How You Dress Vs. How You Want To Dress

I currently dress in a somewhat gothic and emo-ish way. I actually want to dress WAY gayer than I currently dress. I can't do that now because I won't be able to pass. However, once I've been on testosterone for a while and have had chest surgery, I'm gonna GAY IT THE HECK UP! Fishnet shirts, pink, long hair, sparkles, I'm gonna make Matthew Lush look butch! Still will look gothish, just more of a glam rock uber queer goth than a emoish goth. :) Who here is planning to change their fashion style after full transition?

Wow.

My life has been so pedestrian. And to think I used to be considered dressed gay!

You make me feel so old.

and jealous.

I did wear more dresses after transition, but that was really only a matter of degree. You sound like you are going to be presenting quite a bit differently, and that sounds exciting and cool - an adventure. I wish I was young again...

The teenaged girl in me loves to dress in the tightest, skinniest jeans!! Crop tops, and Daisy Dukes!! I am such a sl*t!!! LOL

I absolutely adore denim skirts, any length!! And really tight form-fitting tissue tee's. I have gotten into some fights with my girlfriends because I looked better than they did in some of their clothes!! lol

I don't plan on changing a thing after full transition. I love my wardrobe and wouldn't give up my black suede hip boots for anything!!

I guess I could call the way I dress now as 'scene' if anything. I have this collection of striped/plaid/ and checkered pants in random colors. I have skate shoes and razored hair and all that. There's not much I would change.

But, after I'm passing, whatever it takes to get there, I'm gonna wear really tight shirts, eyeliner, and grow my hair out. :)

hmm. Right now I wear like shirts that say things..between medium large. I wear jeans, that I guess could be considered tight fit. Vans all day every day. Hoodies when they whether allows.

I would prefer to wear more of the same types of shirts but more inclinded to male stuff. Baggier jeans....I would still wear Vans....and I would love to start wearing fitted hats.

Basically I wanna wear a mix of skater/hip hop clothes.

Before I started my job... I had a 6" mohawk... bondage pants... spiked collars... combat boots...

Since then more of the "pretty boy" look...

I admit I miss my punk look... but as I am on my way to becoming me... I think I will stick with my argyle sweaters, suits & fedoras ^_^

Still got the combat boots going tho ;)

Grandmother buys my clothes. Grandmother picks out my clothes. Grandmother makes me try on my clothes. Grandmother calls me a very handsome little man. And this continues even after I tell them I'm not a man.

I mostly [am forced to] wear New Orleans Saints T-shirts which make people talk to me about football so that sucks. Dark colors attract heat and because we live in a desert, wearing black all the time makes me vomit. My PE teacher the last year I was in PE told Them NOT to make me wear dark colors. Atleast not dark shirts. This was three years ago. They obviously didn't listen. Once would think that They would listen after I threw up in the car.

I want to wear light colors. Mostly red and white. Occasionally dress like my Avatar when I'm feeling different.

The way I dress changes a lot. 0_o"...

One day I'll wear a tight fitting shirt and a skirt.

And the other I'll wear loose fitting anime tees with boys joe boxer shorts.

I wear men's clothes right now (jeans, shirts). I have a thing for suits with vests, ties, etc. But due to physical limitations (girly hips + breasts) I find that the pants and vests don't fit quite right. Pants are normally too long because my hips require me to get pants with a larger than normal for guys which results in longer leg length, vests don't fit because I can't button them all the way down since my hips get in the way. Such a pain. -_-

Oh well. Shouldn't be a problem for much longer, I'm hoping.

I dress in t-shirts and jeans almost all the time. However, I wish I dressed more formally. Vests, suits, nice pants, dress shirts are what I like but unfortunately they don't fit well due to chest and hips....

or cargo shorts. Those are nice (and have pockets!)

Before I started transition I was all like "OMG I'm going to be all dressy like Audrey Hepburn with big fancy dresses and skirts and heels and pantyhose and big sun hats and expensive sunglasses and long silky gloves and big chunky jewelry and it's going to be soooooooooo glamorous ahhh!"

Today I wore jeans, sneakers, and a purple sweater. Yeah...

I think that would be normal lovey . For years you dream of how you want to be but then you become who you really are and all that extra stuff don't matter . Because your heart is full and happy . Keep smiling and enjoy the jeans :)

Hmm usually I just dress in black skinny jeans and a baggy flannel shirt! After transition though...IM GOIN CRAZY! not really XD

I want to get tattoo sleeves, and some piercings, and wear nothing but black torn skinny jeans (i love em, what can I say!) and a butt ton of awesome shirts with neat prints on them. Im gonna cut my hair to be a death hawk and wear big stompy goth boots around! Also those coolio LED goggles would be neat! And lots of fuzzy hats. HATSSSSSSS.

I mostly go as I want to. According to my therapist "You have the right balance between dowdy and flamboyant. You are hard to recognise without scrutiny."

In short she's proffesionally blessed my ability to pass. She's gone as far as saying I remind her of her first TS patient some 25 years ago, the one that got her interested in broadening her practice into gender therapy.

I'm under the impression I have replied to this thread before I need to look that up when I'm not using my phone.

I definitely will dress differently as soon as I pass well enough to pull it off :) Kind of a metrosexual look with scarves, converse, and fitted clothing! Right now I'm just getting my first male hairstyle and learning to bind, so it's a while off.

How I dress now is very casual. Usually just jeans and a t-shirt with a hoodie if it's cold. When i gain more confidence I'm totally going to change it. I just don't know my true style yet.

I suppose the main difference between how I dress as a guy, compared to how I dress as a gal, is the way the clothes are cut. I am very much a jeans and T shirt person, weather dressed as a man or a woman.

I dress how I want to dress. Dressy doesn't work in this line of work (truck driving) so I dress casual, yet nice. Jeans and a tank top work well for me. Add some fancy sunglasses during the day to look fab and some pearl earrings for class and for me it's a great combination.

I fall in the casual style of dress I suppose, Once upon a time I used to do the Goth, style, Metalhead style, but at 35 years old, I dress age appropriate and pretty much whatever I like. I don't really care the "style" category anymore
