Questions About Mtf Surgery

Guest ricka

Recommended Posts

I've searched the threads on this subject but don't find my questions answered exactly, so I put this to you women who have had vagina reconstructive surgery and are or have been sexually active with a male partner. 1) are you able to enjoy intercourse as a woman now and have orgasms and 2) does your male partner experience and enjoy intercourse the same as he would with a natural vagina?

I am hard-wired sexually and emotionally as a woman to want to be able to satisfy a man and the latter question is one I have were I to consider having the surgery.

YES! (To all the above.)

After 35 years and discussions with a few very close female friends, I would have to say that I am more sensitive and more orgasmic than most GGs.

okay my next question: I have a small penis. If vaginal reconstruction involved inverting my penis to form a vagina wouldn't my vagina be quite small then and unable to accomodate a well endowed male. Shows you how much I know!

It seems to me that a post op transwomans vagina would actually be better to a guy than a GGs. I would imagine it would be tighter and thus probably feel better as long as it were not to tight. Hopefully I will have my own by December of next year. :) I totally can't wait.

I am so jealous of you right now. I want mine now.

Actually a "constructed vagina" lacks the elasticity of a natural vagina so you are at a DISadvantage compared to a GG.

My sticky-out bit was TINY (like 2" - don't ask!) and I got 5" depth after surgery (down to 4" with old age and inactivity) - I was AMAZED!

Oh well... shows what I know. :) Guess it doesn't matter much to me since it's highly doubtful I will ever be with a guy. (not ruled out for lack of interest or anything but I'm in a committed relationship with another woman)

With what I got now, I'd be happy with 4 or 5 inches of depth.

I've been told the first few months post surgery you feel really weird down there... almost like the old parts are still there. Is that true?

Some surgeons will extend the vagina using skin grafts from other locations. I'm not entirely sure where the most common place to source your skin from is, but it is certainly an option if you are looking to get some extra depth.

I've also heard that up to 30% of post-op women report being non-orgasmic, though I know that definitely depends on the skill and technique of the surgeon.

Hope this helps!

It wasn't for me. As soon as I had feeling again (a day or two) it was the first time I ever felt "right".

It is a little strange as your brain re-maps your body and you feel things in different places but for me it was all good. I was sexually active in 2 months and having a HECK of a good time!

I can't wait for that feeling. :) Counting the days. I just want to go to sleep and wake up and it be next December. :) I'm afraid that next year is going to go by so slow for me. ARGGG!!!! I'm an impatient person. lol

I'm impatient too...if it were me, i'd want them to knock me out for the year so I didn't have to sit there waiting for the year creep by at a snails pace  ! In all seriousness though, the wait will be worth it in the end...how wonderful it must be to know that soon your body will be correct. I'm so jealous <_< ! (and happy for you).

Nah forget losing out on yet another year. As much as I want srs (and thats a lot) i don't want to miss out on anymore of my life. Besides maybe I can manage to bribe the doctor to get the surgery sooner or something, ;)

Well don't wish away a year of your life! There is a GREAT DEAL of living you can do in the mean time. I spend part of my teens en femme (whenever I could get away from home and my tyrant mother) and those years were invaluable to me later on - they made transition a snap! There's LOTS of "girl stuff" to learn if you haven't been exposed to it so go out there and get exposed! :o

To answer the original questions to the best of my ability from my research:

1) Yes, usually but they are working with moving skin that has a lot of nerve endings in it and some will be lost - the male organ has about half as many as the female to begin with.

2) According to most, their male partners have a wonderful experience, the narrower bone structure makes the neo-vagina tighter than the natal ones so it is a more intense activity for the male.

I only have this information from sisters who have been willing to share.

Love ya,

Sally

ricka,

It really depends upon the surgeon and his/her method. If the penile-inversion method is used, a skin graft would be used to supplement a lack of tissue. In my case, I went to New Zealand where a group of surgeons use a method called ascending colon method. Look at E. Peter Walker's website and it will explain it all to you. I have depth of around 8 1/2 inches and it has never shrunk in depth.

A colon will give natural lubrication that won't stop. It is so much more invasive that personally I wouldn't go that route. To each their own.

Penile skin is not the all that is used in the neo-vagina using the common inversion technique. Many routinely use scrotal skil to extend the depth as not much of it is really need for the labia. Beyond that they can graft from certain parts of the body. It is best to discss options with your prospective surgeon and then ask others that you know who went to that surgeon what their expereince is.

I've also heard that up to 30% of post-op women report being non-orgasmic, though I know that definitely depends on the skill and technique of the surgeon.

This in part depends on context. Being orgasmic under self stimulation is very different than during itnercourse. Orgasmic rates in the basic sense I have heard numbers quoted from 70% to 90%, but that is total who are able to achieve orgasm. When one looks at the ability during intercourse, which is much more difficult, the rates who achieve orgasm are much lower. There are no good statistics, but the good news is that it probably not a whole lot different than natal females which is as it should be.

From the Sexual dysfunction topic I quote something from Evan J I found very informative and an apt description:

VEEEERY few natal women experience an orgasm from intercourse. It may be "pleasant " because they enjoy the sensation of feeling pressure against their insides but that is the pleasure -pressure not pleasure in an orgasmic sense . Just mentally sensing pressure.

Pressure to the skenes gland (the sensation associated with needing to pee) heightens a buildup towards orgasm but usually is not the orgasm itself. So natal woman seek that "need to pee" feeling cuz its their best bet of having one too.

The majority have "better" orgasms alone or through masterbation. Since typically they get partnered with natal males, (heterosexuality being more prevalent than lesbianism) they usually have a partner who "just can't believe" that masterbation is more satisfying than intercourse since intercourse itself stimulates very few of the female physical orgasmic triggers.

The bulk of the triggers lead to the clitoris but because of the severely lower surface area of it , what then is given off is minimized automatically due to the difference in size when looking for a similar understanding of "what is an orgasm" when previously its been experienced via penis.

When tguys go on T, because the surface area of the organ is expanded, their personal understandings of "what is an orgasm" for a lot of them goes through a DRASTIC rewrite. How frequently it can be achieved is altered. The severity of the experience is altered as well. And the methods. Transguys by their nature are not likely to wish to discuss it and so you as mtfs lack the comparison and maybe therefore an opportunity to put your experience in a context.

The full topic including all Evan's comments can be viewed at:

http://www.lauras-playground.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21729&pid=223438&st=0entry223438

Note this above topic discusses some of the typical challenges and some ways to overcome them. It should not be viewed negativly and some information there could prove helpful.

Expect after SRS to have a similar DRASTIC rewrite as Evan described but in the reverse.

Intercourse can certainly be enjoyable just as any natal female finds it.

As far as partners, keep in mind however that men are sensitive to more than just the physical no matter how many say they are focused solely on the physical. So even if everyting is okay physically, their enjoyment will in part have something to do with you.

I did hear a SO of MTF once comment how MTF were different than natale females. As stated earlier he described them as "tighter".

I am not nor plan to to be sexually active with a male, but I can tell you I am fully, and multiply orgasmic. Vaginally so far anyway, my clit hasn't fully recovered enough, but I do sense it and can tell once the full feeling comes back It will most likely work too. I don't see any reason a man would not be perfectly pleased (hell a knothole in a tree at the right hight would please a lot of guys I know.) One thing I learned after surgery that I didn't know was that, at least I can speak for Dr. Bowers, is that the vagina is lined with squamous epithelium, the same substance that lines natal vaginas. So it's literally exactly the same. You probably won't be able to produce the same amount of lubrication, so have a tube handy at all times. You also develop your body's very own bacteria inside your vagina, which sounds gross but it's actually the good kind that make it self-cleaning, just like a natal vagina!

I've heard of this being done.  It seems like a good idea, I mean the gas is already there.  I don't see why it couldn't be done on a larger scale.  The technology already exists.  I expect the problem would be coordinating it all, and who does that.  We're all so determined to protect our own turf, myself included.

Good morning   my body and my mind kept waking me up saying hey aren’t you supposed to be getting up now since about 4am. I finally got up at 8:20 to get ready for my 10am shift.  I guess your wake up system gets into a habit and doesn’t like change.off tomorrow, then work Memorial day.    We got rain and a bit of thunder last night. Nothing too bad, unlike the poor people in the Midwest. They are really getting hammered with tornadoes this spring.  I suppose we’ll get ours later on.  It’s supposed to be a bad hurricane season and we haven’t had a really bad one in quite a few years.  The worst I’ve seen was a Cat 3 when the eye went right over us.     I stayed and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be but a 5? Now that’s another story.  I really don’t know how these condos will hold up to a bad hurricane.  Yes there is bracing throughout but how well was any of it installed?  Only the tradesmen plumbing electricians finish craftsmen spoke English the rest were all Hispanic and different emigrants worked together on different parts of the buildings.  One group did the framing and sheathing another different crew the roof, another the windows and so on.  Each building is 4 stories 18 units.  On the bottom we have four units with double walls but the top two are 5 each and no double walls.    @Mirrabooka I didn’t see many Reds, Roos or grasshoppers when I was in Australia.  I was mostly in Tasmania where they are mostly Wallabies.  My wife got to hold a young Tazzy Devil and a Koala Bear and I’ve held a wombat.  An emu got the best of my wife stealing all the food she had.   time to get ready for my day   Willow

As we know online rules are usually created by a team of people, basically the guideline rules are to keep everything running smoothly, and everyone is treated equally, and most importantly the code of conduct to make sure no rules are broken. My concern is, what happens when the online community rules (in general speaking) can have an impact on the freedom of speech? Perhaps it might had been artificial intelligence, that took down a post I made on the internet, somewhere else. I know I haven't broken any rules, I was sharing a true story experience I had about online safety, so it doesn't happen to anyone else.. then the post was taken down. I felt to frustrate the time and energy I've spent typing out my experience what happened to me, and then poof it was gone  lol  What can I do about this? lol

@Heather Shay you keep opening these cans of worms!!! 😄   I'm not a musician; I've barely strummed a guitar ever, but I LOVE music.    As far as influential voices go, I invite you to consider these homegrown guys, who continue to give me earworms. I hope that you listen to and can appreciate them:   Jimmy Barnes   Daryl Braithwaite   Very best: John Farnham

I've listened to this song an excessive amount of times.  I always play this when I power up a new music studio which is basically what I have going on today.

I tend to think of most energy politics from the demand side.  It's boring to think of just the "usefulness" of food, clothing and shelter, but outside of things like this that are so basic, we are very wasteful in the pursuit of things that are not necessary.   I tend to go through phases in life every few years where I just become meditative.  You know, it's a fine thing trying to capture this methane in the landfill, but the NET gain from it must be pretty small.  There must be a massive amount of propane that is just burned in the refining of oil.  At least that is what I understand from what I've read and processed from information on the internet.  I've been thinking about how gas tanks in cars have become pressurized over the last few decades.  It probably has something to do with ethanol, right?  I had this crazy idea last year that ethanol might be made from corn cobs.  They have to do something with them.   The problem with addressing things on the demand side is the old "buy American" failure of sorts.  I think the truth is more complicated than simply calling it a failure.  The idea of a world factory with parts produced in a central location making manufacturing more practical seems reasonable.  Reducing demand for energy is a fine idea, but is there some similar logistical problem with it?  My feeling is that it would probably work with some coordination.  We did survive without all this industrialization before.  I think the most exciting part is using mountain bikes instead of horses.  @awkward-yet-sweetand I got into a thread that exposed that idea.  Oh my, I'm laughing again.  It's such a cool idea!!  Bikes are wonderful as long as they are stored indoors.

Thanks, @Davie. I signed up. I've been a Miami Heat fan for years which already makes me love D & all the Wade family. But beyond athleticism, they are such good and inspiring people doing good and having a positive effect on culture. Bless them and their ventures.   Here's Zaya's instagram account if you want to see some of her gorgeous modeling. You do not need an instagram account to view. https://www.instagram.com/zayawade/

Featured on a local TV station lately is an ad for The Animals, touring for the last time apparently, who are appearing locally! This band was huge back in the day. I don't possess any of their music, but it is very familiar to me. To me, they are a cross between the Stones and the Doors.

Getting back into a normal groove here in my new reality.  Got up at about 3:20am.  Had a cup of coldish coffee leftover from last night.  Posted the rest of my bike parts that I need to pass on.  Did some of my daily writing.  Checked in with my best friend.   I'm moving, so I've been working hard on getting everything out of my house and cleaning up.  Things are progressing quickly and I have this idea of having an extended meditation session in my empty house for a month or two.  I'm not sure if I can slow down that much mentally, but I'll give it a try!

❤️   I'm a 2-minute walk from the edge of my town. From there I can stare at paddocks infested with 'grasshoppers' (kangaroos to you!)   But yes, being close to nature is its own reward. 🙂
