Excuses For Leg Shaveing.

I agree with ALL of it! I shave everything below my eyebrows! I'm sitting here with smooth legs and nylons on my lazy boy watching tv with my wife. She loves me as-is. Sometimes I put in my breast forms. Also, our 8 year old doesn't notice anything. We've conditioned him that people should not be teased for being different. I wear my forms, pink shirt, and pink shorts, painted toes, and open-toe sandals and make up and he don't even notice. It's all about being yourself and teaching your kids that everyone is special. My wife NEVER dresses girlie. (that's my job! :harhar: )

You could say ''Oh some of my friends dared me to do it for money'' However if you keep getting questioned, that excuse wont work out. Or you could simply say, you don't like having hairy legs. Every body has their own preferences! :D

My friend Carolyn , a t-girl, was asked about her shaved legs and said "I had side effect from some prescription medications"

I said " and they believed that" ?

Apparently so!

Sometimes " the big lie" works! :-)

Really been wanting to shave my legs, but that's just not tolerated where I live. A good excuse is that you shaved them for martial arts. If you got devastating kicks like I used to have, your shin kicks can pull out your leg hairs if it drags across the heavy bag, which is about as pleasant as it sounds. I had to tie up my ankle because I would bloody it practicing my kicks. Makes you sound like a hard donkey. Tell 'em it's a canvas bag, and anyone in boxing or muy thai will tell you that canvas bags are rough.

After years of shaving and epilating all the hidden parts, I suddenly decided, 'what the hell' and shaved my arms. My arms are visible every day at work, but if anybody noticed, nothing was said! Given that my arm hair was not really thick, I knew it was missing!!!! There lies the problem with most cders, it is how you think others will see you! I have now started shaping my eyebrows with the same negative result from work colleagues. I am encouraged by my recent experiences, but where will all this lead?

Personal satifaction, that's where. Wearing a dress and make-up to work would be pushing it a bit, but you all get the gist of my post, don't you?

Go for it girl, nobody gives a Gosh darned nowadays, they are too busy with their own lives to notice minor changes in your's.

You may not get any response fron the people posting here as the TOPIC is very old. But perhaps it needs revisiting anyway.

Grin - when asked, I said 'it's cooler,' meaning in the heat.

I guess I shaved my legs regularly for about 10 years before I discovered I wanted to transition. Nobody really noticed.

Hope this helps

My girlfriend actually likes it better when I DO shave so I am lucky in that regard, haha. I have not done it very often so for me its still an awful lot of work but the end results are worth it! ;)

I also shave my legs, (and my privates!) and if anybody asks, like the others here I just say that it feels good, which it does!

also in summer i say it helps me to stay cool!

Eyebrows are what they notice girls. In 45 years I still can't light a gas water heater or furnace without burning off all my eyebrows! Perhaps there is a support group for this. I have had to go through my whole life looking like a crossdresser!

Kelise your a hoot!

Oddly enough nobody has ever asked me about shaving my legs, I think since most of my body hair is blond people assume it's there and just don't notice it? Who knows.

I have been pointed out for shaving my arm pits though, I just say it really helps to control body odor and they should try it.

On the other hand most people I work with think I'm from another planet so I doubt anything I say or do surprises anyone.

Thank you for re-animating this thread. This was one of my "thread killer" victims. I'd forgotten what I'd written here. It made me smile ^_^

I was shocked one day ... But i will start here. When I was in the army and wearing armyboots and wools socks the hair on my legs wore away and never grew back..... I was made fun of!!!! half hairy legs!!! the top half!! so I started to shave my legs and I went higher than my legs(being proper here) and so I found out that when I didn;t shave the body odor was stronger and when I did shave (OMG Panties and nylons I just die for!!!! LOL )

Well after many years and getting in to the outdoor sports like hunting. I didn't shave at all figuring I would be teased and ridiculed!! OMG how wrong I was!! the guys I hunted with shaved!! EVERYTHING!!!! I thought wholly cow!!! why? and it was because the hair trapped odor which was not good scent wise and when shaved everything feels cleaner and cooler!!!. I also found out alot of the professional guides and hunters shave!!! EVERYTHING!!!

Guess what? I shave and it takes a long time to shave the body but I do it all the time. I am slowly working on my eyebrows!! But I shave now. Oh yea take a look at the TV comercials for the guys who do deoderant or for modeling jeans or work out equipment.... The guys don't have hair on their bodies!!! they have rippling abs bare abs!!!! Just like those beautiful women!!!

Guess what?

I started shaving back in the mid 90's I shave everything from my face to my toes except for a little postage stamp size square patch down below. It is cleaner and feels cooler in the hot summer time. I have gotten where I don't like hair on my body at all, It's feels so nice being squeaky smooth all over.

Yes, going hairless is a trend among young "metrosexuals". It isn't nearly as common for us "old guys". There IS a reason why they now have "Nair for Men" and it's available at your local Walgreens. I just started shaving (everything but my eyebrows and the hair on my head) a few months ago and I love the feeling of being "smooth all over", even when I am in full "man mode".

I shave my legs because it's my body and i want to. I like it, I like the clean look and the feel of smooth legs. If somebody doesn't like it? well, lol they don't have to shave their legs then.

Those who matter don't mind

Shave because it's what you want to do, I have shaved my legs, and I keep my chest, abs and underarms shaved, and no one has ever said word to me and being in Fl and right near the beach I get a lot of time with my shirt off in the summer (which for non-Floridians) is March thru January, what the rest of the country calls winter, we call February... :harhar:

My daughter (4) found my razors, which are pink, in the bathroom cupboard one day. She just happily said, "Daddy, did you buy these for me for when I grow up? They're pink, so they must be for me!"

Ahh, from the mouths of babes...

I shave from the waist down and my armpits normally. A few weeks ago I decided I woukd shave my chest as well. Our ten year old twins noticed and asked why. Of course this isn't the first time, but the first time in a longtime. I told them that I wanted to, and why does it matter? Fortunately they have been raised aroun people who are different and left it at that.

Im glad this thread came back to life as not long ago I found this little bomb http://scholarcommons.usf.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2863&context=etd&sei-redir=1#search=%22Michael%20Boroughs%20brown%20university%22 Now according to this thesis the only people who might care that you shave are women who will now cross you of their want list and a few stupid Rednecks who won't be getting the women that crossed you off their list anyway. Perhaps we should do some "Mythbusters"on this to zero in on this. For one, I wonder how many women like crossdressers with very hairy bodies? Who knows, it might be the hair and not the clothes that attracts women or it could be the other thing. but thats for another post.

I can't believe I haven't responded to this thread before.

I've never shaved my legs (or arms or anywhere else on my body) because I have no hair there. I've been wearing shorts and going topless for all of my male years without a single person ever asking what happened to my hair.

No excuses! You are what you are! (even if it grows back in a week or two)

Love, Megan

I have just shaved my legs again last night. I had let my leg hair grow out because I was meeting family I hadn't met, ever, in a warm cities. I was worried they would think less of me if they say me with shaved legs when i wore shorts. I am going to start going out a little bit with shorts on with my smooth legs. I am still worried but maybe I'll think about the bet excuse if I am questioned. It really is sad that some many people have to label people and make them feel bad. Smooth legs are so much nicer when the weather warms up.

I have had my legs noticed a few times, used the bicycle excuse "Easier to clean after a crash." Works for motorcyclists as well. Last time I was noticed was on a trip to Hawaii and just ignored them. Frends we were with never said a word. I think the best reply is "Thanks for noticing"

I shave my legs because I like the way they feel and look, plus I have had several positive comments on how good my legs look.

As has been said many times, this is not a black and white issue. Sure.  I get it that a MtF person that has gone through full male puberty and "transitioned" 6 months ago probably has an advantage in some sports.  But these bans affect elementary school kids too. I mean, banning trans women from Darts?  Chess?

Good morning    Now @Abigail Genevieve and @Mmindy what makes you so certain I didn’t mean it to say bee itch certificate?  lol. Thanks Mindy. I was asleep when you saw this and fixed it, and yes Abigail, as a moderator I could have fixed it myself, or weren’t you pointing out the irony of that?   I use Alexis as my alarm to get up.  And I set the ringer to be two guys telling me to get up.  I was so sound asleep when they started telling me to get up that it scared me and my first thought were I had over slept.  Since I have a difficult time getting to sleep as early as I have to in order to get enough sleep I at least cut back my normal awake time to get ready.  But now I have to do my hair and get going.   enjoyed my coffee and a little time catching up   see you all later, for its hi ho hi ho it’s off to work I go.   Willow

Republicans have long committed grave errors by emphasizing their social agenda and moral issues instead of just focusing on the economy, lowering taxes, keeping the public safe, building a strong national defense, promoting business, touting reasonable immigration policies, etc.   The country would thrive economically under Trump's tax and business policies. That's a fact. Another four years of Biden will run this country into the ground financially (including all of our 401Ks and IRAs). But the GOP continues to play right into the Dems' hands by leading with their moral crusades instead of staying the course and trusting their fiscal policies to win the day...

Thanks.  I will look those up in the document, hopefully tomorrow.   I always look at the source on stuff like this, not what someone, particularly those adversarial, have to say.

LGBTQ rights Project 2025 takes extreme positions against LGBTQ rights, seeking to eliminate federal protections for queer people and pursue research into conversion therapies in order to encourage gender and sexuality conformity. The policy book also lays out plans to criminalize being transgender and prohibit federal programs from supporting queer people through various policies. The project partnered with anti-LGBTQ groups the Family Policy Alliance, the Center for Family and Human Rights, and the Family Research Council. Project 2025 calls for the next secretary of Health and Human Services to “immediately put an end to the department’s foray into woke transgender activism,” which includes removing terms related to gender and sexual identity from “every federal rule, agency regulation, contract, grant, regulation, and piece of legislation that exists.” The Trump administration proposed a similar idea in 2018 that would have resulted in trans people losing protections under anti-discrimination laws. [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023; The New Republic, 2/8/24] Similarly, the policy book calls for HHS to stop all research related to gender identity unless the purpose is conformity to one's sex assigned at birth. The New Republic explains: “That is, research on gender-nonconforming children and teenagers should be funded by the government, but only for the purpose of studying what will make them conform, such as denying them gender-affirming care and instead trying to change their identities through ‘counseling,’ which is a form of conversion therapy.” [The New Republic, 2/8/24] The policy book’s foreword by Kevin Roberts describes “the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children” as “pornography” that “should be outlawed,” adding, “The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned.” Roberts also says that “educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023] Roberts’ foreword states that “allowing parents or physicians to ‘reassign’ the sex of a minor is child abuse and must end.” Echoing ongoing right-wing attacks on trans athletes, Roberts also claims, “Bureaucrats at the Department of Justice force school districts to undermine girls’ sports and parents’ rights to satisfy transgender extremists.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023; TIME magazine, 5/16/22] Dame Magazine reports that Project 2025 plans to use the Department of Justice to crack down on states that “do not charge LGBTQ people and their allies with crimes under the pretense that they are breaking federal and state laws against exposing minors to pornography.” [Dame Magazine, 8/14/23] Project 2025 also calls for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to repeat “its 2016 decision that CMS could not issue a National Coverage Determination (NCD) regarding ‘gender reassignment surgery’ for Medicare beneficiaries.” The policy book’s HHS chapter continues: “In doing so, CMS should acknowledge the growing body of evidence that such interventions are dangerous and acknowledge that there is insufficient scientific evidence to support such coverage in state plans.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023] Going further, Project 2025 also demands that the next GOP administration “reverse policies that allow transgender individuals to serve in the military.” The policy book’s chapter on the Defense Department claims: “Gender dysphoria is incompatible with the demands of military service, and the use of public monies for transgender surgeries … for servicemembers should be ended.” [Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, 2023]   …summaries of what’s within the rest of the document re: LGBTQ+ concerns. A person can believe their gender is fixed but incongruent with their physiology, but the authors and Trump (by his own words) just see the incongruity of an “expressed gender” that conflicts with what was/is in a person’s pants.
