Hello,

I’m currently 172 cm/ 5’7. Would I be considered short fot my age? (21 years old)

Also, my feet size is 44 (male size), which isn’t pleasant for my transition. Any advice on how to get myself a pair of shoes? ?

Well, I'm 5'11" (so about 180cm) and a size 13 US (46-47 Euro). You should be able to find women's shoes in your size (here the shops go to 12 in women's shoes so a 45-46 for you). You're probably OK in most clothing shops as well, I can generally find an XXL in the women's section and you should be able to find XL clothes (depending on how broad your shoulders are, you might need what I think of as a 2X) in most styles.

5'7" is a perfectly good size for a woman. My wife is 5'6" and while she has a little trouble, she can usually find something in most shops. I'm not sure what's available in Lebanon, but you may have to seek out your equivalent of a big and tall shop. I use Long Tall Sally and Torrid for most of my clothing needs, but I'll also hit up thrift shops and browse for something cute in my size.

Hugs!

I'm 5'2" at best, the taller the better, in my opinion. The industry just pokes fun at short folk, and have fun in that kid section... cuz that be the only place something fits right?. At 5'7" your just fine. Jackie is a bit tall, but being just shy of that inch makes it still not that tall but tall enough where people will respect you cuz they have to look up first to see your face.

In my opinion there is no height limit for women. Short, tall... women of all heights are beautiful. I'm kinda into tall women myself ?

I understand it's a cause for dysphoria for some. I'm 5'5", kinda average I guess. Sometimes I wish I was petite. But women come in all shapes and sizes. Accepting and embracing yours is all part of the package.

I have big feet for my height too (size 11 US mens). But I love the shape of them. Finding cute shoes is a struggle though. Good thing it's flip flop season...

?I got mens 8 US for my height. I think my feet are big, got rabbit feet. Yes, the shoes start to run low on the ladies end.  At least big feet gives me good balance.

THIS is truth!

I get a kick out of us MFTs who stress out over sizes when all you need to do is take a walk through a mall or whatever and really look at all the different shapes and sizes of Cis women.

This includes body and facial hair too which I am a victim of myself.

I have seen so many women who need a good shave down more then me.  LOL

I'm 5'7" and considered myself short for a guy but a bit tall for a women based on most Cis hieghts.  Size 8.5-9 men's shoe.   Build like a hockey player my wife had always said.  Short but stocky and solid up top with thin legs.  LOL

I'm in a size 6-8 pant and size large tops for women's now.  Size 9-10 lady's shoe.

In the end you will be who you are regardless of what you try to change or cover. Which we all do so just go with it and enjoy being your true self.

Sizes 8-11. I hate all of you. ?

They're right though. Models tend to be tall. Us big girls just need to hunt specialty shops because manufacturers of women's clothing like to make us feel inadequate in some way. Ask around. You'll be hard pressed to find a woman who can find clothes that fit her right for one reason or another.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences and giving me support. I feel real options in front of me unlike my previous questions and concerns that barely had acceptable answers.

I’m in the same boat as @ShawnaLeigh  I am 5’6, 5’7 depending on the tape measure but I’m slender (125-130).  I’m 8.5 women’s and take a size small.

I did a quick Google search, and the average height for women in Lebanon is 5'5" (the United States is 5'4"). The average man in Lebanon is 5'8". I don't know how accurate Google is but if the average heights of men and women are that close together, and your height of 5'7" is in the middle, I would not think your height would give you any trouble passing or finding clothes that fit.

I am 5'11", taller than 99% of American women.

I'm 5' 7" a bit chunky and am working at resolving that, want my good abs and lats showing slightly through the girly fat layer like before.

Me too.  I always feel self-conscious towering over the women around me.  I've long wondered if cis women my height feel the same way but I've never had an opportunity to ask.  Hey...{thought}... I wonder if there's a discussion forum out there for tall gals?  I see more tall women now than I used to, mostly 20-somethings.

I am around five eleven but also wear a shoe size 44. Here in the Uk there is a limited choice in women's shoes in that size although they are reasonably obtainable online. The main issue I find though is the width of my feet as women's fittings are usually narrower. In the Lebanon I don't know. We are maybe taller but five seven is a pretty average height for a woman I would have thought.

I'm right there with you Jackie.  As someone who wears women's size 13 shoes, I'm envious of everyone else.  It's not the size of my feet; it's that finding stylish shoes in my size isn't so easy.  I guess my foot size kind of goes along with my height though, as I am 6 feet 2 inches tall (188 cm).  I've always been proud of my stature, even as a woman. Yes, I tower over most other women, yes, I tend to stand out in a crowd, but I'm proud of who I am, so I'm not bothered by any of it.  So, I'd have to say that my height is the ideal height for a trans woman.

I know, right? People seem to think that because I have large feet, I want to wear disco balls on my feet or something. When I'm sifting through the returns in the shoe shops (they carry to 12 at most and I shop with my wife and sister-in-law) and anything I find in my size is guaranteed UGLY. I mean "Why do these shoes even exist? Who would wear this?" levels of ugly. All of my pretty shoes were online purchases. They're not always COMFORTABLE, but they look nice. Most of the time I end up wearing my cute as heck ankle boots or sandals. Sandals are very forgiving.

Hugs!

I am very tall for a woman @ 6'2" (188cm).  I don't have the face to pull off the model label.  Maybe once I get a little more proficient with makeup, it will help.

Really large feet too. I take a size 12W men's shoe, so a 14 ladies, sometimes even a 15. Then trying to find one that isn't crushing my feet from the sides, is the next challenge ?

Sooo much this ^^^^^^^^.  Why? Why can't they have cute shoes in larger sizes?  It's either super ugly clogs or stripper heels/boots. ?

Ordering online means extra charges like duty and shipping make these purchases hard to justify, as there really aren't any Canadian online retailers that specialize in this area. So I typically just go for the most feminine or androgynous mens runners or casual shoe I can find.

I have actually found some very fashionable shoes in larger sizes, but to buy them, you need to be independently wealthy (I miss PayLess so much).

Who is it, that determines large size shoe styles?  Is there some unspoken fashion law that requires a lady's shoe larger than size 11 be completely, utterly fashionless?   Inquiring minds want to know.

One of the great things about sharing our trials and tribulations is when we find out someone else has it harder than ourselves.  Not great for them, but makes me feel a little less oddball.  I am actually lucky in the shoe dept. I guess since I wear a women's 11 or 12 depending on open or closed toe (feeling Jackie's scorn ?).  Luckier still is that I have narrow feet (I have pretty feet, I've been told ☺️).  Men's shoes always felt like boxcars on my narrow feet, sliding around inside them.  A woman's 12 sneaker or boot fits perfectly.  Where were those all my life?!  For those with "normal male size" feet, they do make women's shoes in wide.  Of course they're even harder to find.  Try shoe stores with lots of inventory.

I lucked out yesterday and found a nice Ked's walking sneaker that is andro enough I can wear them whatever mode I'm in and they were only $50.  There were several types and come in sizes up to 13W, so if you like sneakers, you might want to check out Ked's.  Summer sandles are easy; many look unisex, so you can buy certain men's pairs and add your own femme bling to them (think pretty bobby pins).  Jeans+sneakers is my usual everyday wear.  Yesterday must have been a good day for me because I also finally found Lee relaxed straight leg jeans in 33 inseam ON SALE!  That only took, oh, about 3300 hours, lol!  Getting two pair!

Oh me too Sally. This was the worst news when I found out they were going down early last year. Their prices were always very reasonable and the quality was OK. I bought a ship load of shoes last year during their close outs. Now, there’s nothing like this stand-alone bargain shoe outlet to be found. In my area it’s either Fred Meyer (Kroger’s), Walmart, or Target. We do have a Marshall’s and Ross Dress for Less nearby but their stock is generally a crapshoot.

Good evening everyone,   I don't think my mother ever cooked a meal that I didn't like. We also had a kitchen where mom fixed the food, dad filled your plate, and you eat it. It wasn't until our baby brother was born that we could have Pop-Tarts for snacks. Before that all snacks had to meet mom's approval, and in her opinion wouldn't prevent you from eating supper.   Well my day started off on a good note, but has become frustrating because my IT person didn't transfer my saved videos I use for teaching. Then I found out that they didn't save any of my book marks for websites I use frequently.   Best wishes, stay motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

The number is relative to method of deliver, the time of the dose, and when the blood is drawn. However, I do want to keep away from DVT and other potential issues. I assume I may be getting backed down from my current dose, but my doc told me to stick with the higher dose, so? I also wonder if this has anything to do the my breast growth and mental changes that have been happening over the past few years, like I have some estrogen sensitivity so a little goes a long way or something? I don't have enough data to postulate, but who knows!   With weekly, subcutaneous, shots you expect to see big swings of serum level estradiol from shot to peak to trough. My doctor is interested in mid-week testing (for E and T levels only), which would be post-peak blood serum levels but they will be higher than trough. Most, if not all, resources I've seen online is to measure at trough (which I might do just to do it next time) along with a SHBG, LH, and other metrics.   This is from transfemscience.org for Estradiol valerate in oil, which is very spiky compared to some other estradiol combinations. It's also for intramuscular, which will have a slower uptake and is usually dosed in higher volume due to the slower absorption rate from muscles. They don't have subcutaneous numbers, which I would expect to see similar spikes but higher levels at similar doses due to the relatively higher absorption rate direct from fat.   Are you doing pills, shots, or patches? And when you do get your levels checked are you getting that done when your levels are lowest or some other time?

Both of my parents were from the “North Shore” of Boston.  My mother Lynn and my father Swampscot.  They had an early 1900s Scots-Irish New England diet.  My sister and I were born in the 40s in Ohio well away from New England seafood and in an area where food was more German and Polish.  My first experience with liver and onions was during basic training.  They ate salt cod but never forced us to eat it same with oysters.  My dad ate oysters but my mother wouldn’t.  Anyone who ever ate an oyster can figure that one out.  I grew up eating lamb.  My wife won’t touch it. I love brazed ox tail, again no way. And the list goes on.

My mother was German, so yes, I think it was a cultural thing.  If I'd known you when we were cleaning out my mother's place, I could have sent you her "threat jar".

Been taking it real easy.Another good neighbor of mine and his 15 year old son came over and cut down a couple dead trees on my property.Knew not to do it taking it easy.I had them put the wood near my fire pit in the back yard.Did it and happy where they put it.They knew I had stents put in and needed to take it easy

Wow that is a high number for Estradiol good grief! Testosterone levels are better than mine. I don't remember my Estradiol level but testosterone was 80. To me that is really high but it was in the two hundreds the check in before last one.

I don't understand why this would make a difference being a "dad" I mean, as far as how they would grow.

I don't see why not. I have worn forms since I came out.

I have never worn breastforms, but I assume as long as they don't aggravate your nipples you could.

Every week I've been excited to take my shot, so it's never been an issue. Yesterday, however, I woke up and started my usual "slow roll" and then suddenly realized I had breakfast plans that I had to rush out the door for. After, it was straight into work calls, and then I got the notification from the doctor about things being too high and all the while my mind had completely slipped that I needed take my shot.   Given that I am not asking for medical advice, but sharing my journey, I will note my results: Estradiol at 447 pg/mL and Testosterone was 23 ng/dL, up and down from 26 pg/mL and 526 ng/dL respectively before treatment. Almost flipped the bit! The doc would like my Estradiol closer to 300 pg/mL, so we'll see what Monday's tests state.   Oh, and I teased the dinner with old soccer teammates and never updated the thread! It went well. There were a couple funny moments. One guy, who I was worried about their response, greeted me with "Hey, you've lost some weight!" 😎 And a friend who lives near me picked me up on the way to dinner exclaimed, after we learned one of the invitees might show up with a date, "Wait! We could have brought women?!" To which I instantly responded, "You kind of did, bringing me!" Everyone got a good laugh out of that. 😁

To me there isn't that much difference other the measurement, which side the zipper is on and men's pants have bigger pockets.

I hope this is not stupid question..I have yet to start n not sure if doc will approve..but once you start growing buds n such, can you still wear forms to get to the size you were?   I'm a dad, so when I start blossoms they will be smaller for a long time n probably need surgical augmented..that's fine. I don't want to go ddd to aa to ddd..   any ideas?   thank you

I like them too.  We had them growing up.  But my father's family were Swedes.

Oh my!  I guess it just goes to show how different tastes can be. Since we don't live near the ocean, Seafood is a rare luxury. We absolutely love pickled herring! Especially my husband and my GF, I guess it's a Ferman/Russian cultural thing.  But most of the kids like it too, and a jar wouldn't last in the pantry for long 😆
