Hello! Possible ftm here?

Recommended Posts

IcamoutofthePANtry

Hello everyone! I'm possibly ftm, and I've come out to a few people but not my parents. Anyway, I don't usually have dysphoria. Does this mean I'm not trans? I do want a flat chest, but I don't always mind that much. I'm not bothered by my lower half, quite possibly because I don't know what a cis man's would look like. I want to start binding, but I don't want any surgeries. I have depression and anxiety, so sometimes I can't tell if that's the reason I'm unhappy, or if it's because I'm not in the right body. I also have a history of body dysmorphia and slight anorexia, so I have trouble telling the difference between my dysmorphia and my dysphoria.

Also I really need name suggestions! I know it's hard to give name ideas to someone you don't know, but I could really use some help.

Here are some names I like:

Liam

Peyton

Milo

Andrew

Terry

Noah

Oliver

Shea

Lucas

Henry

Nicholas

Greyson

Thank you!

Hugs,

IcameoutofthePANtry

Hello @IcamoutofthePANtry Welcome to our forum.

I personally like the name Greyson but not sure if it’s you or not. Which is your favorite out of the bunch?

That’s my vote!

@Susan R Thanks for the suggestion! I like LiamPeytonAndrew, and Greyson. It's hard to decide, especially since I haven't talked to my parents yet. I'm planning to though!

Best of luck with that. It can be difficult. Just be prepared for everything.

Hey and welcome,

I'm trying to decide on names too. I know Lliam one of the popular names. Consider what your personality is like and family names. The 2 syllable names like Greyson and Peyton both sound very upscale so if that's your personality, those 2 would be best. If you're the friendly type, then choose one of the names that has a option for shortening like Nicholas and Andrew. I don't even have a list yet for myself. I'm ftm too.

Hi IcamoutofthePANtry,

Welcome to Transpulse. I'm glad you're here!

My suggestion about the name is to just keep thinking about them and let one grow on you so to speak.

Lots of love and a big welcome hug,

Timber Wolf🐾

@Just Lee I am both friendly and upbeat lol.

@Timber Wolf Thank you! I've just started thinking about names so it will take awhile, but I'm prepared to wait.

@KayC I do like the name Baker. I'm not sure if it would suit me though. I'll add it to the list!

Hello and welcome :)

I am still questioning myself if I'm a FtM or not, you're not alone! I actually even have very similar thoughts. I don't mind my lower half, but my upper half I'm nearly sure I just want it flat, looking like a male chest.
I start to wonder if there might be a separate "group" for people like us in that regard: FtM, but only wanting the upper-half changed.
I'm sure there is, but I think that would be a different label than FtM.
I have no clue!

As for names, a friend of mine once told me as a suggestion to pick one and see how that feels for a while. If it doesn't work, move on to the next. Maybe that can narrow it down for you?
I personally like all of the names you have there. There are a few that my definitely my favourite, but if it's a name you want to go by possibly for the rest of your life, or at the very least use that as your true identity, then I am reluctant to say which one I would pick, because that's entirely up to you!

Who knows, maybe you'll come up with something else in the meantime too.

I like the name Nicholas. It sounds very masculine.

Well that sounds like it went good I’m glad the management is going to correct the inappropriate talk. Hopefully you can get your employee file changed quickly. I’m sorry to hear that your wife is not supportive. I could only hope when I come out at work it goes that smooth I’m afraid not just because of the industry I’m in.

First, it's not "transgendered", it's just transgender. No need for the -ed.   A transgender guy, is typically referred to as a trans man (FtM). Transfeminine may be a more accurate term as it's used by those who are AMAB (assigned male at birth), but may not fully identify as binary women, or just want to partially transition. I think the terms transfeminine/transmasculine are labels that are used more by Non-Binary trans people.

I was chatting with a friend this morning and she brought up this song. Great bass line, and the message rings true today, post transition...So here it is, their catalog (Eagles) is deep and wide....

The whole question of how you identify is inherently confusing.  My brother highlighted it for me one time when he asked me what the difference was between feeling like a man and feeling like a woman.  I realized that the question was impossible to answer.   Initially, I thought it was unanswerable because I thought I had, until then, only been male.  But, since then, I realized that our gender identity doesn't change throughout our lives.  I have only ever been a woman.    At first, I was a woman pretending to be a man.  Now, I am a woman who knows she is a woman.  The only part that changed was the pretense.    What convinced me was trying it.  Acting like a man felt forced and unpleasant.  Acting like a woman was natural, easy and comfortable.  That is the difference.   If that describes you, then there is a good chance that you are transgender, though you might not be at one end or the other of the spectrum.  You might be somewhere in the middle.  Whatever feels unforced and natural is where you belong.    On the other hand, if what feels happy is being a guy, then you might not be trans.

Great idea - I haven't jounaled since my first wife left and I'd hate to read those now - I was in hell and don't want to remember but I kept them just in case someday I might  want to what those days were like.   Since being drawn to Transpulse and found you tremendous women - you have changed my life in the matter of a month and I have a LOT to write about now that I have found kindred spirits.
