Yesterday was a very good day for me.  I've been working as a Fresh Foods Chef for Harris Teeter (a Kroger owned company) for the last 3 years.  I transitioned on the job 11 months ago.  When the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the Chef's department was all but shut down.  We were responsible hot the hot bars, and special event stations in the store, and all of that stopped, so I kept working as just a Fresh Foods clerk.  In April, the department manager and the store manager took notice of me as a potential candidate for management (I do have a background as a Chef running multi-million dollar kitchens), and began giving me more responsibilities in the department and grooming me for the management program.

Yesterday I had an interview with the district manager at the corporate office and was offered a position as Assistant Fresh Foods Manager.  I am going to have to go to a different store for at least 8 weeks, but my current store manager says he is going to fight to get me back in his store afterwards, as he wants me as part of his leadership team.

I had taken a break from the management scene to work on both my physical and mental health (you know, transition, alcoholism, cancer, C-PTSD....) but now it's time to start moving forward again.  In these times, I know it seems that we are being constantly attacked for just being true to ourselves, but there are opportunities out there.  We can find acceptance.  We can succeed.

Hi Mira

Congratulations! That is a big achievement.  Especially changing on the job that they still want you there speaks very highly.

Warm wishes

Carrie

Wow, Mira!  that is fantastic news.  To stack up all of your life challenges and throw in transitioning on-the-job?  You are an inspiration to everybody here I'm sure.

Congratulations❣️

Indeed, congratulations. This is very reassuring to hear that changing to better yourself does  not cause negative outcomes career-wise.

Thank you for sharing the hope and great news.

XOXO

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P

      No problem!

Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

      I think I lost a friend :(

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
