanity in the world, I feel like I'm emotionally and physically in a better place this time around. SRS is still not a part of my plan for now and that is OK with me. I find that I am blending in with the crowd when I'm out and about. I even get hit on pretty frequently by young hot guys. Women are kind and treat me like I'm just one of the girls. I think it is a different social environment than it was in the mid 2000's and trans women are nothing unusual with the current generation. I used to only feel comfortable in a designated safe place (ie... a drag bar or gay bar) but now I can go just about anywhere and feel welcome. And all of that was before the effects of the recent HRT kicked in because everyone in my city has been under a stay at home order since March and things are only starting to re-open as of 5/29. I'm thinking I'll head out and about on 6/13 (with proper social distancing). That was supposed to be the day of the Pride parade but it was postponed this year. I'm curious if others will be celebrating Pride but want to try and do my part. Now if I can only figure out how to wear a mask and not mess up my lipstick, LOL!

Well that is about all I can think to share about me and my journey at this time.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone here.

Hugs,

Zoey

Looking good, very much so.  If I can give you a suggestion, create a gallery for your pictures using the Create New Content button at the upper right of the page, (if I can others can) and put your pictures there if you would like to keep them out of public.  Post a link to your gallery pictures and that way only members can see them.  These pages can be seen by the public if you put them directly in the post.  In the gallery they cannot.

Thanks Vicky!  I'm not that shy and don't mind who sees me but it t is good to know about the gallery.

I will use it in the future!

Hi Zoey.  We have something in common... I, too, stopped HRT about 8 years ago and am hoping to get started again now.  Just waiting for a doctor's appointment.  I just joined TransPulse, too, so am only beginning to learn my way around the site.  There's a LOT of great reading here and these people are absolutely wonderful.  I think you're right about the world atmosphere... people seem a little more accepting and understanding now than a decade ago.

I look forward to seeing you around the forum.

Welcome Zoey. Glad your here. It’s a pleasure to meet you. Like yourself, I took a long break between my first journey living part time as a women and today. Back when I started going out to clubs and bars in the mid-80s, I didn’t feel safe unless I was with a few g/f‘s and we always stayed in gay/lesbian safe areas of Seattle. Today, here in the Seattle metro area where I reside, it seems very safe and accepting everywhere. This new generation does seem to be much more understanding.

I shop at costco a lot and they require masks now. I have to forego wearing lipstick until after I shop there. It’s usually the first stop on my errands list just so I don’t worry about getting lipstick everywhere.

Zoey, you look great in both photos. I can see a little weight loss in your 2019 pic especially in your cheeks and it’s a nice change. Your makeup is really done well too.

Well, thank you for sharing your journey and timeline with us. I hope to read more of your continuing journey as it unfolds.

Warmest Regards,

Susan R?

Hi Zoey,  You look great!  I wanted to say that there is an infinite spectrum and it is perfectly valid to present to the world as female but not ever go for SRS.  It is whatever works for you and I'm sorry for first doctor was so binary. --Grace.

Welcome, Zoey! and nice to meet you❣️

Thank you for sharing your story.  Even though you are new here it seems you have a lot to offer to those like myself who are just starting on our journey.
I applaud your determination to make your own decision on what path you want to take based on what is in your heart, and not somebody else's advice.

Also, look you great!  wish I could do makeup as well as you do.

Looking forward to hearing more from you in the future.

Thank you to all for welcoming me to Trans Pulse. If there is anything I can do or info I can share to help please let me know. Most of my makeup tricks came from Youtube tutorials and lots of practice. I am a bit OCD as well when it comes to my makeup and hair.

Welcome Zoey. I just might contact you for makeup tips. I am basically mascara, lip stick and some cheek highlighting.

My makeup starts with a good foundation. I use Mac Pro Longwear nourishing Waterproof foundation but I must warn you that this is not an easy foundation to apply and get perfect results. Less is more. I use KatVonD setting powder but again less is more.

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P
    • Abigail Genevieve
      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

      I think I lost a friend :(

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
