Whats In Name

A name represents all a persons deeds, accomplishments, failures. and moral/ethical values which can describe who they are.

With this I introduce Steven a 22 y/o Marine Veteran who in those 22 years survived against odds, suffered numerous injustices and betrayals by those closest to him, but still graduated high school, earned a honorable discharge and is currently attending college. Fear not our hero has a fatal flaw. And like any other good greek tragedy before this one our hero realizes he is his own worst enemy and prepares to meet his adversary whose existence has been shut out and hid in the darkest recesses of the soul. After a long duel of epic proportions and grandeur our hero cedes to the victor which is...... tune in next week.

I didn't want to come in with the idea of ["Hi I am Bob" (audience " Hi Bob") Bob "I am an Alcoholic"] so at least i best i made you raise an eyebrow and maybe let out a inaudible chuckle. On a slightly more serious note yes my legal name is Steven, does it truly represent me, no if I had to choose a name I would choose Lauren (the english version of laura, yes i know and in the need to be defensive I have had the name picked out for years) I am a MTF Transsexual and just recently moved from the state of denial, go therapy. And if anyone asks I am a realist masquerading as a cynic who is secretly a optimist. I understand this isnt easy, its not always fun and its even most of the time going to be a good day but as they say its not how many times you fall its how many times you pick yourself back up, and everyone needs a hug every now and then.

For you monotheists, God Bless

For you atheists and agnostic, Take Care and Have Fun

And to the goddess and her people, Blessed be

Hello, Lauren!

Gee...how neat to meet you..

I LOVE your intro...never knew what was coming up next!

Well, welcome to the Playground...

I'll serve you some hot coco and some of Sally's delicious Double chocolet Chip cookies...that ought to bring everyone runnin'!

We've a safe site here and we don't judge ...you are who you are...

I like your attitude...you seem to be taking things by the horns..at least as far as realazation of who and what you are!

And like you, I'm a Vet, too...Air Force...(don't hold that against me!)

Please get comfortable, Honey...it really is nice to have you here!

HUGGS!

Lauren, welcome to Laura's!

As my sisters have said already, your intro was very well written and clever. I

enjoyed it.

You display not only a sense of humor (which you'll see in great abundance here)

but also a sense of purpose and optimism. We always need lots of that around

here too.

Enjoy your cocoa and cookies, check out the forums and chat rooms, ask

questions, and make yourself at home. You're among friends.
