My First Skirt (that I Made Myself)

I have wanted for a while to make my own skirt to wear. It was a pretty fun project and I had some direction from my wife but I did it 100% on my own. It feels very good to wear it today after spending the time to make it. What do you all think? (The photos were taken with my iPhone, so sorry about the quality. I tried to clean them up to make them presentable).

Why thank you for the kind comments! I hurt to stand on my 4" heels because I am recovering from an avulsion fracture to my ankle. But the pics wouldn't look the same with my air cast on. :)

The dress is absolutely beautiful, you did a wonderful job on it. I want to get a sewing machine so I can start designing and making my own clothes. Also you do have a great set of legs that I would kill for. B)

Take care and keep up the good sewing

I totally agree with my sisters. The skirt is adorable, Diana. Just the right length.

I love your shoes too! And those legs, wow!

Looking great, sis!

Awesome work!

I think that someday soon I may be browsing at the mall and a "Diana Prince" will catch my attention out of the corner of my eye from the storefront window. I believe I would then pivot on a 4-inch heel to a 90-degree turn and start reaching for my purse (with whiplash, of course)!

Well done!

Diana,

The ability to sew and create clothes for yourself is a great gift, which I expect you will continue to do in the future. I have to have everything made for me at considerable expense, and I envy you your freedom.

That's a great pleated skirt. Enjoy !

Yes, I do plan on continuing to do so in the future. It was nice to have the skirt as the result, but it also felt very good making it. I am not certain which pattern I am going to work on next. Perhaps all of you can help me decide. Here are the options (these are the pattern pics, so I will probably choose a different color).

Diana, I really love both of the long skirts (the first and third pics). Just my personal preference, but

I've always thought the longer pencil skirts are so elegant and feminine.

Ok! Top one it is! I am going to use a dark red satin-like fabric.

Hi Diana.

Very professional job!

I have started sewing lessons myself and my first project was to make my 8 years old daughter some summer Pyjamas.

I plan on making her a floral summer dress next and then am going to make myself a nice blouse.

I like both the first and third skirt as I think the second skirt whilst sexy is way too young for me. :D

That looks really nice Diana. Good luck with the next one, can't wait to see it. I have thought about making my own clothing before but I don't know where to start. Can we look forward to the "Diana Prince" range of fine female clothing for the discerning male? :D
