Hi, I'm Ren.

Umm....

Well, that's not my birth name, but it's a nickname that my friends call me quite often, and I like it. I'm from rainy old England (actually, the weather is being oddly varied at the mo-to the point that I need to take umbrella, hoody, sunhat and scarf to school...). I'm biologically female, although, I think I'm an androgyne. Think. It's taken me a while of thinking...

Umm, I don't have much else to say, I don't think, but you'll probably see me appearing on the forums going 'ahhhh!' at some point or another =] I'm likely to post again later about other stuff, but I should really be off to sleep now. It's half one in the morning for me *has no idea how timestamps on forums work* =]

Renn, welcome to Laura's! Have a seat in the New Member's Lounge and I'll fetch a plate of Sally's famous

cookies and some nice hot cocoa. There, that's better!!

Now that you're comfy, have a look around the forums and if you feel like exercising those fingers,

check out the chat rooms. They're fast and fun and usually full on the weekends.

I know you're going to love this site. We have thousands of members who are here to find answers just

like you, and are looking for friends and support. Our site is moderated, meaning folks like me keep the

site safe for everyone, safe meaning PG 13. So sometimes you might notice a small delay in seeing

your post up.

Make yourself at home, and when you feel like it, tell us more about yourself. Glad to have you!

Well Welcome Renn!!

Come right in and relax. You are with friends now so don't worry, you can be yourself and ask questions. Joining Laura's is a significant step. You now can talk to people who truely understand what you are going through.

More of your brothers and sisters will be along soon.

Love

Brenda

Hi Ren,

When you read this I'll be asleep - I hope!

The time stamp on your end is in your time zone and on our end it is in ours so to me it looked like you were posting at 7:30 in the evening.

So we will wave as we pass each other and leave notes, OK?

Welcome to the family.

Love ya,

Sally

Renn,

Welcome to the family. I have been here for about a month and I have made many friends and I am sure you will too. I am in the same boat with you except I am the wrong sex and I have no sex drive. We can travel alone together and when you get a chance can you send me some Clipper teas.

Sally should have probably offered you tea instead of coco but, She is very impulsive that one is.

Peace & Love Amanda

PS. the more you past the more you can do here. So talk to us ask questions and vent..

Hi Renn

I'm from that cold, wet part of the world just North of you called Scotland.

I haven't been on here that long, but the folks who have responded to my posts have been great. There's always someone with a friendly ear, some good advice and a word or two of encouragement.

If you have anything you want to say, or ask, just do it. Someone's bound to help. :)

Heheh, thanks =] It's funny thinking of time zones-for me, it's bright and sunny just after midday-ness, and the thought that it could be dark out is kinda cool/weird at the same time =]

Oooh, cookies, they sound good...

Thanks for your comments, everyone =] I feel really welcome here, which is a great feeling =]

*is off to brew a cup of tea now* (oddly enough, it is Clipper's O_O) =]

Hey Ren,

Is that Clipper's Tea good?

With 37 different varieties on hand I just looked and I don't have any Clipper's! :o

You should explore the forums a bit - there is even a topic about who likes tea. :D

We talk about just about anything.

Yeah, it's my favourite type XD That said, I do like some of the more obscure Twinning's flavours more from time to time =]

Heh, our cupboard is always so full of boxes of tea that whenever I open it to find the marmite/biscuits, I automatically lift my arm to catch the 'spiced apple and cammomile' that always falls out XD You're missing out on the Clipper's! =]

Wow, I'll definitely search out that tea-liking topic!

It's good to hear some positive notes through all the negativity about at the moment. I am not religious but do see a lot of positivity in many things they do, outside of the normal media attention.   Tracy

From what I understand, my GF's early life was influenced by supremacism.  She sniffed around the edges of a couple of groups, and ended up for a while as part of an armed communist organization.  Mostly, just looking for a place to belong, and something to struggle for (and against).  She's told me about some of it, no doubt just the heavily edited Cliff Notes version.  But she did say that hatred takes effort.  It isn't something you're born with, its something you learn or that develops, often through suffering.    I think perhaps it is easier for children of supremacists to leave and do something different than it is for people who come to it through their own experiences.  When they are shown kindness by folks who are different from them, it begins to crack the wall.

I've come to the understanding that most Angry and Intolerant people are that way because they haven't discovered their True Self.  So they lash out at others instead of seeking internal discovery ... whatever that is.  So for me ... it is not a Surprise but a welcome Celebration of the individuals Humanity.

Bravo! @Vidanjali!   Their objective is to steer 'the Youth' in a different (and more conservative/intolerant) direction, but they don't realize they will actually push them away and lose them in the long run.

Me too @EasyE.  But we are ALL on our own unique Journey.  That's what makes it both Difficult and WONDERFUL. Your Journey is SPECIAL - Only you can experience it and appreciate it.  Speed On, Dear EasyE!!

@awkward-yet-sweet, bummer about the road trip that isn't. Next time!   @KymmieL, good luck with the job hunting, you deserve it.   @Birdie, I'm happy for you that you have a new connection who seems so supportive!   @Ivy, enjoy!   The issue I referred to in my little grizzle the other day looks like it will resolve itself without conflict. Everything is good. 🙂

One of the reasons that I hesitated to sign up to this forum originally was because I couldn't think of a femme name for myself. That stems from the fact that I wasn't seeking one, and still don't, although lately I have become a bit curious.   My username has geographical and astronomical connections. It is an indigenous word that describes the Southern Cross constellation.

Again, thank you for these posts @Sally Stone. As a person just embarking on their own exploration, seeing through an eagle’s eye is invaluable. I can understand the desire to compartmentalize. I’m coming out at 47 and have several military affiliated friends. I never served myself but know them via hobbies we share. I’d be nervous about coming out to those whom I didn’t know very well, but some I do know better are openly ‘queer’. Meeting these people definitely challenged my existing stereotypes about the military in a positive way; more regarding those who comprise the services as opposed to stated protocol/mission.
