Trick Question

I have heard a story of a college professor giving his students a final essay where the question was why? One kid responded why not? And got an A. The answer to why for the majority of the peeps in this world is god or religion. Otherwise there would be no good reason to be alive. If there is no after life, then I assume that all of us will fade into nothing. All our hopes dreams friends familly houses cars dogs cats loves hates EVERYTHING! Will be gone in a matter of relatively short amount of time. If there is no religion or belief in ones life, the answer to why would USUALLY ( this is a key word for all the people without religion on this site) fear. Why else would someone resist death so ferociously to stay in this place where the majority will likely hate you for who u are. I believe that I will be reborn, therefore this gives me a reason to live well. If this were not the case, and all we do is fade into nothing then I would prefer to have never been born. Simply I would have never existed so I would have never suffered.

If I have offended anyone here then I am very sorry! This is just my answer to a question that has plagued every person on this earth at least once.

Hugz and luv, Charlotte

Why?

My usual response to any question is, "I'm sorry."

It usually works.

Why?

By Sally Michelle Jackson

The philosophers ask why

While looking at the sky

The scientists ask how

And want to know it now

The historians ask when

And keep that chapter open

The anthropologists ask who

And find old bones and call her Sue

But when all is said and done there comes a single clause

The answer to all above, simply stated is always just because.

Love ya,

Sally

Charlotte, that's a great story. Reminds me of this professor I had for a logic class a few semesters back.

Sally, great poem, as always.

I think I'm gonna wait and see where this thread is going before I decide whether post on the question. (This whole post is kind of meta, like Lizzy's thread about the thread on depression) (I'll stop now) ;)

WHY?

--Because there are so many delicious things we have yet to eat or sniff out down here!!

--Because they will ALWAYS make a new Gundam within 5 years time

--Because the interwebs beckons

--Because platypus are a weird and wonderful animal

--Because who else would clean the litter box?

--Because there are people out there who would do a lot for a Klondike Bar!

Actually, I think I was the kid who had that exam  I definately had one in which the final exam was "why?" And yes, I got an A.

Kia Ora Lizzy,

:rolleyes:W=twenty third letter of the alphabet H=eighth letter of the alphabet Y=twenty fifth letter of the alphabet...in total =WHY ;)

Or [i know you didn't want a possible philosophical answer but I just couldn't resist it ;) ] ...A one word Christian answer 'GOD' or from a Buddhist 'KARMA'... both are answers to your question WHY...

Answer (all of you had a wonderful reponse) - the actual answer to a one word question, is a one word "response"

BECAUSE

That's all

In a way, it is true. Most Christians that I have met believe in an absolute truth and therefore, the answer to all their why's are able t be answered with because's

This topic reminds me of the lyrics to the Beatles song, "A Little Help From My Friends."   "What do you see when you turn out the lights?"   "I can't tell you but I know it's mine."   Carolyn Marie

@Ivy have you read the actual document?   Has anyone else out there read it?
    • Abigail Genevieve
I am reading the Project 2025 document https://www.project2025.org/policy/   This will take some time.  I read the forward and I want to read it again later.   I read some criticism of it outside here and I will be looking for it in the light of what has been posted here and there.  Some of the criticism is bosh.   @MaeBe have you read the actual document?

      *older, not holder, oops :P
    • Abigail Genevieve
      No problem!
    • RaineOnYourParade
Old topic, but I gotta say my favorites are: "Stop hitting on minors" (doesn't work if you're holder tho) and "Sure as [squid] not you"

Abigail, I think we will just leave the other posts where they are, and the discussion can start anew here.  It is possible to do what you ask, but would disrupt the flow of the discussion in the other thread, and would require more work than it's worth.   Carolyn Marie

I am in too good a mood to earn my certificate today. I am sure something will happen that will put me on the path to earning it.

It's likely most cis-women consider a fitting unnecessary "because they know what  they wear" and get used to the wrong size.  The instructions for what your size is are simple and why go to any further effort?  You measure your bandsize and you measure your max and subtract the two to get the needed info for the cup size.  Then you buy the same size for years until it hurts or something.

Congratulations Lorelei! Yes, it is a powerful feeling to have the documents that say "you are you".

Here is space for discussion on this, since the topic is large and could derail another thread SOMEBODY started.   Could some dear, sweet, kind Moderator pull everything related to this from the Voting for Trump thread and put it here?  I don't know if you can do that; I am the new girl on the block after all (blinks sweetly).

      I think I lost a friend :(

I will have arrived when I have a b*tch certificate of my own.  I think someone called me one once.

That’s fantastic Lorelei. I’m so happy for you.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
