I just thought I'd take 5 minutes to introduce myself, I'm 28, From Scotland, I've just started the MTF route, My whole life nearly I've been meaning to do this but with one thing and another I've either blocked it out, or had to deal with something else thats came up, but eventually it catches up on you and you can't just ignore or block it any longer. I'm waiting on my appointment for the Sandyford clinic, I'm kinda nervous but also excited because this is my chance to let the real me out. My wonderful wife seems to be accepting and willing to give the whole thing a try, so I'm quite lucky that way. Sometimes I blether on lol, So Hiya everyone :)

Welcome to Laura's Dana!

I am a parent of a FtM who is mid-twenties. I'm sure you'll find that everyone is very supportive here & you can vent if you need to without worrying about anything. My background is British, but the family lore on my father's side is that his grandfather was from Scotland and the police were after him for stealing sheep, so he fled Scotland for England and changed his surname, LOL!

So happy to hear that your wife is supportive as that makes all the difference in the world; family harmony! Take care.

Welcome to Laura's, Dana! It's great to meet you.

I don't have to tell you how friendly folks are here...you've already gotten a good dose of that!

Have a look around the forums, check out the chat rooms, and post any questions or concerns

or opinions that you have. We are a moderated site, so folks like me make sure it's safe for

our teens and we keep nasty people out.

Good luck on your journey, and keep us postd as to how you are doing. We care.

HUGS

Welcome aboard, @The Lake. One thing you can be confident in is that this forum is a safe place to share your thoughts. Have a good look around and chime in as you see fit.

Thank you! So do I! Although I'm proud of what it portrays, I don't wear it often because I think it could be taken as being a bit provocative. One part of me says look at me, I'm proud to be on the rainbow and the other part says pull your head in, you're asking for trouble.   I do have a more subtle pride t-shirt that I visibly wear more often, here is a representation of it: "Moon phase rainbow" V-Neck T-Shirt by secretmagic | Redbubble

Emotional stability is a personality trait that describes how calm, collected, and emotionally consistent someone is. It's the opposite of neuroticism, which is a personality trait that describes how much negative affect, emotional volatility, and mood fluctuation a person displays.

I'm lucky. I have both. For therapists, the Psychology Today is a good source, as is the resource section here at TP.  BOTH are soi vital.

Hello @The Lake, Welcome to our forum. I’m intrigued by your introduction and would enjoy reading more about your backstory. We all have very unique journeys and yours is not one I have come across often. As you become more comfortable with our community, maybe you could share more aout how your gender identity evolved, what difficulties you confronted and endured and what some of your successes were along the way. Also, do you see yourself involved in a future transition of roles, presentation, social, physical, or something else entirely? There is never any pressure to share a thing here. So feel free to share as little or as much as you like. We are a very open-minded nonjudgmental group who enjoy learning new things from our members.   Warmest Regards, Susan R🌷

Welcome @gizgizgizzie, It’s nice to have you in the fold. We are a very diverse group so you’ll fit in just fine. Right now, society at large is getting bombarded with misinformation, bait and switch tactics, propaganda and lies so it’s no wonder no one can get it right. I don’t come out and explain things about my gender identity as much these days but when I do it’s amazing how little these people know about our transgender community in 2024.   Thanks for sharing a little about yourself. I hope to learn more about you as you become more acclimated and active within our forum.   Warmest Regards, Susan R🌷
