Parallel World

Parallel

The sound was faint breaking the deafening silence.

That small taping sound that sounded close yet so far.

I raised my heavy head looked up slowly, carefully.

The tapping countinued I look around to see where it was coming.

I did not find it.....at first.

Hey! I turned around hoping praying it was someone to save from this prision.

All I saw behind was a mirror.

Confused I aproched the shining glass expecting to see my self.

The mirror was blank...no reflection.

All of the sudden the taping stopped.

A voice, a kind gentle voice said to me "freeing the soul is true sight".

I repiled, how?

Only you can find that answer the voice replied.

I thought for a second then shut my eyes commanding my soul to take form.

I waited.

Suddenly a feeling or some alien instinct shouted OPEN!

Ripping my eyes open I saw her.

A girl was in the mirror.

Shocked I turned around expecting someone there but saw nobody.

I turned asking that mysterious girl a question.

Who are you?

She simply laughed and said look into my eyes.

Looking into them I saw her memories that seemed familer why?

Because they were also mine.

Then the answer hit me like a rock.

She is me.

At least my other half the half that I been hiding so long.

She looked at me with a pleading stare and said one final thing to me "free yourself".

I first looked at her then around the dank empty prision.

I simply said lets go.

Hand outstreched I took it travelling to that other world that Parallel world.

Only leaving behind nothing.

Joanna,

nice prose. ive always preferred to express myself thru poetry (symbolism) as it is a great vehicle to explore feelings in a manner that allows the reader to explore your feelings with you. There is also a sense of adventure in poetry, a kind of exposure into the writers soul, that can really only be interpreted by the reader. In other words, it's a gamble.

Thanks for sharing your poem.

I really like it. It gives the reader the feeling that he/she might have a chance to one day being able to become the person they should have been. You should keep writing. :)
