Am I Just A Crossdresser Or More????

I have been a house crossdresser ( out of the closet but not the house) I have worn lingerie for almost 15 years. Only 1% of my underwear are mens but they are not common. while I haven't dressed fully or gone out dressed, I do have a pair of forms, some makeup and a wig. I am lucky I have a understanding wife who knows about my wardrobe. ( but the forms, makeup and wig)

The thing I am wondering is that lately, when I have seen a beautiful woman I am wanting to be her. To be that good looking, have that gorgeous of a body. Look good in those cloths, Etc. I have also been thinking I would rather be a woman, how it would be like etc.

But the thing is I am some what happy as I am. married to a great lady and have three wonderful boys. I enjoy doing what I do as I am. But I also wonder what it would be like to be on the other side doing things I do. I am diagnosed with major depression from my military time. see a VA therapist every few months. As I am able to deal with my depression right now. Because my crossdressing hasn't been to much of an issue with my depression I have not talked to my councilor about it.

So am I just a crossdresser or am I progressing towards something else?

Hello, Kymmie!

I'm Donna Jean....

Honey....A lot of us MTF's started out cross dressing because it was the first step in a progression for us....

Some of us did it for many years before we realized that it was MUCH deeper that simply cross dressing!

And there are lots and lots of CD's that are perfectly happy dressing on occasion and that is all they will ever need!

I guess that everyone else falls in between there somehow!

But, Hon, you are seeing a therapist now, and if you really want to sort this out you need to see a Gender specific trained therapist... they will help you sort this out.

I don't know if the VA will provide you with that kind of therapist or not, but I do know that different VA's have different ways of operating...some even cover girls hormones and therapy!

You need to make a few calls...

I'm a vet, too, although I don't use the VA for anything...

Sweetie...this isn't something that you can work out by yourself....

Check it out......OK?

Donna Jean, thanks for the advice. I hope I can find a gender specific therapist in my little corner of the world. But I am close to CO so I may have to go there. Thanks again.

I Just wanted to let you know that these questions are very common sothere is no need to jump into a label.

Work with your therapist, the one that Donna Jean is helping you find, and they will help you to find your comfort zone.

Love ya,

Sally

Hi Kymmie,

I originally believed that i was a CD, but this has changed as I truly believe that I should have been born a girl and wish this were so.

I hate labels as it is nearly impossible to box somebody into a category as people are individuals and unique.

I agree with Donna Jean and Sally that you should see a therapist if this is causing you any anguish.

If not enjoy the ride and see where it leads. :D

@rachel1 I would say while enjoying the ride see a gender therapist. If you are trans then they are the ones to get you started and guide you. They can also help with things like coming out, and those ever valuable letters that we all need.

Hi, Kymmie! I was on VC for a while so missed your post. I'd like to offer a belated welcome to Laura's. You've found a

wonderful place to explore the issues you raised. The members are the freindliest and most helpful I;ve found

anywhere, and totally non-judgemental.

I've asked the very same question you're asking yourself, and I am not sure of the answer either. I'm about to embark

on the gender therapy adventure and try to figure it all out. It's really become an all-consuming issue for me lately. I've

been a cross-dresser since my teens but for a variety of reasons never pursued the matter further.

There are so many issues to consider, especially if, as in our case, we have families involved. In many ways I think

the kids have an easier time making the decision to transition, but of course they have parent issues to deal with.

I'm sure you can find some gender specialists in your area. I wish you the best of luck. You're welcome to PM me if

you have questions or thoughts. I'm certainly no expert but I love to exchange ideas.
