The safest is any method that only goes through the liver once:

Patches (pricey)

Implants (very pricey)

Injectables (cheap from a compounding pharmacy)

pills go through the liver twice.

Another helpful thing would be a method that is bio-identical (exactly like what the body makes naturally). This as opposed to conjugated estrogens like Premarin which is made from the urine of pregnant mares (hence the name: PreMarIn).

One more note: If you do injectables be sure to have a nurse instruct you on how to inject.

Oops! Forgot gels. Gels go through the liver once, but they are also messy and take time to absorb.

The common starter seemst to be Estradiol for the first 6 months to a year and then other options after that, unless they figure your are high risk for complictions then they start you on the others. However close monitoring of the liver enzymes is critical

Patches, creams, or something else?

Again, these are questions for your doctor. We cannot realistically advise on hormone therapies for you.

Sherry, given that you've been on doctor supervised HRT for 8 years, has there not

been opportunities for you to ask you doctor these questions? I'm very surprised that

you are confused about this after all this time.

Ummmm yes, Sherry. You need to sit down with your doctor for a long long talk. Your posts have several inconsistancies in them so I'm beginning to wonder if you are being completely truthful with us. Be honest with us, Sherry. We're not here to judge you. We only want to help but we can't if your stories are going all over the place.

I don't know where you all are getting your cheep injections at, but the compounding pharmacy near me wanted 300 bucks for a 4 months supply. At that price, I chose to keep damaging my liver.... at least the pills are only like 10 bucks a month.

I've beeb on Dr prescibed injectables for 8yrs. I have no desire to change since they've easy on the liver & dirt cheap from my compounding pharm. I was just interested in other's opinions.

For someone who has supposedly been on these medicines for years you should know more than most members here do. I have only been on HRT for a little over three years and I know allot but due to board rules we do not generally discuss or enter into the doctor's realm of responsibility.

All you girls who have been on HRT for years makes me feel like such a noobie transgirl. I will have been on HRT for 1 year as of Dec 17th. :)

I suspect you may be safe in your response for now, but please remeber there are many things we cannot discuss.

If someone who is 13 & sits in a house of privalage asked what to do, the answer is clear, therepy. If someone else who is also 13 & feeds themselves through prostitution & doesn't have access to therapy, well that's just too messy to discuss. The rules are very clear after all.

The rules certainly are clear, Sherry, but your reply to Ashley was anything but, and didn't appear to make sense given her comment. Your response above

is no clearer and completely unrelated to anything anyone has said.

You are welcome to PM me if you would like to clarify it.

My respons to Ashey was in jest, not at her, but at us. I do not understand all these rules. I fully respect the admin to run this site in anyway they choose. I'm asking more directly, are the rules based on legal restictions or something else? Look at the responses/posts, 70% mods. I do not understand the sterilaty.

Sherry:

Discussion of pharmaceutical hormones is allowed as long as dosages are not discussed. Ashley's response was fine

Ask and you shall recieve:

Anazao Health (Formerly Kronos Pharmacy) in Las Vegas. They have a long history of serving the community and provide fast and reliable service at great prices. My injectable only costs me $40 per refill and that includes shipping to my door. One vial usually lasts me at least 4 months. Is that pharmacy you mention mixing their own stuff or are they selling you a name brand?

Anazao Health

tel 800-723-7455

fax 800-238-8239

Call and set up an account

Then have your doctor fax a prescription to them

Call back and order.

They also stock syringes.

I'm not sure that's quite true.  If it was done by private entities?  Like most landfills here are privately owned, as are power plants.  I can't see a reason they couldn't be combined.    Right now, garbage companies in my area harvest the methane produced by the landfill to run their trucks.  The put all sorts of pipes in among the layers of the landfill to collect it.  Compressed natural gas (CNG) can be used with only minor modifications to existing engines, and many truck stops are adding CNG pumps as some fleets transition to it.    A fuel's usefulness is often measured in BTU's per gallon.  CNG has approximately the same BTUs as diesel or gasoline (138,000 or so.)  Pure ethanol and E85 have much less - like 76,000 BTUs.

Well, after a week on HRT, as many would probably have predicted, I've noticed exactly zero mental or physical changes. Patience appears to be the key here as hard as that will be after finally getting my transition moving. Guess I just need to sit back and enjoy the ride. Hope that my first blood tests after two months will show hormone levels moved acceptively.

A therapist appt is a great place to dress femme, If you want to!   It also sounds like a great safe venue to speak softer and more feminine, if that’s where you want to go.     Not sure the rules now.  But if you’re seeking HRT you might have to show them something to convince the money system that your case is medically necessary.  Obvious feminine clothes and mannerisms displayed by a human assigned male at birth (perhaps this is you?)  could be check marks towards them pushing your case through.     Please be whatever brings you love for who you are.   I have pursued this all the way through obstacles, mistakes, humiliation, and pain. And I  am so so so grateful  Hugs 😊 🌈🌈

Puzzled.  My United Healthcare Medical Advantage DOES cover gender affirming surgeries.  The HARD part is finding a surgeon that's in-network.  If the surgeon is out of network, the coverage is 40%/60% (they pay 60%).    Sadly, the surgeon I'd like to have, Dr Russell Sassani, in south Florida, is out-of-network and requires full payment prior to surgery.  I'm certain that there have been insurance issues for him and others, in the past.  Most GOOD surgeons for trans surgeries don't submit insurance, though they WILL help you with the codes, etc.  Actually, he does accept some regular insurance and original Medicare.     Anyway, I hope you were able to get your surgery or at least closer to being able to do so.

Welcome Madelyn, glad you are here and best wishes on your journey!!   I started HRT about two months ago... Had my initial appointment in December... Other than a bra underneath my clothes, I likely didn't look feminine at all ... I was nervous as heck but the doc put me at ease...   Just be yourself... do what feels comfortable for you ... The pace is up to you... Remember, you are one of a kind and have inestimable worth...    EasyE

I have been creating a space to be expressive. It's def not completed yet, I have loads of ideas still. Thinking about re-painting, maybe a light pastel purple or light pink, with a satin gloss. Honestly I'm hung on which would look best. Leave a comment if you think it would look better pink or purple. This area is a combination Man-Cave / She Shack. This is my sacred space, I think it's coming out well so far. I love this room, it inspires my creativity. Tho, I think there's not much man left in the cave lol.

Then there is how FDR is revered, and the ridiculous reluctance of the left to ever say anything negative about Biden.  It destroys their credibility.  Obsessed with Trump, they ignore how much worse Biden is.

The title of this thread is highly offensive.

Oh…. Now I get what the transgender agenda is.  I missed it.   I just didn't realize he was running again.   Silly me.   I'm going to quit now.  I've already been an ass
