Veterans Day

I'd like to say thanks to all the brave men and women who have fought and died in the service of their country. May those fighting today in Iraq and Afganistan come home safely soon.

Ahem to that. I marched in the Veterans Day parade for the second consecutive year. I marched with American Veterans for Equal Rights, an LGBT veterans group. There are a few transgender vets in the group. I was dressed as 'Gennee' and was interviewed by some graduate students. I believe that young people are much more open to crossdressers and LGBT in general. It is one of the highlightsof the year for me in that I am propud of my service and that I believ that I represent the CDs who are closeted.

Ok, question time. Why is it that the government cannot accept the fact that we are people too? At some point in time many of us have laid our lives on the line to protect the same country that shuns us , and ridicules us. The majority of people would get extreme pleasure hanging us up in a tree. But yet , we put us in harms way so that ALL men and women could live without the fear of being overtaken by some foriegn power. What is wrong with this picture? Are we as Trans people not good enough to have the same recognition as someone who is not a Trans person? Can anyone answer these questions honestly? Thank you all for your dedication to our flag and our freedom as it is.

I apologise if I appear mad to you all. It is just that we as dedicated men and women place ourselves in danger to protect a country that wishes we would all volunteer and not return. We get looked down on , ridiculed , spit on , beat down, just because we are somewhat different than some. It makes my heart ache with sorrow that we as Veterans are looked at as unworthy to be classified as the same as someone who is not a Trans person. At the same time , it makes my blood boil and I just want to unleash a dose of violent fury on those who shun us . We as Veterans earned our respect , even though we do not get it . Maybe those who shun us need to go serve time in a war zone, even though some of us have never seen or been in a fire fight. I salute you one and all for the job you each did to keep an unaccepting nation free of tyrany .
