Hi all, Im really new here but just wanted to share with everyone because its really exciting. I just got my chest, abs, shoulders, back, underarms and hands lasered for the first time. OMG in certain areas it hurts so bad, for me it was my side that hurt the most, (I'm so sensitive there) but in some areas it doesnt hurt at all, can hardly even feel it. Im a really hairy person too so this is going to be so awesome. I didnt do my face for now I'm just going to stick to shaving and makeup for that. I still have a little apprehension going there for some reason. Peace and love to you all, bye :).

You where apprehensive about going to the clinic doing your hair removal even after your first visit? I was nervous going in for my consultation but the people there where so nice that on my first visit I was totally at ease.

If you plan on getting HRT down the road you may not need to do a total body hair removal. SOme of those hairs are controlled by hormones. I think they will go away on their own.

If I'm completely wrong tell me now, because I'll need to get some more unwanted hair removed myself.

Congrats!

I've been seeing an electro for few weeks and I'm going for laser on 10/1.

The electro has been great! - the sides of my face (which weren't very hairy to begin with) are almost smooth - now for the hard part - under the chin and upper lip.

It's a wonderful feeling - and one of your (and my) big first steps!

This was my first time going, I did my consultation and first treatment today. Well about the HRT from what Ive heard it depends on genetics, everyone reacts to them differently. I'm not ready for HRT yet though, I'm still trying to figure it all out as I go. If I do start HRT it would probably be after I get my face lasered and electroed, I figure that permanent facial hair removal is the safer route for someone who is still unsure. Next thing I gotta do is book an appointment with a therapist...

Thats awesome, I want to do my face so bad, I might start getting it done in a couple months depending on a few things though.. I have a bad feeling that it will take forever though, I have a super full beard that wont go away without a fight im sure, and then theres the electrolysis afterwards eeek that scares me.

Ohhh ha now I see what you mean. I meant that I am apprehensive about getting my face done not about going in for the laser work :)

Ohhhhhhhhh, thats completely different. Don't remove your facial hair until you are sure. :D

Actually a laser session is about 45 minutes and you have one session ever 6 to 8 weeks for about 6 months. if you have dark hairs laser will be very effective in removing nearly all your hairs. Electrolysis would be basically just touchup work to remove the last stray hairs that grow back too fine to be detected by the laser anymore. Most probably that will be on your upper lip.

That is really good news for me, I have black hair and light colored skin which makes laser treatment very effective for me. I have heard though that facial hairs are harder to remove for some reason, does that statement hold any weight with anyone here? I don't see why facial hair would be different other than myabe because it is alot more dense than other areas of the body..

:huh: It's no harder then removing any other hair on the body, but how long it takes depends on how much you have. Laser would by far be quicker then electrolysis though. But it is fricking expensive! My 5 session package was $1630 for the facial hair. They did let me break it down into two payments, thank God. They bill $114 per hour for electrolysis so it's cheaper up front but you would need so many sessions it works out to be about the same if not more then laser in the long run. These prices are for northern Virginia a few miles away from DC. If you live in a less expensive area your prices may be lower

Paula, keep in mind the Northern Virginia area is super super expensive, especially when it's right on the border of DC.

      Good afternoon everyone,   I often wondered why @April Marie and @Willowgot up so early in spite of being retired. Now that I have my own puppy as a house pet I get it. We haven't had dogs since before my oldest granddaughter was born 22 years ago this September. I've always had working hunting dogs, and it was important they became acclimated to the current weather conditions. While the kennels had large outdoor runways, they also had pet passes into the somewhat temperature controlled garage. Yes, they were allowed in the house but only for short periods of time. Fast forward to present time, and I'm potty training a puppy as well as crate training. The first night Parker Von Schwinegruber, slept from 10:30 until 05:30. Last night we went to bed and 10:30 and he started making noise at 05:00. Since I don't want to test his ability to hold his business, we got up and went outside. He took care of business and we went back to sleep. This time he had a dental chew bar and I filled his water bowl. We cat napped until 08:00 and then got up for the day taking him immediately outside. He took care of business, and we played fetch and tug of war with his now favorite puffball. We came in and I put him back in the crate positioned so he could see me cook breakfast. Did he NO HE WENT TO SLEEP! We ate breakfast, did the dishes, and finished off the pot of coffee I brewed at 08:00. Once he woke up we stared at one another for about 20 minutes, because he seemed content to be in the crate. I got up and we worked on some obedience training as well as getting into and out of the crate with permission. We don't want him to crash the gate or any doors we will be going through.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

      I have not heard about it here in California, but then again we have events of various sorts going on very often, and not just in the June Pride Month.  We have Trans Fashion Week going on at a hotel complex over in West Los Angeles for the next three nights featuring shows by Trans fashion designers and modeled by Trans and NB people on the runways there.  I missed a chance for some free tickets and while I know and love many of the participants I do not want to pay for the tickets which will be in the $50 to $75 range, and which at those prices are nearly sold out.  (Not to mention $25 valet parking each night at the venue complex.).  There will be actual high end fashion buyers there though and it is an area where we are gaining some good footing.  I also admit that NONE of the fashions are going to be anything at all that would fit my basic personal style but look fine if not crazy on my much younger Trans siblings who will model them. (Ok everyone else keep on @Mirrabooka's topic.)

      Accidents happen.  So do heat-of-the-moment murders, without premeditation or trans-related hate.  It will take a trial to really figure it out.     One thing we can see from this is that it is people in our circles of acquaintances, friends, and partners who are the ones who usually hurt us.  Not someone random. We have to be careful who we trust.

      Friday May 17th is IDAHOBIT (International Day Against HOmophobia, BIphobia and Transphobia).   Do you acknowledge or celebrate it? Do you do anything special for it, like taking part in any organized events or activities?   I'm not an activist and I prefer to fly under the radar, but I am slowly becoming aware of important dates. I have been aware of the date of IDAHOBIT for a few weeks now, but other important 'rainbow' dates have not been etched into my brain yet.    I will wear my favorite pride t-shirt as a token acknowledgement of the day, but it probably won't be seen; cool weather here will mean that it will be hidden under a sweater.
