Face Shaving And The "third Day"

Its been a long time since I have had the chance to get on here or on the chat. So many things have been going on in my life lately. I have some things currently happning that I have questions about. Sorry but this is going to be long . . .

I am 24 now and I have known I was meant to be a girl for a very very long time. I have been living as full time as i can possibly manage for 6 years now. With all the time I have known I have had plenty of it to try things out and figure out what works best for me. As far as face/neck/(collar bone area) is concerned I have had nothing but issues from the start. Even when I wasnt on hormones I had to wait longer periods between shaving than what whas "normal." My face is very sensetive. I have had 10 sessions of laser (about 3 years ago) and have also gone as far as to have my whole face professionally waxed many times (OUCH!) It is obviously still going to come back no matter what I do.

What is going on with me right now is that I have just recently move back to the area (group of towns) I lived in as a child. I was living in the 13th largest city in the US. Things went horribly wrong and my mother came to rescue me so to speak. The thing is that this place is prolly the oddest place in the country if not the world. There are a lot of small town people who dont act like small town people but like to keep things the way they are and small townish so to speak. Its still fairly segregated here in an odd sense aswell. I guess it is everywhere still but here more so than other places ive seen. People have learned to accept things for how they are one way or another but still dont like those grey areas. For me (on my good days) I have no problem passing at all until I open my mouth. But Ill save that for another time. What Is worrying me right now is that I have to find a job and start working. A lot of people here dont even notice me but I know if I am working they will and what will happen next? I have had some nice people I have met since I have been here tell me to be extra careful. "You never can trust people around here you could end up dead in a field and not found for months around here."

One of my biggest problems is shaving my face. I am on a 3 day cycle at the moment that I just cant break. Day 1 I shave and I am good all day and through 90% of Day 2 aswell. Come day 3 I have facial hair and cant do anything about it. It has been a problem at most of the jobs I have had but they have dealt with it for the most part. If I am working with the public here tho things will be different (if I am lucky enough to find a job).

I am still unsure of what the reason for the day 3 thing is but if I shave on day 3 instead of waitng a day and starting over again it causes the razor to tear my face up then I cant shave for a week while it heals. I shave with baby oil and a disposable razor and I against the grain so I get a smoother shave and you dont see the darkness thru my makeup. That way I dont look like I have makeup caked on all the time and if someone touches my face it is nice and smooth not rough. I also found that by shaving in the shower I ended up with a 3 day cycle instead of a 4 day cycle like I had prior to. I dont want the hair to get worse so I have to shave every other day or even every day but It would be very nice to find out how I can manage to not tear my face up when I shave on day 3 so that I can atleast look pretty all the time even If I dont sound pretty. (I will be posting something on voice soon aswell)

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions it is greatly appreciated. Maybe some of the things I have mention will help others aswell.

<3 always,

Christie

This can be a major problem. I have a light hair growth and can usually survive that awkward day - without being noticed. But my routine is different. I was on electrolysis but finances got to me - and that was worse because you can't shave at all!

So I am on a three part regimine - I use a depilator (google that) I tweeze what I can by hand (but that take a huge time investment) and I shave like you do. The shaving part is usually accomplished using old fashion shaving soap and a brush to lather up. the soap has no perfumes or preservatives and is made for only shaving. I also shave against the grain but in three directions, and directly against - one from a cross right - the final with a cross left. I use my other hand to run along, seeing what I miss. I DO NOT push hard to bget the hair stubble, it causes taking off skin. Some dead skni is going to come off naturally, but I do not want to shave off live skin. Oh yes - defoliate with a lufa spounge or facecloth before you shave - not everytime - but enough to get that scale off that clogs razor blades.

And MOISTURIZE every night - a FACE moisturizer - never a boduy or hand cream.

BUT the biggie is I am on HRT and it has changed my skin texture. What I do may not work for you.

And finally - I use 'mineral' base make-up - seems to not irritate my skin as much.

Good luck

Lizzy

Hi Christie, i had trouble with those disposable shavers, they just do not seem sharp enough and tend to pull the skin, what i use is Edge Shave Gel, it foams up when you spread it on, i use a Gillette Fusion power shaver, it has 3 blades and uses a AAA battery to make it vibrate, i get a really close shave and my skin is sensitive too.

You are young so i assume you have no gray hairs, laser is not always permanent, i am much older than you and have had 9 laser sessions, it has gotten rid of the dark hairs but the white ones remain so i started electrolysis and have had great success in 14 sessions, you will probably have to go this route too.

I think we should talk about your voice, if you pass well which you must except when you open your mouth you really need to work on that pronto, some get decent voices it seems like overnight while others struggle, i am going to give you some resources so you can start working on your voice right away.

These two Laura has, there is a voice chat every 2 weeks on Friday night and she has helped me greatly. She can get you started with pitch and exercises.

Of course we do.  The few friends I do have are almost exclusively cis or trans women. I think I could have a relationship with a man, but he would be kinda "other" to me.  Could be interesting though. I never have understood guys - even when I was trying to be one.

Our government is huge and could, and probably should, be streamlined. But we are living in 2024, and not the late 18th century.  The founders did provide for updating the Sacred Constitution.  And it has been done on occasion.   There is a lot going on, and I don't want to be a single issue voter.  But I feel that it is being forced on me as a matter of my survival.

How about if we get back on topic?

Many women my age wear their hair super-short, and I don't really have a need to have it long.  Longer in places where I can't grow it, if it is long  No aspirations to be a supermodel here.  The mustache would have to go before the wig comes if I ever did that.  I am threading a narrow path.

Not all evangelicals condemn people for being trans.  Some evangelicals are even trans.   He can pray for you all he wants, that is fine.  I will personally take all the prayer I can get.   It sounds like he has been reading or listening to John McArthur or the SBC.  Not much you can do. Pray for him.

It'll come in waves with hormones. I have noticed that when I apply a fresh patch and the next day comes I feel euphoric and towards the end I feel really bad and dysphoria kicks in. I still feel body dysmorphia of what I have and can't wait till SRS

"entries from “citizens who have changed their gender” will not be considered"   Considering that trans people don't "change their gender" but rather may or may not transition to some extent to affirm their gender, this rule seems superfluous.

They make supplements for hair growth I have been using one for four months and it is now at 6" long when I had nothing before. Although I take more than the pills. I take growth spray, oil, and a supplement that is added to a drink. My hair is very healthy. Unfortunately it's very curly so it'll take longer to grow

That's a toughy to say. But I do know that it's an area for improvement with me. I can get pretty down on myself sometimes. I guess I have to remember that I'm human just like everyone else, not perfect. And that's okay.   Lots of love, Timber Wolf 🐾🪻

Good morning    On this date in 1972 it was a Saturday. I  made a pledge to love and honor my wife and keep her forsaking all others.  I have kept those vows and here we are celebrating our 52nd anniversary still together.  Still caring for each other through sickness and in health.  Still sharing our lives.   Other than that, it’s another day near the beach.  80 and mostly sunny.     I found a ‘17 GMC Acadia yesterday I want to take a look at.  It’s a bit more than I wanted to spend but it’s doable. Only 69k miles on it, with the low mileage I put on cars these days it probably won’t ever hit 100k if I do beget it.  Low mileage now is  likely because it was a leased car at some point. Those usually get pretty good care and not a lot of miles.  It would be similar in size to my Ford, 7 passenger seating but a more basic trim which is fine.  It only has a 4 cyl engine so potentially rather under powered for a relatively large SUV.  The ford has a 4.0liter 6 which is a bit large for cars these days.  Instead of full time all wheel drive, it apparently has 4 modes, 2, 4, sport (what ever that is, I presume it’s over drive turned off) and anti slip.  It’s probably not going to happen but I am keeping my eyes open for a good deal. The old Ford is just that, an old worn out Ford.  Since I bought the Ford I’ve only put about 10k miles on it in 6 years.  My daughter once had an Acadia, top trim package.  When she was driving back and forth to work close to 100 miles per day and going to Philadelphia every week another 500 or more.  For her the miles added up fast.   still keeping my eyes open.  This is about the right age and size but I was hoping to spend about $2000 less.   Other than that I hope to meet with my minister today about paper topics for my class submission.   Other than that Monday is laundry day so I’ll be doing several loads of laundry today.     I put on a neutral gel nail polish last night.  I tried this before, however, I don’t believe I correctly understood the how to get a good result so I was more careful this time.  All I want it’s to give my bpfinger nails enough strength to grow out just a little and stop tearing.   Well, I need to call to make an urology appointment.   @Birdiei was born in Ohio and until Lamda Legal sued them you could not get a sex change on a birth certificate for any reason.  Now you can.  In South Carolina a name change requires $300 and a form filled out and filed with the clerk of courts.  But a gender change requires a birth certificate with the new gender listed.  I am hoping they will permit gender X eventually but right now the state is too Red to do any such thing.   Willow
