Hello to all, and to all, hello! I am 17 and I identify as FTM/genderqueer. I've no name *see fun fact 1. I come with cake... and my share of gender baggage. I feel genderqueer rather than straight (or gay) up male because I feel as though a tiny woman lives inside of me, and she's made herself very comfortable. She and I know that I used to be her, but now I've moved on. (I do hope that no one thinks I truly believe that there's literally a minuscule woman living it up in my brain or something... I'm not that crazy... I mean, in order for that to happen, she'd need a little submarine to travel through my body with, and everyone knows they don't make them tiny enough for her. ;) ) However, though I feel genderqueer, I don't really want to present myself ambiguously, so I really want to do what I can to be seen as male.

A few fun (if you can call them that) facts:

1) I don't have a first name worked out yet. I really want a new name, but I get very anxious and uncertain about names, and to date I've gone through at least 4 names. I don't mind going by my nickname, Walnut, although I realize that in real life, my nickname would clash with my desire to be taken seriously. (That, and I feel like I've grown out of it, and I need an actual name to go by...) But anyway, I'm always working this out, and I figure that no one here is going to seriously harass me for this, so it's safe to come here for some help should I need it.

2) I love humor, and I often fill my posts with sarcasm, wit, and cookies, usually to lighten the mood (when appropriate) and to help me deal with the stuff that happens to me in life.

3) I'm seeing a therapist for other issues in my life, and it's pretty well agreed upon (except for my mother) that I have generalized anxiety disorder, so to me, the littlest things can be blown into the biggest catastrophes, which does not exclude my gender issues. In fact, as I type this, I'm already fearing being rejected and criticized for this post, even though it's just an introduction. *sigh* In light of this, I would ask nicely to please not do what my friends did and say (jokingly or not) things like "Augh, I swear if you change your name one more time...!" Though, I'm pretty sure there's something in the rules for the forums that saying anything like that will not end well for the poster. That and this is a forum dedicated to trans issues, so if I were ever in search of a place quite sensitive to trans issues, I think I've found it.

I felt like providing some pictures, as a visual enhancement to this post.

That's me in 8th grade, just 3 short years ago. I was struggling with just my sexual orientation back then.

This is me as of 8/12/09... 1:30 AM, EST. Yeah. I lead a very exciting life.

I look forward posting some more and talking with all of you! And if I said something that doesn't quite make sense, I don't mind explaining (to the best of my abilities).

Toodles :D

Hello, welcome to the family!

You don't need to worry about your post being rejected, we've all known how you feel at some point. :)

As for the name changing, I tend to do that a lot, though I think I'm sticking with what I've got at the moment.

I hope you don't mind me saying this but as soon as I saw the second picture my first thought was "Nick Swardson!" 'Cause (to me) you looked a lot like him in that photo. Here's a picture of him.

By the way, that's a good thing (in my opinion anyway :P )

Sorry for the name, it just seems to fit. I am one of those moderators that you might feel are going to give you some grief.

GUESS WHAT? We don't do that! We do things really to keep us (and you are one of us now) safe and free from preditors and trolls and other kinds of meanies. We just check to see if the posts in general are appropriate for our members, I mean PG-13 and all, and don't talk aout dosages and things like that.

You have found a friendly site and YES - transgender issues! That's what we do here - besides having friends and people around that help each other. And you will find everyone here INSTANTLY understands you. It is so unique that way. And there are a lot of us with Social Anxiety and other things that keep us from feeling good about ourselves. Its a place to discuss feelings - and - if you want - change your name every time you post, just tell us who you are today! Grin. But post post and post some more.

And your intro? Just right!

You will fit right in - so

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME

Hey Wally,

I kind of like that - you can keep your old nick name add Wally as a new nick name and be Walter if you really want to be taken seriously.

I usually ofer hot cocoa and some fresh baked cookies to our new members but you have brought cake and apparently some cookies too, so already you fit right in.

We are here to help each other so feel free to be yourself.

Welcome to the family.

Love ya,

Sally

Thank you for the welcomes, everyone :D

NSN - Wow, I never knew I had a celebrity look-a-like. Now I've got something to brag--er, celebrate. Yeah, that's it.

Liz - I don't mind the name so much. I will say that at the moment, I'm test driving the name Wesley. Wesley, Wally... They both start with "W", so it works!

Sally - Ooh, I love hot cocoa! And Walter is a serious name, it's true.

DJ - Of course you can have some cake, that's why I brought it! And I'm pretty sure with a welcome like this, getting comfortable will be no problem.

What I don’t like about the dealer working on my car, yes the put the paper mats on the floor, but why don’t they remove them when they bring my car to me?  And why do they always mess with my radio settings and my electronic dashboard settings?  I get them the way I want them and they seem to want them at factory default.  Leave things like you find them!  Why is that so difficult?  And don’t tell me it’s because the updated the computer! Every time!.  And no I haven’t figured out everything yet on the new car.  I can’t even get my key programmed to move my seat when I get in and out.  It’s supposed to move the seat, the mirrors, the steering wheel and several other things.  My old Eddie Bauer was easy to program but then it only programmed seat location and pedal location.   ok now that we’ve had our rousing knock on cars and dealer mechanics.  What else shall we talk about?  Bras?  Seems like an appropriate subject for most of us.  I have several different types. Two are famous store push-up padded to are more common everyday lightly padded ant one is a no padding no strap slip and the last one is a front close longline no padding.  Now that one supports the theory that I am now a B cup on my own. I’d prefer a C but then I’m not so sure my blouses would still fit without pulling.  Ah the problem we have as women.  And sizes are never ever the same.  Oh I’m a size ??  But men I need a large shirt and 36-30 pants and they always fit.   we can’t buy anything off the rack with confidence it will fit and I hate having to take it home to try one and return what doesn’t fit.   we’ll time to do my hair and leave.   love ya   Willow

Hello we are The lake. So called because This One has not determined a name for oneself but has in a way created an environment to try out multiple names as different people. Currently Some of us use she/her pronouns and one uses he/him. We hope to learn more about being transgender and the intricacies involved. Once again it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance and we hope to be of further help in the future.
