Femme Partner Of Ftm & We Were Lesbians?

Hello I want to fully introduce myself. I am in a completely loving devoted relationship with my partner of 4 intense months who is beginning the journey from FTM. We met as lesbians over the internet. I am a forty plus high femme and she (at the time) was labelled gay... oddly to me then refusing the labels lesbian, butch etc.

As a high femme I adore masculine traits so (her at the time) preferences and references to male, man and he were sexy, attractive and endearing...

The past for my partner was suicidal, self harming, anxiety, low self esteem, alcohol & drugs now completely in recovery. My partner is highly intelligent studious but unemployed and worried about finding work going through the changes. His family disowned him for over a decade when he came out as gay. Some ten years later and history is repeating itself... His family are divided on his transgender blaming him for causing yet more problems. So here I am fully supporting and encouraging my partner to begin his transition and wondering where the community is for us to belong to... It is a new relationship like I said of 4 months but in my 40's I know that I am totally in love... I don't know what I am getting myself completely into despite being open minded and I do take each day at a time...I don't know what the changes from the testosterone hormones will bring which we read about and how will this effect our relationship. I would really like I to share my thoughts, hopes despairs. I Look forward to hearing from you, many thanks Essence x

Hello, Essence....

Gee...it's really nice to meet you!

Carolyn has gotten you all settled in, so I just wanted to say "HI"!

You know what? For those of us here on the forums, relationships are mostly of a "non-traditional" type...

For instance...I'm MTF and having been married to my wife for 30 years....I like women...therefore, that would make me a lesbian.....right?

AWwwww....who cares, anyway....?

We love who we love...we shouldn't get all hung up on labels or it will make us go crazy trying to keep up with it!

We all should all just be happy that we HAVE someone to love!

I'm glad that you joined up and I look forward to seeing you around here!

LOVE & HUGGS!

Thank you so much Carolyn Marie for your introduction...

It is so kind of you to make me feel so welcome and I look forward to sharing and getting to know the community

feeling isolated is quite depressing just being in a trans world is comforting already.

Hello Donna Jean,

Thank you so much...

Non-traditional yes...

Tradition truly is a farce!

My mind has been completely opened since meeting my partner in every way!

Society is truly repressive and changes need to be brought up to date...

I cannot believe how much distress, pain and suffering so many young and old trans people

go through in silence...

It really is essential for everyone to forge ahead with a new way of thinking,

educating a new future and bringing more equality...

It is a long journey and a better place by sharing

Big hugs

Guest Tim's Emma

Hello :)

I'm Emma, my boyfriend is FtM as well, although when i met him he was a very pretty, petite girl.

She was always the masculine one, i'm definatly extremly girly but because I'm an inch taller and more plump people always presumed i was masculine which i hated because they would always just think that because she was smaller i must be. It always seemed nasty to me because you'll never see me out of a dress with hair down past my waist and make-up as perfect as i could get it. She would always just be in her scruffs with no makeup and people would still presume it lmao!

On the whole 'were we lesbians before', for me it was very odd because i had always been attracted to men and there se was, this friendly girl in my photography class who i got on with extremly well and we just grew closer and closer. We started as friends, but we flirted a lot and after a while our mates got fed up and had a sort of intervention lol. She knew i liked men so that's why she hadn't asked me out, she thought she would jsut be a fling with me when she wanted more, but i'd fallen in love with her, much to my own surprise as well as everyone elses!

We had 2 and a half completly besotted years and then as i got closer to 20 i began to panic thinking about my little silly dream of a husband and kids and the sterotypical family which was all i'd wanted all my life. I freaked out and broke down and she started laughing (which didn't go down well with a destraut me because i felt like i was being torn in half) thats when she finally told me!!

So i don't know wat i am really. My family think i'm bisexual- but i don't look at girls on the street and find them attractive, i just think they're pretty and like their clothes lol. Men i love and while second glance at, yet it was a girl i fell in love with and although atm his body is still a womans, its him im in love with. and since he feels male it is male pronouns i use.

He has told his mother a million times that i'm not lesbin, but just teh other night she turned round and asked me 'so will you still be attracted to her when she doesn't look like a girl'. How many time do i have to scream that its him. Yes he was and technically still is a she, but its always ben him and only him. I feel in love with her for her personality and i stayed with her for 2 years because of that, not because she has breasts. So tbh, i don't have a clue and people can think what they want because i know that you can't catergorize everyone. no one is a sterotype to put in a box.

Welcome, i'm new too. I'd love to talk to you some more :)

Maybe surface tension?   I was in a political debate yesterday and it got way too focused on social stuff and I just had to steer the conversation back to how natural gas transitions to a liquid under pressure.  One of the people I was debating had a career working in that field and it was a good opportunity to expose stuff like that.  He mentioned that it isn't just pressure, it is temperature too.  So then I mentioned how the lines are running underground and asked how that played a role in it.  He came back saying that natural gas is a liquid under pressure.  I guess I didn't get a straight answer on that, but it did move my thinking one step down the road.  Perhaps I should have been more direct with him and asked him at what temperature and pressure.  Is there a chart?   I feel people would be better off if they paid more attention to the objects in their environment instead of focusing on some of the things that we hear so much of in the news.  People are pretty clueless as to how much trigonometry plays a role in so many things in our society.  Even land surveyors don't really use it anymore because programmers locked it away in a function.  Much like how cascading style sheets (CSS) is a wrapper for math.  I wonder what former president Trump thinks about all of that?  He must have some knowledge of how his buildings are constructed, right?  There certainly is a part of me that thinks he is just putting on a show about all of this.  Perhaps I'm wrong though.  All kinds of people in the world.

Hello Jennifer and welcome back.  I find New England to be a great place to live.  I have a number of acquaintances and friends in Maine and I love the state.  It seems you are doing well.     Hugs,  Jani

Oh, my "maybe this person is an egg" story is the (male presenting) piercing person and I discussed body hair removal methods, he says he doesn't want any hair except on his head, which is what I said during a couple hair removal sessions before and just after the egg cracked.

I, too, am lucky.  Here in the UK I have a great therapist, a fully supportive GP, and a psychiatrist and endo who look after me and my needs.  I found the therapist on Psychology Today.

Over the last few years of being on this site and going through medical transition, I've come to own the M->F identification.  Funny, I made a typo of M->T.  It is a curiosity if I'll ever put Gender: Female on this site.  It is my intention to be there someday.   Right now, because of career stuff and a high stress event with an electric hair clipper last fall, I'm feeling much more masculine than I would like.  I think that once I make some decent headway with my third career, I'll settle into a more feminine feeling.   I never really considered gender very much.  I certainly always used a feminine appearance as my presentation goal. I think that when I was young, I briefly had the idea of transitioning, but I convinced myself quickly that medical transition would be a bad outcome, so I put all those feelings and ideas in the closet for decades.  I'm still very apprehensive about medical transition.  I've always taken health to be a high priority for me.  I wrote a book last December about my fears of it all and my conclusion ultimately is that sometimes there is more to life than being a pillar of health.  It's important to take some chances if that is where your heart takes you.

Good morning and congratulations @MirandaBon getting your ears pierced. This opens up a new line of jewelry to buy and collect.    @KymmieLits ashamed that any employee would ever to post a sign like this.    Well Parker Von Schwinegruber not only got me up early, we enjoyed our first cup of coffee on the patio before the sun was up. Oh it was daylight but just barely. The second cup of coffee was in the recliner, and now I’m pinned here and need someone to pour my third cup.    It’s a dog’s life… Eat, play, go potty and sleep. Trump-linked dark-money group spent $90m on racist and transphobic ads in 2022, records show. Citizens for Sanity was one of top political spenders last election cycle and is back for 2024 with more extreme messaging, https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/may/17/trump-citizens-sanity-election-ads

I adore the Bee Gees. There's no way that I could link all their great songs in the above post. To me though, this song of theirs is head and shoulders above everything else:
