So its the first time I went on a similar forums I was getting curious about myself because i do know i don't fit the normal gender types, I dont like to be all hairy and stuff and getting called a buff guy i wouldn't like that, I decided to try the COGIATI test and the first results i got were 95 type three Androgyne, afterward i tried it again while thinking a bit mroe about the answers and i got 180 type 4 probable transsexual. I do know that whenever i look at myself in the mirror i dont automatically think hey its me it seems like a stranger to me. I do prefer to be refered to has a female especially in online games i have some fun with that letting people address me has a girl and not correcting them. I was wondering if anyone could help me sort a few things out, im forced to repress anything since my parents are pretty strict manner wise and would probably freak out so would my few friends probably :( i don't have many to begin with its very hard for me. thanks for reading.

Hi, Random,

I moved this topic over here to the Introductions Forum so more of our members will see it and drop by.

Would you like to come into our member's lounge and get comfy?

I have some warm Cinnamon Rolls this morning if you would like one or two.

We all struggle with exactly who we are and where we are going so do not feel alone.

That test is just a guide so coming here was a good first step.

However, we are not trained therapist, just friendly and compassionate people so we always suggest that before you embark on any life altering changes that you should find a therapist who specializes in Gender Identity Disorder.

There are so many stops along the gender spectrum, you will need a guide to find your place.

Welcome to the family.

Love ya,

Sally

It is a wonderful place.

Hi random and welcome to Laura's.

I understand the fear you have of rejection from loved ones once they know your secret. We all have dealt with it before and many of us still do.

Take time to get relaxed here, meet some really great people here and when you are ready, you can talk to us to help you through this anxious period.

Warm hugs,

Leigh

thanks everyone for replying sorry i did not reply faster i couldn't find my thread anymore and i was a bit confused again :/ well i don't think i will ever tell my parents at least seeing the reactions i get for a refusal of just doing basic chores or homework i cant imagine what they would do if i popped this confusion to them :/ they are not the super supportive and accepting type plus i don't get along well with my father he has a short temper which i manage to get on very easily and then he called me trash today first time he did but I'm numb to insults (yay school -.-) but once again thanks for all the wonderful support i was a bit nervous posting for the first time i did not know what to say but i am starting to feel a bit less nervous talking now :)

Hey Random

Welcome to Laura's. Please don't be nervous, your among friends here. ;) The best way to meet some of the wonderful people here is to post. The more you post the easier it will be to get to know them and after you have 5 posts you'll be able to PM (personal message) them. BTW we all love to hear new opions and points of view from others, so do try to post your questions and comments.

Looking forward to reading yours

What do you think?

No, I'm just kidding. Trying to make you smile.

Did it work?

BTW feel free to PM me any time, I just love to chat. :P

Well, I noticed that people preferred to call you Random rather than Confused...and that's a good thing!

I'll follow the trend and say welcome to Laura's, Random!

There are a lot of members who are just as confused as you, so don't feel alone. Look around the Forums,

post any question you like, and make friends.

This is the easiest place to make new friends that I've ever encountered, and I'm sure you will feel the same.

The folks here are caring, compassionate and lots of fun.

Enjoy yourself, and learn. We'll be here for you.

To Jean Davis: thanks it did make me smile but i think i will get a more common name :P but its a bit anoying my name does not seem to have an equivalent in female form such has john/jane so i shall have to do some searching if its the path i choose since I'm not entirely sure.

To Carolyn: yes i do like to be called random right now cause thats what i am you know a few years in isolation tends to do that (not complete isolation social isolation fun time at school :/) but thanks for the warm welcome i might pm a few people im not too sure what to talk about but i am very happy with the reception :) I'm not feeling so alone anymore and tis nice to feel free to talk about this. Reminds me of a few years back it provides relief of sentiment i used to bottle up my rejection of society so much i actually burst out crying in class once :/ it was a really awkward day that time and i do know it did not help me make any more friends :/.

Hello Random,

I am gald you are here. I think you are starting to see the ease you can have about expressing yourself here.

I have brought you some chocolates. So let's just relax and enjoy them.

I know how you feel and I did not tell my parents until last week. I am a lot older than you and the missery that I put myself through was unnesessary. I tried to be a man and a husband. I thought I was doing a good job of it but, Not really. I am much happier now. You will need to spend some time in theraphy before you speak to your parents ( I would start with Mom) There are some good guides on coming out. You parents are more likely to upset with themselves than angery with you. It is no ones fault that you feel like you do. This is just who you are. There will be a lot for you to think about and I hope we can help you sort it all out.

Peace & Love Amanda

Thanks Amanda sorry for the late reply im sure i said this my parents hold the 'key' to the computer has such im limited im not exactly sure about coming out yet or the whole gender thing its still a mess for me and well i don't know about therapy im pretty sure you need parental consent for treatment and oftenly if its something serious they ask to talk to the parents but i do wish to talk with other people here and get to know this better.

Random---i like that name actually! As everyone has said you are welcomed and accepted here. We don't all have understanding and accepting families so you can make us your family and you can ask about anything of us. It's a great place to be who you are and who you are becoming. You will find no judgement here and no condemnation. Were that the rest of the world were the same!!!

I've been absent so much lately I feel as if I'll never catch up. Too much going on in our lives that's kept me away from the keyboard. and limited my time as "me."   I am so looking forward to your post on how you arrange your life. I know that I won't ever be able to fully transition so finding some happy balance is crucial for me.

Mae, you are so sweet for making this comment.   Desert Fox, you are so right.  I always knew that even though I was part-time, my motivation was way more complicated than a simple desire to wear women's clothes.   Your question is a timely one because in my next post, I am going to talk about how compartmentalized my life is, and the short answer is yes.  I have friends who only know Sally, friends who only my male persona, and a rare few that know both.

@EasyE With my background in Behavioral Sciences I do go to actual conferences for the medical and psychological professionals that deal with Trans Youth, and in those conferences, the ethics of "too fast" versus "too slow and restrictive" are a heavy concern.  There is very thoughtful sharing among the participants for making professional judgments that the therapist is comfortable with without being afraid of what is "too soon" or "not soon enough" to advance to medical prescription therapies. The ethics of what constitute reasonable caution or unreasonable delay are deeply at play in those situations, with the idea to prevent harm while alleviating the patient's stress and other issues.  This type of conference fulfills Continuing Education license requirements that most states and other areas have.  From them the therapist may seem to "speed up" their evaluation process, but it is based on the accumulated experience of colleagues, just as is true in other professions and yes, even trades.

That's wonderful news!! I took our pup in for her Vet check today - perfect. She slept 7 hours last evening and is coming along really well with her house breaking and crate training.   I know you'll have some excitement with a new Boxer!!

Surgeries are drastic, and indeed should be a last resort for minors.  As indeed they are.  It is very rare for anyone under 18 to get gender-affirming surgery.  It is typically only done if the person would be suicidal without it.   Puberty blockers are a way to avoid the "drastic measure" of forcing the person to undergo the wrong puberty.  They should not be prescribed lightly, and I don't think they are.  They are a way to go slow until the person can truly make an informed decision.

My Endo keeps track of several trace chemicals in my blood system that can be affected by our slightly different hormone balance, keeping in mind we have had both hormones all our life, just in different balance.  I did have to change one diuretic I was taking that was crashing out one chemical that does affect energy levels, and it turned out that Spiro was the alternative to that one for the way it works there.  I was never on Spiro for the hormone issues per se.  Let your doctor know about the fatigue sometime today or whenever you read this.

Hmmm .  .  . if I only had a ten-word description that completely described my identity. That would be great, but one doesn't exist. "I'm a girl—and a boy. And neither—and both?" There. Now you know, right? Maybe not. —Davie

I think you should discuss it with your doctor.  I know you are 'asking around' but experience probably varies.

This one is behind a pretty heavy pay-wall, for me $50 US/per year.
