Mindy???

Hi Mindy,

The reaction from my PCP and new urologist were great. They both read my letters I brought with me and discussed my upcoming GCS with me.

Hugs,

Mike

I'm still so confused on bra sizing. If I follow the standard subtract band from bust method I'm a C. There's no way I could fill a C cup. I've been wearing A cups. They're not completely full or running over but I'm a little sore by the end of the day. I've looked at up-sizing to a B but feel I would just float in one. Am I missing something?

Liz, perhaps the best thing to do is to go to a store like Victoria's Secret and get a professional sizing.  I remember my first trip there and the embarrassment i felt but it was worth it.  I received good advice as well as facing my fears.

Gentle hugs,

Charlize

@ElizabethStar I agree with Charlize go to a fitter or to Victoria Secrets

let them find what you need.  Going with an online store or a Department store you aren’t going to get the right size it’s hit and miss.

I don’t know your size but I’m a 40.  Well you can’t hardly get a 40 A. I buy 40B and use an enhancer or push-up pad to fill it our.  I also have SOMA brand.  It’s a store that is part of the Chico’s and Black and White group. They are far more comfortable and keep the sides in check.  What I measure following the standard women’s charts would be a C cup. And that’s laughable.

I think our problem is our body structure is very different in that area so the subtract your band and that’s your cup won’t ever work

Hei alle sammen,

I had a stroke last March. My greatest fear was that I would be taken off Estrogen. I could have tried to lie to my endocrinologist (She’s at the San Francisco VA hospital) or tried to sidestep my cardiologist (300 miles away in Eureka where I live) . In the end I decided to be totally transparent with them both. Good news is even though they let me know the possible consequences of taking estrogen they are currently good with keeping me on estrogen for the present. I was also switched from patch to injections and recently bought my first B cup bra. Jackie is complete correct when she says for us older girls change takes longer. I am in three years of my HRT.

I tried the calculator too but it told me I was a 34d and i about fell over laughing. I tried one on at Walmart and the cups fit perfect but the band was tight. I have been wearing a 38b from Victoria secret the band is perfect but the cup is big but I’m finally finally out more. I’d really like to get a professional fitting at some point

My understanding is that cup size is proportional to band size-  An A cup on a 40 band is the same volume as a B or C with a smaller band.

I need a 42 band so I'm just starting to fill an A cup.

I wear sports bras a lot when they work with my tops.

Wacole used to do professional fitting during breast cancer awareness month.  Didn’t happen this year for obvious reasons.  Watch for it and make an appointment to get fitted.

@Jandi I understand that too. A sales person at a well known chain store determined that I needed a cup size not available in my band size so she suggested buying a smaller band size and using an extender.  I wasn’t keen on the idea and didn’t do it.

Most bra manufacturers don’t make a 40a and only some styles have a 38a.   They just don’t cater to our market.  And any that do either want you to buy huge breast forms or pay an exorbitant price.

Guess there's not that many of us from their standpoint.

I have a fairly large ribcage, and the boobettes are just that - boobettes.

I went for a bra fitting a couple of years ago.  They measured me as a 38A, and they actually had some 38As in stock.  I tried them all on and couldn't fill any of them.  I ended up with a 36B, which does fit, but needs an extender to be comfortable.

I may have grown a little bit since then (I am nearing 4 years on HRT), possibly enough to actually fill a 38A.  I'll try again once covid is over.

My girls may be small, but they sure are cute! :)

Yes, sister sizing. Technically, since I'm a 36a I should have the same cup volume as a 34b, 32c, and 30d but obviously the bands would be too small and cups may be too close together.

@Erikkait's always best to keep your Medical Staff up to date honestly. I hope you're doing well after the stroke.

Best wishes, stay positive, and safe,

That's another thing.  With a larger band, the boobs are farther apart and you get weird cleavage things.

Oh my goodness that hurt!  I was getting a boat hook out of a lazerette,  it’s like a chest, on my boat  I bend over and made a perfect direct hit on my left boobie.  Dead center perfect bullseye!  I saw star fish for sure.

other than that I had a great day.

Well I was mowing and remowing a portion of my lawn to mulch up pine needles. Ok your are thinking what does that have to do with breasts?  Well, my shirt was rubbing my nipples, particularly the one I hit Saturday.  I had to stop and ask my wife if she had a sports bra I could wear.  That helped me finish.  Boy, I’ve got a lot to learn about these.  I wanted them so now they are telling me all about what I asked for.

Wow!

Yes, indeedy!  It didn't take me long on HRT before mine were making the same request.

Fun story... I was part-time, dressing female at home and male out in public.  I was wearing sports bras when out in public to keep the girls from showing, as well as for sensitivity control.  The concert band I was playing in had a big performance coming up, and the uniform was white shirt over black pants.  Well, white shirts are often revealing, so I had to go out and purchase a white T-shirt for the express purpose of concealing my bra!

I made up for it the next month.  By that time, I was out full-time, and newly out to the band.  For the final concert of the season, I was determined not to wear anything that could be construed as male.  I was the only woman in the band in a skirt, but it conformed to the white-over-black uniform! :)

I get this.

Seems like most women wear britches these days.  But I just don't want to.  Maybe because I had to most of my life.

Tenor sax.  I used to play clarinet, decades ago.  The fingering for the sax is similar enough, yet different, to confuse me.

Like others here I waited so long to be part time out that I like to dress up.  Skorts, skirts and dresses preferred over slacks but leggings are ok.

that poor nipple has had a rough last few days.  It needs soft care.  Ever notice how much softer women’s clothing is compared with men’s?

Nothing wrong with that. I'm glad that you found what makes you happy! Just curious what does your wife think? If it's too personal I understand.

Bob was on his way home from the dojo and he "just happened" to driver by her place. It was 10:30.  Her light was still on.  He knew exactly where she was sitting.  He saw her in his mind.   A fierce wave of desire that took his breath away suddenly showed up. All he had to do was stop, get out of the car, walk to the door and knock.  She would answer, glad to see him.  She would know why he was there and what he wanted. She would invite him in, maybe get him something to drink, disappear for a moment and return in "something more comfortable."  She would lead him back. Oh, joy.   And never, ever speak to him again afterwards.  Or she would not let him in but be angry about it.  In no way, emotionally, physically, mentally or spiritually, was she ready for this, and he knew it, if he was honest with himself, and she knew he knew it.  She would look upon it as another assault and their relationship would be irretrievably broken.  He would have to leave town. It would devastate her. It would devastate him.    He fought himself.  He was frozen to his seat as his reason and his body fought. He was twenty four years old, a full-blooded male with normal desires; he had just worked out and he was ready.  All he had to do now was open the car door. No one would know. He held his hands, one in the other, to keep one from moving, against his reason and will, to open that door.  He did not want to be a slave of his desires.   He looked across the street.  Mrs. McCarthy, sister of his landlord, was peeking though her window.  She knew his car.  Everyone in town would know by noon the next day if he got out of the car.  Taylor did not need that, either, and she would know, if he came to the door now, what a selfish thing it would be: in his own eyes, in the eyes of Taylor, in the eyes of the town, and worst of all, in the eyes of God.   He sat there a moment longer.  He was, as he reflected, entering into her sufferings in a small way that she would be made whole, healthy and happy: what he wanted more than anything.  But this hurt.  Why had all this come on her?  He asked God again, but there was only silence. He drove home in that silence. He chided himself for even going on her street and for driving on it other nights.  He would stop that, he told himself.   ------------------------------------------   The next morning Taylor went out to her car to go to work.  Mrs. McCarthy met her before she got to it. "I thought you were going to get lucky last night, dearie," she said. Taylor was puzzled. "Why, what do you mean?" "That young fellow - you know, Bob - he's been driving around here, going up and down the street some nights, not stopping.  Well, last night he parked and sat in his car for a while.   I think he was staring at your window.  I think he was trying to get up the courage to knock on the door. I was rooting for him.   But then he drove away.  Faint heart never won fair lady, as they say. What a shame. You two are a lovely couple.  Well, have a good day!" "Thank you, Mrs. McCarthy."  Taylor knew Bob extremely well and knew what had been going through his mind.  She was more than grateful he had not gotten out of the car. Better for him, better for her, better for everybody.  Surgery "down there" sooner than later.  This was driving the poor boy crazy. It was driving her crazy, too.  But she had a lot to work through. Surgery "up here" she said, pointing to her head.  She woke up her therapist on the way to work.  They were still talking when she pulled into her designated parking spot.  That was a perk that had happened yesterday.  She took a deep breath and headed into work. It would be another wild day.

I'm thinking about some interactions yesterday I did, while presenting as male but acting as female, that were far better than I did when I was presenting as male and acting as male.  #girlunderhood. I do a crappy job at acting as male and I am giving it up.  I am not talking about feminine gestures or presentation but just relating as a woman.  People don't realize I am doing it but it is a whole lot easier to do.   You don't just put on a dress and BOOM you are a girl.  You are a girl and you put on a dress.  Or not. Whether I am in jeans or a skirt (I wish, wife would have lots to say) I am a girl.  I don't need $250 in makeup and heels and hose and all that.  I don't need surgery. Honey, I have arrived.  Now I have to work out how that best works in my life, causing the minimal damage and creating the maximum good, but I have more working room.   Oh, and I am still pissed off at everyone and everything. #Contradictory.

@Willow it is certainly possible that my husband planned it. Placing me in the path of an opportunity....he certainly does things like that. GF has done some work for the company as an outside consultant, so I'm sure the company owner knows what potential resources are around.    It could also have just happened randomly. He has taken me to work with him before, just because he likes to have me around. I remember one time that I fell asleep with my head in his lap, and he held a meeting with his subordinates without waking me and making me move.  The company culture is family oriented and relaxed.

The photo is great.  Software is phenomenal but it also is sort of a promise of things to come. Years ago this sort of thing took a photographer and Photoshop and all sorts of things and you would say, "I can look like THIS??"   Me, I am a duck.  That's from my driver's license.  Just kidding.

This is a great analogy. The statement is true as it relates to the tree. The analogy fits because we as a LGBTQIA community are stronger when we stand together. It also work here on Transgender Pulse Forums. The support I feel from so many others has made me comfortable with my stance, because I'm in a beautiful forest of friends. So when I'm out alone and confronted. I can respond and act like the single tree in the field, surviving whatever comes my way. My roots reach back and communicate with others like me.    Standing Strong,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
