hello my name is Brianna I am 54 years old I'm praying that I'm just starting this process. Never felt comfortable in my own skin. from a little boy on I've always wanted to be female. I hope I'm not too old to finally do this. I do not have any support around me except for my ex who is transgender she lives in Cleveland and I live in Florida we talked last night and she told me to go for it she never knew how I felt

Hi, Brianna.

Welcome to Trans Pulse!  This is a great place for support, especially with so many real-world support systems shut down due to covid.  By all means, ask questions, answer questions, vent, whatever you need.  The community is here for you.

At 54, you are definitely not too old.  Many of us started transitioning in our 60s (62 for me) or even 70s.  You are a young whippersnapper! :)

Regards,

Kathy

Welcome Brianna.  We all run on our own timeline but i know i lived with gender issues before puberty and through out my life.  I went full time at 63 and after the dust settled i don't regret the years i spent as a male but am certainly enjoying having found peace with both sides of my reality.

Hugs,

Charlize

Hi Brianna!  nice to meet you, and Welcome!

I am a few years older than you also, so I can tell you its never too late.  Happy you've found yourself and found this Forum.  Its been an immense help for me just in the last several months.

I think its great you have the support of your Ex, and I hope you can lean on her to help guide you.  There's lots of experience and support in this Forum also.  The biggest recommendation I received here is to start gender therapy.  I hope you also have that opportunity.

Deep breaths ... one step at a time❣️

@Brianna66 welcome. Speaking of old I am 68 going on 13 as I started HRT 10 weeks ago. Never too late and you have a group of amazing and supportive ladies, many in your age group who can relate to you and to them and even me the old timer.

Hi Brianna and welcome. Congrats on finding yourself! As many others have already said, it is never too late to be yourself. Also mentioned, this is a wonderfully supportive place, the folks here have been an immense help to me and many others.

Welcome to Trans Pulse, Brianna.  I was equally scared 12 years ago when I started my journey at the age of 54.  I'm doing great and happier than ever (except for COVID, of course).  Welcome aboard, and please do ask all the questions that come to mind.  We'll be here to help.

HUGS

Hi Brianna

I'm glad you're here, I know I'm glad I"m here. As KathyLauren said, "or even 70's." That's me. I'm 76. I'm on the very front end, just like you. For me, the best part of this Forum is learning from other girls what their experience has been and is. For instance, sometimes I feel doubt, but I learn from them that feeling doubt is common, nevertheless, they keep going along their paths, and doubt is replaced by certainty, until the next wave of doubt. That's where my head is, anyhow. I'm hoping to get a HRT Rx next week. Taking the first one commits me to nothing. I'll live every day as well as I can, try to feel the good feminizing effects, and decide tomorrow if I'll do it again tomorrow.

~~Here's a big hug, from Lee~~

https://www.eqfl.org/additional-resources-central-florida - Found this via a brief search, has a few sources, unsure if that is nearby. Perhaps try a pros and cons list on transitioning. See if that helps give you more clarity, all the best. :)

Hi @Brianna66.

Definitely not too old! I'm 56 and 5 months HRT. I started electrolysis at your age and was growing out my hair. I too felt I was a girl inside my whole life. I'm so glad i set her free.

Sally, a moderator can edit the post adding "Post 3" if you would like. Let me know and I'll be glad to take care of it. That way your numbering system is in tact.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I thought Hey, I can't be experiencing Gender destroyer because it doesn't fit the narrative, but Hey I can. I am experiencing mild discomfort in relation to my gender. Because and that can be a form of mild form of it this forum because their elements of my gender that are out of alignment with my sign gender at birth. There are elements of my gender I have been holding back on some I did not even know for fear it did not fit was told was not very manly or in some other way not correct for someone who is an amab. I tried embracing and expressing some of these parts of me even for just a little bit every once in a while and it feels like a relief to me like a weight has been lifted.

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums @violet r   I think we all were scared with our first post here on TPF. I hope you come to find this site as welcoming as an old friend. Not knowing the type of retail you're in, it is hard to know how they will react to your coming out. I would hope that if it's part of a larger corporation they may have corporate policies supporting/protecting you once you decide to come out publicly. No one here will rush you, or try to slow you down, once you've decided to come out. Some of us are secret sisters, and others of us are as flamboyant as they come. The cool this is you get to choose. You be you.   Best wishes, stay positive, and motivated,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Welcome aboard, Violet. What a pretty name!   You are among friends here. We are all on a journey, with things in common despite our individual uniqueness. I hope that makes sense!

Welcome Violet.  It's been awhile since i found this space with so many who understand the struggle to simply be ourselves in a society that often disapproves,  It isn't an easy path but being together we can share all the bumps and the joys. You are not alone.   Hugs,   Charlize

I'm sorry it didn't work out for the new job. Nothing to keep you from being on the search. I had a coworker who used to walk out of the locker room saying; "I was looking for a job with I found this one and I'll keep searching for the next one. Never let them think you're comfortable and settled."   The coffee has just finished brewing, and we have a HVAC technician coming in about 30 minutes to do an annual system check.   It's time to get out of my Pj's.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

@Sally Stone, I have enjoyed reading this thread immensely. There certainly are some things in it that I can relate to, particularly when you wrote that "I wasn’t a man trapped in a woman’s body." This simple statement confirmed two things for me; I am not an imposter here, and I could end up much further along the path than what I imagine now.   I very much look forward to your future posts here.   I hope that by posing this question I'm not committing you to spoil future posts, but can I ask, why you have settled on Bigender as a label? I keep changing my label and have no idea what it might be tomorrow or next week or next month!
