Sherry; as with any form of rules and laws they are made and enforced for the safety and security of the majority. This site, as you know, has a PG-13 rating and all posts need to be kept at or below that level. The rules against discussion DIY HRT are in place for safety, Laura(our host) injured herself really badly using herbals and other OTC methods.

It is up to the moderators, and administrators to enforce those rules. There is some leway but when it comes to DIY HRT there is NO LEWAY. Many times users have asked this and similar questions, and all have got the same or similar answers. Some have found that they cannot work in our rules an have left, others have seen the wisdom of the rules and have stayed to be productive members of our community.

Sherry,

Read the cover page and all the links on the cover page. This is a private site set up by a person who owns it.

As members, you and I have no rights at all. None.

We have the privilege of joining, reading and participating provided we follow the rules.

This is like thousands of other websites set up all over the place--we are allowed here at the whim of the site owner, who can toss us off at any time.

I've watched you break the rules on numerous occasions and you just got here. I guess you might want to ask yourself what it is you really seek and if it's even available on this site, because I'm not sure it is.

I hope you find what you're looking for, somewhere.

Respectfully,

Yvonne

Sherry, Yvonne summed it all up nicely (well done Yvonne :) )

Sherry, We are all here (including mods) at the discretion of Laura. This is her site and she is the one responsible for the content here. Laura is the one at risk here and thus has set forth some ground rules to protect the site, to protect us, and to protect herself. The Terms and Conditions link (the ones you agreed to upon joining this site) appear under the Laura's Playground Logo on each and every page. Notice the logo says "Laura's Playground" it does not say "Sherry's Playground". Upon joining Laura's, you agreed to the terms and conditions of her site. So far you have demonstrated nothing but sheer disregard and disrespect for those rules and everyone here at Laura's.

Your conduct will not be tolerated anymore. You have one last chance to come clean and truely be yourself. To continue on the path of deception that you are on will only result in hurting yourself, not us. We have seen it all before. Who do you think you are fooling? I'm 48 years old, do you think I am a child? I grew up on the streets of Chicago, I can see people. I can see you, very clearly.

I have got you in my crosshairs.

Watch your step.

I see what Brenda sees. I'm from the wrong side of the tracks as well.

Take a deep breath and be yourself. Isn't that why you are here as part of the process of finding yourself?

yada yada.. I know I pick on the mods too, but only when their actions appear driven by something other than impartiality. I feel it is a kind of duty of all the members to keep everybody on the straight and narrow. My bugbear is religion.. and I have had more than one run in over it.. but in the end I know that they will act to keep the peace and as a non conformist that may rattle me sometimes, but I don't take it personal. (one of my relatives was a rather famous comedian who always had a poke at organised religion... it's genetic XD)

so chill out sista :D and remember the rules are here to protect the site from legal litigation.. if you choose to do something based on your own wants and desires then as it is your own choice and action it's not for us to stop you... just don't include us because it's nowt to do with us.. yeah? If you want that kind of "advice" then off you go and find it.. and on your own head be it. I know people who have messed up injecting animal hormones into themselves and lost legs and arms.. the lucky ones who still have working kidneys and livers that is.. I have even known one person who died from liver failure after taking pills bought on the internet.

You want info on hormones and treatments.. it's all out there on the wonderful internet.. if you can be bothered to search for it a little. While we might discuss side effects and other stuff we have noticed with hrt in a general way nobody is going to tell anybody what they should or should not be taking, or even where they choose to get it from.. none of our business.. and personally I far prefer it that way. I'm a member of a place where so called "experienced" people advise others on hrt doses and places to source them.. I have many arguments with those people mostly coming down to legal liability.. "If you ain't a doctor you can't tell people precisely what to take or to avoid" .. is my line.. always.. I'm a Dr .. but not medicine.. sociology as it happens.. having the title doesn't make me qualified to give advice on treatments.. no matter how many years I have been taking them myself.

basically that.. nothing more to add.

There are many motivating factors for the sites rules and precautions, but ever single one of them boils down to something very simple: safety. As you probably already know, transgendered people are at a high risk of danger. The most common of which is from other people attacking us. That's the big reason why all posts on this board are moderated before they reach the public. It's also the reason why the site pushes so strongly for membership (though I have seen guest posts from time-to-time, not sure what's up with that). Laura and the moderation staff have to be able to closely monitor the activity on this site so that we stay protected from predators.

Trans people also run the risk of harming themselves. We do this by self-medicating, by performing self-surgery, and deprecating ourselves mentally and physically when under stress. This website is designed to educate and promote safe alternatives to these in order to preserve and celebrate the lives of members. The site is also designed to educate on-lookers, as well as friends and family of site members, about the reality of transgenderism, transsexualism, crossdressing, etc. The world has a very negative opinion toward all of us, and so we stand to show a shining example of what is the truth. We are all good-natured people at the heart, we just feel and need help like the rest of society.

To sum things up: Laura's Playground is the way it is in order to keep people safe and encourage lost souls to find a happy home with our community.

Usually the posts from someone called guest_***** are from a user who has left the board and asked that their account be deleted. The name is changed to guest_**** preserve the integrity of any message threads they might have been in. Its so someone replying to them doesnt have a reply to a nonexistant source message.

Straight to the point and 100% correct. I just wanted to back up what you said. So many users join Laura's and act as if they own this place - not showing a single respect for the owners or even saying thank you to Laura's for paying for all of this to be here. People forget this is not 'their house' and when you're over at someone elses house you respect their rules or you leave.

It has always been strange to me, even to this day, when I hear of users fighting with the admins. Its shocking what people take for granted.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.

Second warning, this has gotten far and apart from the NEWS item that it started out with and is becoming a flat out battleground over political leanings and terminology.

Welcome to Lefty Land.... a festive theme park full of sparkles and unicorns, a perfect place except for one evil orange dragon wearing a blond wig.    I'm always amazed at the "flexibility" of definitions.  One person's f@scist seems like a centrist to others.  One person's "moderate" looks to others like the 2nd coming of Fidel Castro.  A normal marriage a century or two ago is now a criminal offense, and relationships that used to be a criminal offense are now open, normal marriages.  Pedophiles now want to be called "minor attracted persons" and teenagers are now defined as children.  A Republican in NY or CA would be a Democrat just about anywhere else.  I'm certainly no advocate for relativism, these are just observations.    What I find interesting about this Australian candidate is the attitude that he shouldn't be allowed to run for office.  Why?  Just because his views are different, or even offensive?  Who makes that determination?  Can an election really be open and fair if it is barred to candidates who are not "politically correct?"  Here in the USA, we can openly have candidates who are f@scist or any other thing they want to be, no real restrictions aside from eligibility requirements related to age, location, citizenship, and criminal record.

@Birdie You certainly have more patience than I do.  I don't take it well if I get scolded.  Either I sulk or I get nippish.    We had a good Mother's Day here yesterday.  Quite an event, since 4 of my partners are mothers.  GF enjoys it a lot, because she's very (excessively?) proud of having produced her 5 kids.  Her eldest starts school this fall.  Amazing how time flies...
