Hello my name is Caroline I'm 33 years old and I'm beginning my transition. Since I was 9 years old I've known who I really am, but do to parental and peer pressure I've kept it a secret In fear of harsh judgment (even simple things like long hair would spark an argument ).

I recently discovered Laura's site a few weeks ago from after seeing several video blogs on youtube from several successful transitions. I was amazed with what they said and was encouraged knowing that I'm not alone. With the coming of the new year I've made it my resolution to begin a new path in my life and Im starting it by letting my hair grow back out! :)

Carol welcome aboard, you will find that we are a friendly, welcoming group. We have all kinds of advice born of experience and we love to hand it out. I am sure the welcome wagon will be around soon but until then please sit and warm yourself by our fire.

Oh my goodness....this is kinda nice...I have a sister named Carol and today is her birthday!

Well, honey, I have the goodie cart this morning and it's so cold out today. So, some nice hot coco for you. And here is some of the pastries that Sally has made, too...

I'm sure that being early in your transition, you'll find this site a wealth of information and help...there are a wealth of friendly people, too...

We are a moderated site and read each and every post to keep it safe for all of us!

Please take a minute to look at the forum rules (link at the top of every page)...I'd appreciate that....OK?

Maybe you could sit in this big 'ole chair and get comfy and some of the others will be by to say "HI!"...I see that my sisters have already said hello, so far...that's good!

Welcome to Laura's, Carol! I see you've met some of my lovely sisters already, so you're

in good hands.

This is a wonderful place filled with fantastic people from all up and down the gender spectrum.

I know you will find kindred spirits here to help you and guide you on your journey.

don't worry about being nervous, Hon, we all were at the beginning. I would hardly post

when I started, and now they can't keep me quiet long enough to get a word in. :P

Hi Carol,

Welcome hun. Just love to see new folk join in and , no, your not alone now.

      Oh, my "maybe this person is an egg" story is the (male presenting) piercing person and I discussed body hair removal methods, he says he doesn't want any hair except on his head, which is what I said during a couple hair removal sessions before and just after the egg cracked.

      I, too, am lucky.  Here in the UK I have a great therapist, a fully supportive GP, and a psychiatrist and endo who look after me and my needs.  I found the therapist on Psychology Today.

      Over the last few years of being on this site and going through medical transition, I've come to own the M->F identification.  Funny, I made a typo of M->T.  It is a curiosity if I'll ever put Gender: Female on this site.  It is my intention to be there someday.   Right now, because of career stuff and a high stress event with an electric hair clipper last fall, I'm feeling much more masculine than I would like.  I think that once I make some decent headway with my third career, I'll settle into a more feminine feeling.   I never really considered gender very much.  I certainly always used a feminine appearance as my presentation goal. I think that when I was young, I briefly had the idea of transitioning, but I convinced myself quickly that medical transition would be a bad outcome, so I put all those feelings and ideas in the closet for decades.  I'm still very apprehensive about medical transition.  I've always taken health to be a high priority for me.  I wrote a book last December about my fears of it all and my conclusion ultimately is that sometimes there is more to life than being a pillar of health.  It's important to take some chances if that is where your heart takes you.

      Good morning and congratulations @MirandaBon getting your ears pierced. This opens up a new line of jewelry to buy and collect.    @KymmieLits ashamed that any employee would ever to post a sign like this.    Well Parker Von Schwinegruber not only got me up early, we enjoyed our first cup of coffee on the patio before the sun was up. Oh it was daylight but just barely. The second cup of coffee was in the recliner, and now I’m pinned here and need someone to pour my third cup.    It’s a dog’s life… Eat, play, go potty and sleep.       Found out my boss is going to have a semi truck hoist put in my stall at work and has a couple new transmission jacks on order.Putting the hoist in my stall since I do the most driveline work which I am good at
