Bright light and soft voices

Echo then go dim.

When

You wake up again,

It’s with pain and (plastic)

Hope

That it all went well

And your problems are over.

Because they’re gone, and

that’s all that matters,

Right?

Ten years later and you’re

Back,

So what if it’s not the same hospital?

The light and the pain and the hope

Are all the same.

More of your body’s been removed.

Does it make you feel (plastic)

Better?

Plastic surgery superstar

With more scars than

You can count,

More bills than you can pay.

Is it

Over yet?

Surgery after surgery,

Are we done?

Am I me?

Or am I plastic?
