New Shoes

After being under the weather all weekend I finally felt well enough to go out this afternoon. So I went down to the Dulles Town Center and bought myself a new pair of shoes. I got them on sale in a clearance at the Victoria Secret store. :D I think I'm still going to go ahead and call in sick tomorrow because darn it I was sick all weekend and I want a day I can full enjoy and not have to work before going back to work. LOL

Sorry the image is fuzzy because I used the camera in my laptop oh and disregard the mess behind me I'm painting the stair way going into the basement right now. The color of the shoes are actually brown but, the color quality of the photo just stinks. I'm thinking I'm going to wear these to my next support group meeting next month.

They fit like a glove and because they are open on the front and back I was able to pretend I actually fit a size 9. :D

Alas I have grown quite attached to them and don't think I could bare to part with them. B)

Thanks

Oh and Sara I bought this pair about a month ago. They fit but I'm not used to such a high heel.

See you can never have enough shoes. :D These are my only two nice pumps but I am hooked. These are the nice sort of shoes that I can wear to work when I dress up for meetings.

I'm not sure if those would be good for meetings. At the work place I'm pretty sure a lower heel would be best. Those two pairs look like they would be best for going out at night.

Oh she will find out Lizzie,

I have lots of high heels,25 pair at last count.

But I found,by hard experience,is that if you are going to be on your feet

for an extended period of time to wear a lower heel for sheer comfort.

The heels look delightful and make my short legs look a mile long, but by

the end,all I am wanting to do is get them off my aching feets.

SHEWS!!!!!

This topic got me window shopping. I'm actually starting to think I have pretty feet. The fact that they're bigger than average ladies size always kinda overshadowed the fact, but really, they kinda are (just gotta get rid of the bits of fur) So I think maybe I'ma get me some shews too!

The second half of Wednesday is basically all meetings for me. I was thinking on those days right before heading tot he meeting I would slip into a nicer pair of shoes for the meeting and then take them off once I get in my car to go home after getting out of the meetings. It's maybe four city blocks of walking round trip and 4 hours sitting in a chair. I need to look good for these meetings because presidents, vice presidents, and deans of the school attend the meetings. Hopefully they will be ok, but if not I'll just have to go buy more shoes. Yippie!

I understand. People are not meant to be walking around on their toes like these shoes impose on us. I do have a nice wedge though that is a lower size and is easy to be in all day. It's almost like a flat it's so comfy. :D I'd probably go for that pair on a regular day or just a flat or tennis shoe when dealing with the techs.

Those are awesome shoes Natalie!

I am jealous as we're going to be snow covered for the coming six months....

You can get some nice boots. :D

Both of those pairs went up to size 11 but I don't know about wide. If you are looking for a nice pair of heels but can't find your size you could buy some matching color elastic and snip off just a bit of a strap that is tight and sew on the elastic to get your foot to fit.

Thanks :D I like them a lot too. I got them different colors so they would go with a wider range of cloths. The funny thing is they are both of them are Colin Stuart shoes. I didn't plan it that way or just look at that brand. They just both caught my eye when I saw them and ending up picking them out. I'm so tempted to go out and buy more shoes and cloths but I need the money for hrt and therapy.

Natalie,

My absolute favorite pair of shoes are my wedges.

They are soo cute, girly and feminine and go with most anything,

and can wear them for hours and hours, they feel that good on my feet.

A tip for the higher heels.Buy a good brand of ball of the foot pads that

are made for high heels. They make a real difference in your own personal

comfort.Like walking in your door, thankful to get those shoes off your aching

feet.To being comfy and your thinking how pretty your feet look in those shoes.

Especially after a night out dancing with your friends.

Are they like sole inserts that go in the shoe? How do you keep them in place?

They have a self adhesive that keeps them in place.

And come in many different styles, but you only need the ball of the foot type.

Well, I guess that I'm kinda lucky...

I can do a women's size 9-10 .....

And I do have one pair of "Mary Janes" that fit nicely and they're a size 8....

But, most of my heels are of the "Clunky" type not the stiletto type...

I tend to teeter on the spikey type heels...

I really don't like to face plant .......

HUGGS!

Yes, I dressed up as Daphne Blake (from Scooby Doo) for Halloween a few years ago, and worked all night in go-go boots with 4 inch heels. Biiiiiiiiiig mistake  Ah well, thinking of being that stupid again this year.

Something must not be quite right with me. There is no reason this thread and the shoe discussion should get to me the way it has. I dont know what it is but I will think on it and see if I can come up with a reason

Lol! I hear you, Dee Jay. I've had daydreams about ending up in the emergency room

with a broken ankle, and trying to explain to the doctor, and my S.O., how I got it!

I don't understand why people place any value on what actors, musicians, or sports people have to say about politics.  It isn't any more relevant than what the average person on the street has to say about it. And this article only had a couple of quotes, no video of what he actually said for context.    There's plenty to criticize about modern culture, and MeToo. (anybody remember when # was pronounced "pound" instead of "hashtag?" 🙄)  if the two or three quotes in the article are the "worst" things he said, its basically nothing.

Thank you, Charlize. Just to be myself is often a struggle, but to be living my truth is a great reward in itself. At 76, too, I'm a happy young trans non-binary person. Cheers, Davie.

I'm certainly feeling excitement right now from an impending move.  Excitement isn't something that I seek.  At least not consciously.  I'm looking forward to wrapping up this packing phase because I have a good computer programming project to get to.  Actually, there are a few of them stacked up.

I'd like to see some American trans artists sue a few American haters. Trans actor Karla Sofía Gascón sues French far-right politician after ‘sexist insult’ The actor, who became the first transgender woman to win the best actress prize at Cannes, had earlier dedicated her award to ‘all the trans people who are suffering’. The first transgender woman to be awarded the best actress prize at the Cannes film festival filed a legal complaint on Wednesday over a “sexist insult” from a far-right politician after her win. Karla Sofía Gascón and co-stars jointly received the accolade on Saturday for their performances in French auteur Jacques Audiard’s Mexico-set narco musical Emilia Perez. https://www.theguardian.com/film/article/2024/may/29/trans-actor-karla-sofia-gascon-sues-french-far-right-politician-after-sexist-insult

I'm not even sure I know what an emotion is.  I often feel intimacy.  I can feel loneliness, but I'm just way too optimistic to stay stuck in that.  I guess any negative emotion I get is just fuel to work on something.

I listen to Outlaw Country a lot too. My favorite music genre. I went to an Outlaw Music Festival last summer featuring Willie Nelson. It was awesome. Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, EmmyLou Harris, George Jones, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams. Just to name a few of my favorites. I'm showing my age by admitting this. LOL

Sounds like just what you need in a situation like that, basic food.

Spiro by itself may induce some feminizing effects by suppressing T and allowing natural E in your system to bind. Just make sure you drink enough water! 😀   I specifically chose not to use a T blocker, I’m already on blood pressure meds that are effective and I did not want to risk greater sexual dysfunction of my lady stick 🤭. My labs on one shot of a “introductory” dose of estradiol velerate saw my T plummet within the first three months regardless, down to cis female levels. I have more labs in a couple weeks to check on things after titration of dose and perhaps a step up in dose.    6 months flies, girls!   It sounds like you have a wonderful NP and I’m so glad you were able to start GAHT. I’d love to keep hearing about your journey.
    • AllieJ
Flagged levels on blood tests are for levels out of range, but the ranges for males and females are different. I was flagged all the time for low T levels until I had my medical records changed to Female. For a while there were no flags, but eventually I was flagged as low T for the female range. My doctor advised that low T can cause low energy, low libido, and/or reduced cognitive function, but as I didn't exhibit low energy or altered cognitive function, we decided I could live with low libido, and as yet, I haven't added a T supplement. My doctor has decent experience with trans patients, and bases treatments as much on how I feel as the test numbers.   Hugs,   Allie

I totally see the value in expressing your views on what you are passionate about Mmindy, but I also see that as different from surrendering to the flow of your emotions. I sometimes practise turning my tears off and on at will, since I feel the better I can control them the more confident I can be to just let them take me over sometimes. I find one exercise helpful: to think of a time when I lacked for love and to give myself the love I needed then.    I’m so glad you are becoming more able to express your emotions.
    • KathyLauren
Now that is what I call service!  Congratulations on your HRT and on having such good patient care.
    • Mmindy
I agree with you, and I consider myself lucky to have a realistic understanding that I’m never going to have my dream body. I take comfort in the fact that women come in all shapes and sizes. I compare myself to the women in my family at the age I am now, and see that resemblance. It may be easier to transition into an Auntie or Grandmotherly figure once you reach a certain age.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
