Hi  Courtney, Christy here,

I could go on for days describing my relationship with my wife, but you did it already for me. Unlike you and others, while my wife has discovered my desires in the past, she really does not understand them. Like your wife, mine is very traditional and conservative and there is no way she would allow any of it. I hide, but sometimes it is difficult. 
As many others have said, you are not alone. My how I wish I had known that and had a forum like this when I was younger. The outcome would have been different.

As you can see many have had the same problems as you and you are not alone.

@Christy Ray Thank you for the warm welcome!  My spouse is very similar to yours, she has an extremely basic understanding of what being transgender is about (mostly learned by watching TLC shows..."I am Jazz", "Lost in Transition".)  Which is both good and bad.  I am a big admirer of Jazz because she is doing a good job with her platform to educate the public, but "Lost in Transition" seems to give her fodder to strengthen her position of non-acceptance.  I hear you about trying to keep things "low key."  When my spouse is around I wear pretty inconspicuous clothing just to feel like myself, but when she's not around I go as far as I can.  For example, her and my daughters were on a girls getaway for a couple days last week.  I was me for 100% of the time and it was GREAT!!! Then they came home...

@Carrie  Thank you for the warm welcome!  Yes, this has been a wonderful place to be.  I've already found solidarity and strength with many other ladies in similar situations to mine.

I am in my last day of one of those transcations myself! It is nice to be able to roam around free! It is such a rare occasion for me that I probably go overboard, but I enjoy it.

@Christy Ray  No worries, I totally overdid it last week.  It was worth every minute and all the lost sleep.  Especially since we've been sheltering at home for the past three months.  Three months of non-stop, constantly on top of each other with someone whose supposed to love and accept you for who you are.  I needed that break so badly, as I'm sure she did.

yes you are right, it is worth the loss of sleep.

The break from each other is nice, but I always feel a little selfish & guilty after a time like this.

Welcome, Christy! (I'm catching up too)

My wife has struggled with this the last 3 or 4 years.  She let's me dress in private at home (in my own room.. she doesn't like seeing me dressed) but has put limits on going any further.  Finding those special "alone" times like @Courtney mentioned are special, but not enough.
It eventually got to the point that the anxiety I was experiencing was affecting me and her both.  So, therapy is my next step (and finally connected to start soon).  Eventually we will have to both come to a path forward.  My hope is its still together.

Comforting to share with those here going through similar spouse/family situations.  Thank you❣️
