Ex Mom Inlaw Meets The Real Me

I got a new puppy yesterday,her name is Mini Mouse.

My oldest brought her by,while in the car was my exes mom.

I was support for her husband when he was going through a

long terminal illness until he passed.On the night he transitioned

to the next plain,we were sitting outside of the hospital smoking.

She all ready knew about me,for I did nothing to hide who I am.

She told me," I love you the man very much,but I cannot handle

you as a woman." And so doing like most all of us do,respected

her wish and kept contact to a minimum for the last three years.

I was outside with my new furry addition,and she called out,"You

had better come see me." Yes Ma'am. So her first encounter with

the real me was unexpected.I love that I was ready,nails,hair,

skirt and light makeup.She told me,"You look good,but I still prefer

my macho man."And as they were leaving she told me to call anytime.

She may not be able to handle the change,but we got along like we

always have for the last twenty nine years.And am so glad she finally

got to meet the real me face to face,see I really am a woman.

She is my dogs great grand daughter and looks just like he did as a puppy 13 years ago.

I forgot how tiny he was when my kids first brought him home from the pound in January 96.

And he is a mutt but a good,friendly,loyal,smart mutt.

It's hardest for the people who knew us the longest to adjust to those changes ,but somehow it is more precious when they do....

It sounds like your ex mother in law has decided that her world is a little bit better place with you in it.

She may not be able to handle the changes right now but that too may come with time.

Call her often and cherish each conversation, no one knows how long any of us have on this Earth and it is such a shame to waste any of it.
