I to have experienced changes that I consider for the better since going on HRT. I allow myself to feel more, be empathetic to others more. I feel very little anger anymore and my perspectives have changed to wanting to be a better person/woman. I still care about what goes on the news, but I also find myself less wrapped up about the bad in the world and more into whats good. I used to feel that crying was a wasted emotion and now I love a good cry over a sad story. I find that I enjoy my emotions and I'm more willing to express them rather than bottle them up inside. I also find that I'm happier, calmer, I smile more and people respond back to me positively more and I like that. My voice is softer and sweeter to my ears and I love that. All of these positives have occurred since I began to take estrogen and to repress my androgens. I love what estrogen has accomplished in my life. My daughter commented yesterday that she loves the changes in me. She has started to refer to me as Katheryn now. I loved my dad,but also I love Katheryn and I LIKE Katheryn better. She's an awfully smart young lady and I like me better to. Kathryn

That's so awesome Kathryn, I am very happy for you and your daughter

My daughters can't help but notice the changes in our home, and it's calmer, better communication between us all.

Positive changes, powerful stuff, life changing most definately.

Hugs

My basic aptitude is very strong in math and off the charts in critical thinking skills and concepts. I'm a real problem-solver and I really love doing that. So, the question is, is that aspect of my brain likely to change? Will I suffer diminished ability to visualize concepts in my head, lose some of my math skills and have reduced problem solving abilities?

Yvonne

I am the same way and I can tell you that *shouldn't change for you... Im still just as sharp as the day I started HRT. Although I will say that my desire to tackle complex tasks has diminished but not my ability... hope that helps :)

While there is proof that hormones affect the brain's physiology, there is yet no evidence that they have a significant impact on cognitive abilities.

As a matter of fact, there are so many factors that can affect cognitive efficiency that I wouldn't bother too much about the effects HRT may have over it. Aspects like ageing, diet, and sleeping patterns can have much more effect on your mental skills.

Try to do some regular cognitive training and it will definitely offset any impact HRT could have on cognitive skills.

I remember reading how that brain game for nintendo DS (forgot what it is called) that came out a few years back actually had a measurable positive impact on Alzheimers patients. So yea I could see cognitive training making more of a difference than any negative cognitive effects of HRT (which I doubt there is any). So I don't know, just challenge yourself once in awhile :)

Game is called Brain Age, and it's a hell ofa great game.

I feel my mood changing and the way I perceive problems to slip into a more female perspective as it did when I was younger. Before all the social pressures of needing to be manly took hold. I'm probably not a great candidate since I have always had moods, emotions and thought patterns as the women that were close to me but I feel like HRT has already changed me for the better. The lack of violent rage has already been a blessing in traffic :) I just hope it doesn't affect my direction sense, men have a better direction sense than women, google the science because it's too late for me to fact check me self lol

I have no base line for my temper or mood before hrt, as it has been far to long since i started HRT to remember my self with out them. i remember personality as a child i was always sensitive emapthetic , caring and much much more shy. that was shortly before hormones and also shortly before i became a teenager . this is also about the time when my mom started pushing me to be "tougher" put me in martial arts classes. even with the hrt and the appearnce that it gave me. i was still able to maintain an air of masculinity. by simply beating the crap outta any one that questioned the way i looked. while i wasn't thee toughest "boy" around , the term bad a88 was sometimes applied to me . though i laughed about it on the inside . " what bad a88 cries after a fight and worries that they seriously hurt the other person, when no ones around ? " i have never been a violent person , even when i was a "violent" person it was all a show born of nessecity.

I feel HRT had no real effect on that aspect of me or the rewiring of anything. I am naturally a polite caring and friendly person. it was coming out and living as a woman that allows me to freely express those traits in me. with out repercussion.

though i think most of these effects that people get are from the reduction of testosterone more than it is attributed to the addition of more estrogen. reduced anger tension and aggression over active sex drive, spriolatone is used to treat all of that..... even in women.

i also think that the reduction in said testosterone allows for the enhancment of these natural attributes to show threw .

I think Cindy will get this since she and I share an electronic hobby, but, I don't think the wiring in my brain has changed, but some filter circuits have been turned off, and the values on some of the components values have changed a bit so I receive better low power signals than I did before and just overall hear parts of the frequency a little better. An emotional sunspot cycle is in its good years.

Now OLD AGE rewires your brain - shorts it out to be more...

Now what is this topic? OH - Rewiring the brain to full female.

Now OLD AGE rewires your brain - make you repeat things.

So if you are old and on HRT you get to put those pretty blue pills under your tongue

Now if you are on injctibles, enjectionables... if you take shots, don't do it under the tongue.

Well I wouldn't.

I mean under the tongue

(I am not sure about the patches).

Lizzy, you had me a little confused at first, then I reread your post and got it <chuckle>. As my partner in crime here at work says, it's my alltimers kicking in. I've placed patches behind my ear (scopolamine), scrotum (testosterone), abdomen (insulin pump cannula), Estrogen patches (I'm getting creative) on my back shoulder. Anything else and it just might wind up under my tongue or in my ear. Kathryn

At the other end and in our favor is Julia Serano's analysis of the Cass Report Fiasco   https://juliaserano.medium.com/the-cass-review-wpath-files-and-the-perpetual-debate-over-gender-affirming-care-8f56d0c4d0c6   Serano is a Trans Woman and a molecular biologist herself, guess whose evaluation I honor.

That's great @MaeBe hopefully the company will offer your wife a moving package with the new job position. That's how I was transferred from the St. Louis Metro area to the Indianapolis Metro area. The company covered all the moving expenses, as well as a three week stay in an extended living hotel while we chose an area to build our current home.   Good Luck and make it a happy adventure.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

@Birdie is the day care in charge of your MyChart, Hospital, and Doctors as to how you are cared for? There has to be some way to prove that you were born intersex and have a choice on your chosen pronouns. I wish we could do more for you. Keep pushing forward.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

The Republicans are not interested in compromising.  Johnson will be gone for compromising unless the Dems help him out.

Biden campaigned as the master negotiator, able to push legislation through Congress.   Whatever bill a Dem president, a Dem Senate, and a Rep House can agree on might be  more palatable than a bill with a R president, R Senate and R House given present attitudes. They are throwing away a chance.
    • Ivy
A bill like this would never get through congress, even if it were allowed to be voted on.

Ha, that's funny - I swear this is the one I used to use in high school to get around school blockers and play games. 😅🤦‍♀️   Though I'd be wary of using a free VPN today, if your only intent is bypassing censorship, I guess it works. Proton VPN also has a free tier with a limited selection of countries/servers. I feel more comfortable recommending them as they actively try to fight censorship with new evolving VPN protocols, and they protect your privacy. They are also directly funded by their paying customers. So there is really no downside to using their free tier over another free VPN that may not have the same goals/values.

That sounds pretty accurate. I'm just glad I don't use Windows anymore, as I basically consider Windows itself a virus/malware. Backups can absolutely save you from some types of malware like ransomware. However it's ideal to just not get infected by having smart browsing habits. It's been said, and very accurately so, that the best antivirus is you - even the best antivirus isn't 100% accurate in detecting bad stuff, if you go out looking for that stuff or browse carelessly.   I guess if you don't care and/or don't have sensitive data on your PC, then that's fine I suppose. I personally care a lot - personal accounts, private messages, and even my very presence on this site aren't necessarily things I want to be public knowledge. 🤓🫠

Yes he is. Sorry it has taken so long. One sick kid and the other has needed my attention more than usually.
    • MaeBe
Sure is! Is he good with the kiddos?

Once again the Biden admin ignores Congress and issues a regulation that can be quickly changed. It would be much wiser if they worked a bill through Congress that became law.
    • Ashley0616
I think that is the camera on the floor. Of course the kids aren't picking up after themselves oh well. He sure is big for only being 6 months old.
