Pyschiatrists Appointment

I have my psychiatrists appointment Tuesday coming it is for a diagnosis and a referral to the gender identity clinic. I'm worried because psychiatrists are meant to be bullies luckily my mom and counselor will be there so he wont bully me so much.

Hey less than 24 hours until my appointment I'm getting really really nervous but at least I can speak with my counselor she along with my mom is the only thing keeping me alive at the moment but I'm sure I will have plenty to look forward to in the future. The new place is OK but I really miss family theres some marriage trouble between my mom and dad right now, My dad loves the F1 so my mom got them tickets to see the F1 in Spain and my dad said he doesn't want to go because she never asked him when it was a surprise and he said he wants to sort me out first? I suppose he wants me to go to college again education and work is always more important than health and happiness in our family *sigh*. They had many marriage problems before but my mom has threatened to leave my dad and I don't want that to happen because I know they love each other and I'd rather disappear of the face of the earth than have them split up.

I know it's sad that your parents are having problems but it's up to them to solve it themselves and you being who you are is NOT the cause of their problems....In their own way both your parents love you dearly and both want what's best for you...However it would be best if you got YOURSELF sorted out with the psychiatrist first...And wanting to disapear off the the end of the earth...could be the straw that breaks the camel's back-both parents no doubt would 'blame' themselves or each other...I'm sure you wouldn't want that to happen...THINGS WILL WORK OUT ! Just give it time and TIME is what you've got plenty of...

Thanks Princecharmless I just come back from my appointment he wants me to conquer most of my depression before being referred to the gender clinic so he has prescribed me some anti depressants just to help I then have an appointment with him again in February to see if my state is better and if it is then I get a referall. It sounds logical and have no disagreements with him except the fact he said I should have all my female stuff taken away for a bit (yh right) lol.

Remember it's not the clothes that make you female...you are what you are no matter what you wear...As for the anti depressants...It's important that you take them but see your doctor if they make you feel uncomfortable... Around this time of year, xmas pressure builds up and winter's cold wet damp weather and dark days can add to the feelings of depression especially in Europe and areas of North America where they experience really cold winters...During these cold dark winter months you should get some bright big posters of sunshine beaches etc, or ones of mountains with plenty of crispy white snow [a travel agent might have some one disued ones] and stick them up on your lounge-bedroom walls somewhere where you see them often ...'EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS' KL, February will be here before you know it!

TY for all your help Jendar I'll try and keep my mood up and I'm sure confidence will follow very soon. I hope the anti depressants will make a difference I didn't really give them the chance before. My cousin has been asking after me I think I will surprise her next time I go over my nans haven't seen them for over 2months I'm looking forward to Christmas this year word has it I might be getting a really expensive dress can't wait.
