Hello. I have been strugling with my gender for about 15 years now. Hav not told anyone yet except my mother. But I think she just ignored me when I said so since she was picking me up at a birthday party where I had been drinking and probably just tougth I had too much.

As of name I haven't really found what have the rigth sound to it. But a male bi friend of mine that like to make his straigth friends uncomfortable just for friendly fun once called me victoria. It does feel a bit good so just sticking with it for the time being

Hello Victoria and welcome to Transpulse!

Names can be challenging. However, there's no rule that you have to use the same name throughout your transition. For example, when I was coming out my therapist asked what she should call me. I was completely flat footed. I hadn't even considered changing my name at that point as more than a hypothetical. I blurted out Jackie... because I named myself after "Jack" from Mass Effect, but I wanted it to be a little softer.

While I didn't keep Jackie in the end, she became my middle name. Jackie got me through some rough spots so I keep her close.

Looking forward to getting to know you better! In the meantime, look around and jump in when the mood strikes you.

Hugs!

Thank you. I just have to comment its nice to find another mass effect fan. And also Jack fan?

No my friend think I am just a regular straigth man and I have been trying to act so and distance myself from the tougth of all this. But when he teased me for driving the company truck that was called victoria it just stuck a bit in my head.

Victoria is a fine name, don't get me wrong. You just owe it to yourself to find that name that's a perfect fit.

Then again, changing your name is a huge legal thing over here. For all I know in Nordland they have legal name changes in vending machines. ?

Loved the Mass Effect series. Played it to death. It's weird, after coming out and living authentically, I play less video games. I mean not none, that would be silly, but it's almost like I don't need to go hide in an escapist fantasy nearly as much. So perks! I get to experience the real world now and then.

Hugs!

Well changing names is easy here in norway at least inside your gender if not the names are family protected and need family ties or marriage to get it. But here we are gender idented on or social number, which is a bit harder to change here. So males number ends with 1,3,5, 7 and 9. Female have 2,4 and so. So I heard at least. There was some talk to remove that to make it easier for us to not get much akward trouble when social number was checked. But I dont know if it have happend yet.

Until now games have been the escape from reality. Specially those who let you chose gender. So I know how it is to get lost in it.?

Other than that I tend to work as much as possible to avoid thinking of my situation.

Welcome to Trans Pulse, Victoria.  It doesn't sound like you're sure what path to follow yet, which is normal and fine.  If there are LGBT centers or gender therapists in your part of Norway and you can access them, that would be a great thing if you could get some counseling to help you find your way.  In the meantime, please look around the forums and read and learn.  We would love to hear what you have to say, too.  BTW your English is very good.

My wife and I were going to visit Norway and other Scandinavian countries last spring but the coronavirus ended our plans for now.  I know its a beautiful place.

HUGS

Thanks Carolyn, I sometimes feel I mess up some english words. But I have always liked comunicating with people. I have a big interest in cultures.

As of where I come from. It is a small town and people like to talk about everything thats not considered normal A4 life.

But other than feeling it's difficult taking the leap I have wanted a long time. Living in the northern parts of Norway is amazing. The fjords and mountains. And espescally the northern ligths are beutifull here.

You and your wife would love it when you can finaly travel. I recomend visiting lofoten. And try to get a glimpse of the nigth sky when outside the big towns.

Greetings Victoria.  That is a nice name but you can take your time to determine the direction to go.  It sounds like you are still in the early phase of true discovery.  That's an interesting notation "A4 life."  I had to look it up.

Taking the leap is difficult for many of us.  Do we stay as we are despite the discomfort but safe in knowing how life around us will be, or do we take the leap and move on to a life more like we envision when we think of a better place?  The reality is you don't have to give up much.  Yes some friends and family may be at odds with your change but it is your life to live.  I have met some of the most interesting and caring people since transitioning.  As the saying goes, one door closes and another one opens.

I would also love to travel to your region.  I have family in Denmark.  I know it is beautiful, if not a little cold!

Please join in the conversation.

Cheers, Jani

Yes despite of feeling like my hometown feeling a bit narrow when it comes to changes, I am still proud of my home place❤

We just had the first freeze on the road so we are near the challenge of being a driver here Jani

Every week I've been excited to take my shot, so it's never been an issue. Yesterday, however, I woke up and started my usual "slow roll" and then suddenly realized I had breakfast plans that I had to rush out the door for. After, it was straight into work calls, and then I got the notification from the doctor about things being too high and all the while my mind had completely slipped that I needed take my shot.   Given that I am not asking for medical advice, but sharing my journey, I will note my results: Estradiol at 447 pg/mL and Testosterone was 23 ng/dL, up and down from 26 pg/mL and 526 ng/dL respectively before treatment. Almost flipped the bit! The doc would like my Estradiol closer to 300 pg/mL, so we'll see what Monday's tests state.   Oh, and I teased the dinner with old soccer teammates and never updated the thread! It went well. There were a couple funny moments. One guy, who I was worried about their response, greeted me with "Hey, you've lost some weight!" 😎 And a friend who lives near me picked me up on the way to dinner exclaimed, after we learned one of the invitees might show up with a date, "Wait! We could have brought women?!" To which I instantly responded, "You kind of did, bringing me!" Everyone got a good laugh out of that. 😁

To me there isn't that much difference other the measurement, which side the zipper is on and men's pants have bigger pockets.

I hope this is not stupid question..I have yet to start n not sure if doc will approve..but once you start growing buds n such, can you still wear forms to get to the size you were?   I'm a dad, so when I start blossoms they will be smaller for a long time n probably need surgical augmented..that's fine. I don't want to go ddd to aa to ddd..   any ideas?   thank you

I like them too.  We had them growing up.  But my father's family were Swedes.

Oh my!  I guess it just goes to show how different tastes can be. Since we don't live near the ocean, Seafood is a rare luxury. We absolutely love pickled herring! Especially my husband and my GF, I guess it's a Ferman/Russian cultural thing.  But most of the kids like it too, and a jar wouldn't last in the pantry for long 😆

I think the key to that is just not minding eating the same thing repeatedly. Since we produce a lot of our own food here, we end up eating what is in season at the moment. So, when the yellow squash is ripening, we end up fixing squash 20 different ways. When the strawberries are ready, we eat lots of strawberries. It's kind of a different mindset to eat in season when it has become such a part of American culture but the grocery store has everything we want all the time. Like grapes in December.  My family does even things out a little bit by having a greenhouse so we have some fresh things in the winter, but it's not a 100% fix.

My brothers and I had to eat what was on the plate.  All of it, and nothing else.  Pickiness was not tolerated.  Some of our least favourite were liver and onions, sauerkraut, and especially rollmops (pickled herring).  We finally protested enough to persuade our mother not to serve rollmops, though she kept a jar in the pantry for years afterwards, as a threat if we didn't behave.

I'll go first.  My favorite team is the Yankees.  Loved them since I was a kid.  I was born in NYC so, yeah.  I know everyone loves to hate them, and that's OK.  I just love baseball in general.  It's a game of traditions, strategy, power, grace and skill.   Play Ball!!  ⚾   Carolyn Marie

I guess you do have a good point. It's just hard to try and not have the same meals over and over again.

Hi   I’ll weigh in on being picky about food.  Yes, and I was brought up that way.  We didn’t have to eat everything our parents ate.  They had a number of things they ate that they figured we wouldn’t eat, an acquired taste things or one or the other didn’t like them too.   even as an adult there are many things I won’t eat.  In my defense, there are different things my wife won’t eat.   the weird thing is that after being in E, my tastes have changed.  Sweet, sour, salty or bland, if I eat or drink too much of any one thing and I have to counter act it.   Willow

I have shared my doses and levels a lot and no one has said anything. Yeah I put alarms on my phone to make sure I don't miss a dose. I tend to forget a lot of stuff on what needs to be done. I have been also using the calendar on my phone a lot. I missed an appointment because I didn't put it in my calendar.

Feeling better than I did yesterday
    • MaeBe
It's official. My doctor wants me retested after the last results (too high). The test, that she scheduled, was likely too close to the dose. She did tell me to keep the increased dose instead of reverting to my old one, probably because my "too high" wasn't that high. I don't know what the forum's stance is on results, knowing full well the rules against sharing dosage, so I'll keep those under wraps until I know if it's OK to share those. Less to say, it was over the range she feels comfortable with by about 50%, but taken a day earlier than the midpoint value she was expecting. Grains of salt everywhere!   Of course I messed everything up too, missing my dose for the first time, yesterday. I had to re-reschedule the lab I setup yesterday to Monday from Saturday after taking my shot this morning to avoid the same issue with the testing. I woke up and thought, "Thursday, what do I have to do for work today? OH -crap-, IT'S THURSDAY! I missed my shot yesterday!"   Anyhoo. Question for the ladies: does anyone else get a mild zen-like high after their shots/doses? My brain feels lighter and I'm happier and I feel a lot more girlie this morning. 💃

I'm into my fourth month of HRT and just titrated up in dosage after my last checkup. This is my life. 🤭   I have yet to grow out of my B cup bras, but I have noticed more fullness, having started with gynecomastia. I am seeing less gapping in bras with my right breast, which has always been smaller than my left. My areolae are slightly pronounced/projected now, that are larger but not vastly greater in circumference, and I have noticed little to no nipple changes beyond their painful sensitivity.
