Surprised Myself Again

I was at the mall today (in male mode), and remembered a recent post about nail polish. Someone had mentioned clear

polish for men. I had already shopped once before at the Sephora cosmetics salon at Penny's and

found them to be friendly and helpful.

So, feeling bold, I went in and waited my turn while two young cisgen women got helped. When my turn

came I shyly asked about the polish. The sales clerk said they didn't have any, but showed me the clear

women's polish. He showed me what it looked like on his nails. So, without any hesitation (I think it

helped that there were no other customers at the time) I said I would take it!

My S.O. wasn't home when I got there so I went to the vanity to apply some. Ooopps! As soon as I opened

the bottle I realized that you can smell nail polish a block away. So I applied it in the backyard! lol

It looks great and the idea of having it on makes me feel all the more feminine. I LOVE IT!!

Good for you Carolyn

Shopping gets easier the more you do it, At least that is what I'm finding out.

I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing though.

My closet says it is but my bank account tends to disagree.

Anyways I'm glad you like your nail polish, do you plan on getting some colors soon?

Oh my, I would love to. But being in male mode at work pretty much rules that out.

For years my long pretty nails were the only part of my femininity that I dared to show to the world. I'm surprised that only a few people have actually tied it to my transsexuality.

You could apply polish to your toes and no-one else will know it's there. i do that quite often and it always makes me feel so naughty. :D

One word of caution; sometimes you forget it's there so you don't want to get into a situation whereby you take your socks off in front of other people and get caught out. OMG that has nearly happened to me at least twice recently. :o

Polishing my nails, finger AND toe, is at the moment, the ultimate pleasure in my cd moments. (I suppose wearing pierced hoop earrings will surpass that, but, unfortunately ear holes cannot be hidden in the least! in public).

Wearing polish is something I've done, but only when I know I have enough time to completely (and I mean totally!) remove the polish. And that means extra hours because I have found that toenail polish is tricky and involved to completely remove. Similar to what Rachael wrote, there have been one or two times that I have removed my socks in different light than when I had (tried to!) removed the polish and there were tale-tell color left on the edges and up by the cuticle. My heart went through the roof.

So, it's a pleasure that doesn't come very often. But you're absolutely right about the feelings, Carolyn!

I find that as I do a little something 'feminine' each day that I gain a little bit of confidence. At first I thought I was 'easing everyone else' into my transition but i think most people haven't really given it a second thought. It's the people that give you the long looks that take getting used to. I'm noticing too, that if I wear something femme (ie boatneck sweater) and the rest of the clothes are total male I get odd looks. But if I have a femme/andro 'look' going - earrings, yellow shirt under the sweater, necklace, bracelets, that people don't seem as uncomfortable. It's almost a subconscious reaction that I can feel when someone sees me in a mixing the genders in a peculiar way.

I don't wear a bra to bed.  The girls aren't big enough to need it, but still enough to appreciate.  Just a flannel nightgown suits me fine.

You're welcome. I'm here quite often if you need me.

Yeah, that is the point.  And of course they can be proud of themselves for saving humanity.   Yeah.  That would be scary.  I'd find a bush somewhere like our GOP governor candidate recommends.  So far I've gotten away with the women's.  I've been told I pass better than I realize.  But it would only take one a55h0le.   This is all so stupid.  I mean, who gets off on hanging out in a bathroom?
    • Ashley0616
Oh yes. It was not fun cleaning it up but he is better.

As I read this one, it is only for school bathrooms.  I hope he has signed a bill to triple the number of "security monitors" on the campuses and up their pay considerably, not to mention some other costly stuff.  Only way is for every school employee, to know the birth certificate information of each student by memory which will require 3 additional months of salary for them all.  It appears the enforcement relies on parental reports obtained from their children which opens so much up.  The kids will end up ALL with wet or soiled underwear while the parents go at each other with weapons over "family honor" over false calls based on childish name calling.

I agree. This law is impractical and impossible to evenly enforce without such ridiculous measures in place. What it will do is stigmatize the trans community in Oklahoma and nothing more but ofc, that’s the only point of it.   If I was in that state and needed a restroom, there’s no chance I’d ever step foot in the men’s restroom because of some law. I know I’m not alone in that thinking. This law won’t stand the test of time.

I asked AI to create an image of myself 30 years younger based off my avatar on another site and this was the result:     Wow! I am amazed how close it got my 30 year old face!

Quite true.  The amusing thing about opposites is how similar they can be.   My family left Greece because of the conflict between the communists and the militarists/fascists.
