Hello From A Reintroduction

Wow, is it really October?

It feels like June was last month.

Regardless, I wanted to reintroduce myself. I haven't been here often, and not actively. Given how long ago it seems that I was here, I figured that this might be appropriate, I guess; forgive me if I'm mistaken. It's always awkward going somewhere, disappearing, and then coming back in a blink when you've had time, and I figured fresh starts are as good as any.

For those who don't know / don't remember, I'm Michael, Mike, Mikey, Mick, or whatever strikes fancy in abbreviation notations, although I prefer Michael in full. I'm an FTM - as the little side profile notes. I'm midway through my sophomore year of college, in a Media Arts and Animation program (tough stuff). A lot's happened in relation of June - October. For one, I turned nineteen, and I just noticed the happy birthday wishes on my profile; thank you in the belated sense! It was an extremely happy birthday. Ah-ha. After a nice, long vacation in Toronto (ironically during Pride Week!), I made my way back to Nevada and came out on campus 100%. Best decision of my life for anyone who remembers my hapless woe of ... Four months ago? Huge spike in grade improvement, and a lot more exciting things that don't need to clog an introduction.

I'm hoping to keep myself glued here this time around. My sentiments are the same; this is a wonderful forum and I'm grateful it's here.

Welcome back, Michael!

I do remember you and I am glad that you have made such wonderful progress - Congratulations!

As to whether you should have posted this here in the introductions forum, let me answer that by bringing you some fresh baked cinnamon rolls, :)

See you did it right and you got rewarded!

So good to see you and I know that a lot of the others will be glad to see you back again.

Love ya,

Sally

Aw, thanks for all of the replies - I really appreciate it! And all sweets are delicious and well loved! I was just nervous that I might be out of step posting another introduction here, so I'm happy to hear I wasn't mistaken. It's a pleasure to see lots of people have joined while I've been gone too, and I'll be sure to share some of my art one of these days! I'm hoping to have some nice animations by next year, so there will be a lot to share for certain.

I wouldn't say accomplishments so much as news and good timing. :] Such as around the same time I came out on campus, the school counselor signed up for an external program that brought the school a network of licensed therapists who we all get four free sessions from. I haven't yet figured out if that's four per quarter or four over-all, but, regardless, it was big news in the realm of accessible therapy for me when I've been aching to go for such a long time. I'm just in a pickle of transportation, but that seems to be shaping out well too, as I may have found a job where a friend works, and a doubly awesome job where I can be out and work at the same time without issues or a lot of paranoid fear, as the manager has evidently heard all about me in the last week. Hopes for that to go well, but it looks good.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

USA doctors denounce Cass Report, support trans folks.  The Endocrine Society And American Academy Of Pediatrics Respond To Cass, Reject Bans. I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.

Second warning, this has gotten far and apart from the NEWS item that it started out with and is becoming a flat out battleground over political leanings and terminology.

Welcome to Lefty Land.... a festive theme park full of sparkles and unicorns, a perfect place except for one evil orange dragon wearing a blond wig.    I'm always amazed at the "flexibility" of definitions.  One person's f@scist seems like a centrist to others.  One person's "moderate" looks to others like the 2nd coming of Fidel Castro.  A normal marriage a century or two ago is now a criminal offense, and relationships that used to be a criminal offense are now open, normal marriages.  Pedophiles now want to be called "minor attracted persons" and teenagers are now defined as children.  A Republican in NY or CA would be a Democrat just about anywhere else.  I'm certainly no advocate for relativism, these are just observations.    What I find interesting about this Australian candidate is the attitude that he shouldn't be allowed to run for office.  Why?  Just because his views are different, or even offensive?  Who makes that determination?  Can an election really be open and fair if it is barred to candidates who are not "politically correct?"  Here in the USA, we can openly have candidates who are f@scist or any other thing they want to be, no real restrictions aside from eligibility requirements related to age, location, citizenship, and criminal record.
