Laser Treatment And Gray Hair

I’ve had 6 sessions on my face up to today. I have dark hair and light skin so the clearing is going pretty well, but there is still alot of gray left. They told me when I started laser to shave closely before I come to help minimize the pain. That they had good result with the laser they were using on me with gray hair and would increase the power level as my face cleared, and since my gray wasn’t snow white, the laser would probably get most of it. Sooo…

I went for my session today with 24 hours growth instead of shaving extremely close just before I went. The pain was about the same with no unusual redness or swelling. Fingers crossed, the longer gray hair was able to pick up more of the laser energy to help kill the hair follicles. I will post back to let everyone know how it goes but was curious what other’s experience has been with laser and gray hair.

I am 56 and had a fair amount of gray or graying hair, i have had 9 laser sessions which got rid of just about all the dark hairs but left the white hairs, in July i started electrolysis to remove the white ones the laser did not touch. I have 2 more laser sessions before the end of the year and i will continue to do electrolysis until i feel i do not need it anymore, in 25 electrolysis sessions of 30 or 60 minutes my face has had it's first clearing and my neck is almost done then it will get any hairs that come back until i am satisfied.

Thank you for sharing your experience, Paula. Do you have any experience with varying the length of the hair prior to a laser session and how that affects the rate of clearing?

Thank you for posting this! I have also wondered if it would be possible to use Just for Men Mustache Beard Sideburn Color with a few days growth prior to laser treatment?

And the clearing from the treatment with 24 hour's growth, was amazing! Since the pain was about the same with no unusual redness or swelling, I plan to go to continue to do this from now on.

Hi Blossom,

I booked 6 laser sessions and have 2 to go , month apart. prior to first I had grey and dark brown 70/30 mostly grey, most of the dark hair is gone

but I have been told there will be regrowth . I have read as much info as I can get my hands on Blossom and general consensus is needle electrolysis is

the only PERMANENT solution. Laser wont touch the gray , anyone telling you it will is just after your money. Laser on the top lip ......oh the freakin pain. Viv.

Think Im in the same boat as you Paula, 2 sessions of laser left for me and then its electrolysis for I imagine all of next year. one and a half hours a week

I hope will get rid of those pesky spikes. Just thought of something else .....the woman doing my laser told me its good re our complexion as well
