Joanna, you look great, hon. Once your hair grows out a little you will look fantastic. I assume you've had your eyebrows done professionally,

because I love the arched look. You're doing good, girl!

Thanks Carolyn you are right about the brows since those and the hair are courtesy of Wally World $12.95 for the brows and bout 14 for the hair. The blouse is from Fashion Bug and although the cam doesnt show it has a subtle ruffle down each side of the buttons. The blouse goes realy nicely with my black slacks(also Fashion Bug) and my black wedges (forget were).

Thanks for the complements and btw thats a bare face, decided to take the pic and didnt have makeup on.. guess the hrt is doing some good things for the face and the beard

The hrt has done the same as it did for me.. it's taken years off.. nicely. Now with a little luck it will either stop the clock for a good few years or significantly slow it. My consultant says it's a sign that your body not only accepts the hrt but has been looking for it and is wired to use it properly. XD

For those who want to see the changes over time check out the photo journal on my site, it has a pic of me from 2006 for comparison. Thank y'all for such lovely comments, it has been a real feel good thing for me to get all of this positive feedback from those I trust and love. Until I took that shot I hadnt fully realized just how much I had actually changed, but OMG its astounding.

I remember how hard you had to fight to start HRT. I can't believe it has been three months already! I hope you are adjusting to your dose and you definitely look fabulous LADY!

Ive adjusted quite nicely to it Joe, thanks for asking. I cant believe its been three months the only draw back is that my body has set up its own cycle (blech) all of the emotional effects with none of the mess.

Hey, Joanna,

Looking good but I have two suggestions.

One have someone tickle your feet before you take the next one - a smile will not only make you look even younger but it will brighten your eyes.

And Two use it for your avatar - it doesn't look like you anymore! :)

      Accidents happen.  So do heat-of-the-moment murders, without premeditation or trans-related hate.  It will take a trial to really figure it out.     One thing we can see from this is that it is people in our circles of acquaintances, friends, and partners who are the ones who usually hurt us.  Not someone random. We have to be careful who we trust.

      Friday May 17th is IDAHOBIT (International Day Against HOmophobia, BIphobia and Transphobia).   Do you acknowledge or celebrate it? Do you do anything special for it, like taking part in any organized events or activities?   I'm not an activist and I prefer to fly under the radar, but I am slowly becoming aware of important dates. I have been aware of the date of IDAHOBIT for a few weeks now, but other important 'rainbow' dates have not been etched into my brain yet.    I will wear my favorite pride t-shirt as a token acknowledgement of the day, but it probably won't be seen; cool weather here will mean that it will be hidden under a sweater.

      Hello & welcome, giz! Your post makes me remember how excited I was to join here too. I also had queer friends at the time I joined, but any of my trans friends lived a long distance away. So most local queer friends are gay & I felt uncomfortable coming out to them bc I couldn't assume they'd understand genderqueerness. So it was a thrill to join here and immediately have access to do many wonderful, genuine, kind & thoughtful friends-to-be.   Are you saying you're concerned that if you come out to your queer friends that somehow your parents will find out?     My love, I just want to affirm that that's not a weird dysphoria. It's just dysphoria. And we definitely get it. You're in good company here!     Look forward to seeing you around here & getting to know you.       Funny.....   The day-centre transportation director told me yesterday morning that I was to receive an award, my picture on the website, etc... for having won the billiards tournament (I knew better).   Later that afternoon he returns to "shake my hand" and tell me, "thanks for participating."   I could have told him that was all I would receive earlier. I'm not well liked by management.
