G'Day All

My name is Chiana (well whilst in female mode) and I was born a male. For as long as I can remember I have always wished to be female and only recently started HRT about a week ago.

I hope one day to be able to go out in public as female but the thought of doing that the first time scares the crap out of me. I occasionally wear leggings out in public and I am amazed at how very few looks I get. Once I wore shiny tights with shorts while out with friends and to this day cant believe I did it with no comments from them or other people.

I am married (to the most wonderful person) but my wife only knows about my cross dressing. Maybe one day I will summon the courage to tell her about the hormone treatment but at this point in time she has enough on her plate to deal with.

Only a few very close friends, Mum and my wife know about my cross dressing and no one (other than my doctors and this forum) knows about my HRT.

I have always been attracted to females even when in femme mode. I guess if I was born a girl I would be considered a lesbian.

I'm not one who likes describing myself (especially to strangers) so I'll keep this short. Going by the few posts I have read so far you all seem like a great bunch of people and I hope that I will fit in and get to know you all.

I'll wrap it up now as its getting late and my brain is crying out for some sleep (plus the sooner I go to bed the sooner I can wake up and take another hormone tablet)

Cheers.

PS: I love pizza and chocolate chip cookies.

Well, Chiana....

Pizza and chocolate chip cookies it is! And something to wash it down...your choice!

Welcome to the Playground, Hon!

So good to have you here...

Your hormones are doctor prescribed? I hope so,..if you've been here a little bit you know how we are about that!

So, sit over here and kick off your shoes and wiggle your toes...just get comfy.....

I love Oz..... Been there before as has Sally! (She'll be here later)

And you might start considering what to tell your mate before the changes become obvious....

There is a lot of help here , so read all that you can...OK?

And everyone is very nice and helpful!

Nice to have you here, Honey....

HUGGS!

Another Aussie - soooo good! Jacci (StormBird) is always so good to have around... and there are so many others - even a Kiwi! and as you can see we are all over the world here.

SO WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME

And we only know you as Chiana - and that is as it should be, and the world spins happily through space - all is well... Where did that come from??? hee hee

Well - you appear to be on a journey of self acceptance and discovery. I assume you have a gender trained therapist and your HRT is monitored, Illegals can be dangerous! Oh yes!

And we know you a bit now - and for introductions, start looking around and finding like minded people. After 5 postings you are open to the private messaging feature - which allows personal contact. If you contacted me I would say I am married, on HRT and live in New Orleans, Louisiana. Then we would talk about what a big ole world it is that we reached across - that huge space to touch minds!

Laura's Playground is a miracle!

Anyway

Welcome to a very loving and friendly place.

Welcome to Laura's, Chiana. That is a lovely name, BTW. Very unique.

You've met my good friends and had our welcome snacks, so I hope you're

feeling at home here. This is truly a family here, much more than just a

support site. We look after each other and we do care.

Speaking of caring, Donna Jean mentioned about telling your S.O. about your

being on HRT. I agree - I think it would be wise to consider that approach. But

you can read the experiences of others and see how you feel about it.

We love our Aussie's and Kiwi's here, so welcome aboard.

Thank you all for your warm welcome.

No shrimp for me thanks, Stormbird, my body doesn't agree with seafood (Gosh darned genetics) but that just means more for everyone else.

As far as something to wash it all down with I'll have a scotch, dry with no ice (Glen Fiddich if possible) Thanks, :)

Oh, I forgot to mention in my intro that I am a Simpsons fanatic. So i appologise now for all the Simpson references I make in the future.

Thank you all once again

Well I suppose we could all get together at Moe's and chat a bit.

Greetings to my new freind and sister down under.

We can just put that nasty booting incident behind us and be great friends (I've watched more than an episode or two myself).

I do think that you should talk to your wife about the hormones before too long, it is a shock when you tell someone but for them to discover that you have been on HRT without telling them is more like dropping an anvil on them.

So start thinking of how to tell her and do be gentle - this hit you hard when you first figured it outm it will be at least that hard for her.

So G'day and remember Dingos make lousy pets!

Love ya,

Sally

Thank you all again

Jean, I have never backed away from a challenge, so to anyone who think they can "out simpson" me remember that I watch an appalling amount of tv.

Sally, "Bart vs Australia" is actually one of my favourite episodes. I read an interview with the writers and it mentioned that because they knew they would get a few things wrong, they went out of their way to get EVERYTHING wrong. But thats the best part about us Aussies, we are the first to crack jokes about ourselves.

Thanks again

Chiana

PS: rest assured I will tell my wife, and I know that she will be understanding and supportive. However, this point in time is no good as her Father is terminally ill and not long for this world. She doesn't need this on her plate right now.

This is fantastic, We're adding a Boxer to our family sometime this evening or tomorrow. His name is Parker. We'll be crate training him as well as introducing him to two cats that have never been around a dog.   Pictures to follow later,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I still don't understand how any queer people can vote for these people.  I'll just leave it at that.

Thanks Kathy!    Some place where the peer pressure is to dress more feminine instead of less.  Imagine that. I haven't left the house in fem clothing since an outing to a local LGBT club over 15 years ago.   She's also pointed me to some support groups so that's next as well.     And for those who noticed, yes, I committed a rather egregious grammatical error in my post, but I couldn't figure out how to edit it.  That stuff bugs me to death. Geez Louise .

Just more of the same.  Unfortunately, I'm coming to expect it.

Everybody doesn't feel this way. As a AMAB child (in the 50's) I don't think I questioned my body, but I was quite fascinated with girl stuff.  When puberty hit I really wished I was a girl - but alas - I was stuck living as a guy.  As an adult I had pretty bad  homophobia, which was probably internalized transphobia, but I didn't really know what transgender was at the time.  And by then I was locked into a marriage and family. I lived like that for most of my life, and convinced myself (but not my wife) that I was happy.  When we were in our 60's, the marriage fell apart.  And I believe a large part of that was me resisting my feminine self.  When I no longer had to live up to being a man, I dared to take another peek inside, and my egg cracked big time. I still don't think I was "born in the wrong body."  Maybe it just needed a little tweaking. I think our "gender" is an internal thing.   I don't regret having lived so long trying to be a guy.  But if I could have transitioned as a child it would have been awesome.

Said it is possibly ptsd and anxiety, wants a second opinion.

@Adrianna DanielleSeeing two different therapist for separate issues really helped me deal with the each of them on different levels. I hope this works for you too.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I have been having issues from my past and going to get help for.It has been from my parents whom are deceased that forced me into being the person whom I really was not before I came out.Therspist I see for my transitioning said going to refer me a therapist that deals with ptsd and anxiety issues.

I seem to remember the word "deplorables" being used not long ago.  Unfortunately so often appropriate.   Hugs,   Charlize

It was not that long ago that black people were banned from the University of Mississippi.  Schools were segregated and the same excuse of protecting the women (or girls) of old miss.  Times and many feeling have changed with time and federal intervention.  Unfortunately politicians love to separate and divide to gain power.     Hugs,   Charlize

I agree @Birdieto just "fit in", is what drove us to therapy. I'm not fitting in just to please someone with a closed mind. At least you know who your fair weather friends are now.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Yesterday in the lobby some of the residents were talking with me. One asked, "how come in all the TV commercials at the centre you don't appear in any of them?"   I explained that, "I'm an embarrassment to the centre and they don't know what to do with me." I get edited out!   Quite the differing options with the ladies at the table as some of them said, "that's discrimination", while others said, "they can see why."   Another lady said, "you would fair better if you cut your hair and went back to overalls, you should strive to fit in!"   Their opinions are as meaningful to me as rubbish. I did 45 years of trying to "fit in", and not doing that again. 😉
